Basically you donate anything that you no longer use or serves you, but brought you joy in the past. The idea is to take something and leave something. The studio is very warm and inviting. We had a yoga workshop, followed by a drum circle including some great food. Ali seems to be a great instructor stop by and see her.

I even tried Yoga at gyms, etc. and didn't care for it. I needed motivation and educated instruction. I found Ali's yoga studio, Yogali, (she and her husband James own the studio) and read that she had experience helping athletes with injuries. As I mentioned before, I had tried yoga in different settings and was not satisfied. The class sizes were enormous, instruction was usually not thorough enough and guidance with my injuries was minute if at all. I felt that if Ali could help injured athletes, she could help me! I signed up for private lessons with Ali at first because of my lack of knowledge of the practice and not wanting to re-injure myself. What a great experience it was! Ali is very patient and encouraging. Above all she is knowledgeable! She didn't just take a few courses and decide to open a studio. She is also very particular about who she allows to be an instructor at her studio. All of the instructors are experienced, knowledgeable and are very observant of your needs. The studio is a home away from home! It is small and very intimate. The classes are small so the instructors can make sure everyone is moving correctly. They can take the time to personalize a move for your specific needs. Many people, such as I, start out with yoga thinking it will help them get stronger or be more flexible. It does much more than that. I have been growing stronger and feel that this experience has helped me emotionally as well. When things get tough, I just remember the "breath". (I also hear Ali's voice in my head!) Many thanks, Ali and to all at Yogali! Synde Rogers

However, the exterior does feel a little lackluster compared to some of the other big temples. The temple can get busy in the evenings, weekends and on special religious occasions but never have I felt rushed to complete my visit (which has happened to me in temples elsewhere). There is a main hall, which houses most of the deities, and an area with chairs towards the back for the elderly (who find it difficult to sit down). I can say without a doubt that you can go in there and connect with the Lord without being disturbed. There is a also another small section of the building (a smaller room of sorts) that has a few more deities, so do not forget to visit that area before leaving. You can check out the temple calendar for the different poojas and events. Plus, at the entrance of the temple you can ask for a special prayer to be done (at the temple or outside). I am happy to have found this temple so close to where I live.
