When we moved into our home, the previous owners had not taken good care of the plantings and everything was quite overgrown. We had a couple of guys do an initial clean up but we really needed someone who had more expertise and thus our friend recommended Yankee Clippers. They were very communicative about when they would come out, how much it would cost, and how we wanted to handle the trimmings. Four people showed up and they methodically went all around our house trimming the bushes and trees beautifully. We do not like bushes that are over trimmed and do not look natural. The team also showed us where we had invasive plants and removed them for us. Our yard now looks great. In the Spring, we will be having them come back to provide one on one lessons on how to do pruning care for our plantings. We highly recommend them!

Given the tree's slow growth and delicate condition, an ill-informed, chop job would have caused lasting damage--or even killed it. Tim and Johnny handled the job with care, expertise, and precision. They were thoughtful, knowledgeable, efficient, and never tried to upsell. The cost was very reasonable, especially considering it was a relatively small job that still required transportation and setup. Please note that several of the reviews here are for the wrong company and have nothing to do with the services offered by Yankee Clippers. I will definitely use Yankee Clippers for future projects.

It gives me great pleasure to recommend the reliable, versatile and reasonably priced garden care…read moreservices of Marcelo Lawn and Landscaping. For over the last 11 (eleven) years, myself and 2 adult members of my extended family (i.e., 3 residences in the Vienna) have all relied on Marcelo Gomes and his highly professional crew to handle all of our routine lawn care maintenance plus all of our seasonal leaf removal and home gutter clean up services. Marcelo's entire crew never failed to show up exactly on the date agreed; always on time. The crew would always conduct themselves in the most polite and respectful manner, following my explicit instructions and taking meticulous care never to damage any of our delicate plantings or landscape ornamentations. Marcelo's professional equipment was always in fine working order and very effective for the various tasks involved, What further impressed me was the admirable manner in which Marcelo personally took interest in the health, safety and general welfare of all of his employees. Throughout the many years of servicing all my family's local properties, the same crew members would appear full of energy, ready to work, with big smiles on their faces. Unfazed by less than ideal weather conditions or fading daylight, Marcelo and his crew have always proven themselves to be 100% committed to giving his customers beautiful maintained lawns, groomed gardens and leaf free gutters. My family remains absolutely satisfied and pleased with our continuing choice of Marcelo Law and Landscaping. You would too!

I read the reviews on Springwood Gardens and saw they were mixed, but I decided to take a chance…read moreand see how things went. I have to say that working with Mr. Gibbs and Springwood Gardens turned out to be a good experience. He came for a look at the property, gave me an estimate and made some observations as to what more needed to be done, suggesting that a failing tree be removed, and offering to include it in the price he quoted me for the original job, which was to cut back the many ornamental grasses that line portions of my property and to prune a line of shrubs. A day or so later the trimming and pruning job was done. It took just a few hours and the cuttings were hauled off and everything cleaned up just as promised. Took a week and a half or so for the second part of the job to be taken care of, which was the tree removal. It wasn't a big priority, so the wait was not an inconvenience. That day both Mr. Gibbs and his team were present for the job, and I was impressed with how quickly and efficiently the work was done. In addition to those jobs, the owner offered three extra services that he included in the agreed-upon price that added additional value to my purchase. He had some left over mulch from another job that he offered me. It was enough to refresh one bed. And while the crew was there he asked my permission to have them do two other jobs--prune the shrubs in my front bed, and clean up the leaves in the front yard. I said yes, of course, and all the jobs were done to perfection. So, essentially, he killed two birds with one stone: he kept everybody on his team busy with useful jobs and made sure that he gave me added value. That's what a good businessman does, and I find it commendable. This initial experience has left me open do to doing more business with Springwood in the future. In terms of pricing, they aren't the lowest priced landscape business around, but neither are they the most expensive. I know because earlier in the season I got two quotes from two other businesses. One was outlandishly high, the other offered me a quote that required I buy a package deal that included jobs I didn't want done. Regardless of my appeals, the estimator would not budge off their bottom line, which was too high based on the work I wanted done. I was baffled at their level of inflexibility. I won't be calling them back. Mr. Gibbs, on the other hand, was flexible and helpful in working out what needed doing, and went above and beyond to make sure everything happened right.

I was so upset today that I had to pay another company to remove the weed! it was ridiculous! He did this last November! He removed the ground cover and gravel that I had laid back in 2022! It sickens me that he took advantage of me in this way. He took the wooden edging, a flower box and killed a hosta plant that I had for many years. He even took the pot that I had it in! I never asked him to do any of this. I only wanted an estimate of what I needed done. How dare him to start working and discarded all the work I had done years previously! I don't know how much a Creep Myrtle cost, but that is dead too. I should have sued him at the time. Don't know if I can still bring a lawsuit?
