I love the scenic outlook of the park and feel like I get really nice bouts of fresh air here. Sometimes the park entrance gates are closed, which is weird, but it may be due to the weathers so keep that in mind as it's more of a private community park. The set-up of the park is great and the parking is super large. There is a large stage and I just know that this park has big prospects in mind for the future!!! Currently, it's not too packed and at the same time not too empty so we'll see how it goes in the future!!! Bathrooms are clean for a park and am satisfied with the amenities.

We came here with our rackets to play some pickleball and for the first hour it was just enough with the 4 courts. After past the hour mark, it started getting more full and groups were waiting outside the court. Regardless, my boyfriend and I were super happy to have finally checked out this new park after hearing about it from my roommates. Also want to note that the spot has a large stage and ampitheatre-like set-up and we would love to see if there are any community events that pop up here. The sign of the park also just says Porter Ranch Community Park even though it says differently online. Hopefully the name confusion can be fixed. Anyways, this is definitely a wonderful addition for the community and I hope it stays how it is with the maintenance and care! - kid-friendly apparatus area - one basketball court - 4 pickleball courts (looks too small for tennis) - clean bathrooms

The park was already having some kind of event near the kids playground. There was also a kid soccer game going on too. I saw people were playing basketball at the court, tennis in the tennis court and other people were just walking their dog. This park has a pool as well but I think it was closed because the pool was drained. This is a nice big and relaxing park in Northridge.

We signed up our son for Northridge spring soccer league. The soccer game started last Saturday 4/4. However, after attending the soccer evaluations early last month, we never heard from a coach and do not know who his coach is, what team he is on or when the games are scheduled. We tried emailing Jason Gianni twice for this information, but never received a response. My husband called the rec center and all they can provide is the email to Dwayne Finley, the Senior Recreation Director. We emailed him twice and we still haven't heard from him. I called Northridge Rec Center three times today and no one answers. At this point, with their lack of care and consideration, we want a refund. And trying to get our money back has been so frustrating!! They rob my son of the opportunity to play soccer then they literally rob us! Be warned if you sign up for any of their leagues.

I will forever compare every gym I go to, to this one. And none of them will measure up. I will…read moremiss it so much once I graduate. This place is CLEAN and has amazing equipment. Staff enforces mask wearing and wipes are available to wipe down your equipment. AND PEOPLE ACTUALLY DO IT!!? What?! Everyone re-racks the weights and plates properly, and there are plenty of squat racks and benches. They have a track to run on as well as a HIIT area on the upper floors. There is also an area to do abs and stretching. They offer private pilates, Zumba, and yoga classes. Not to mention that they have an incredible rock climbing wall. This place is luxurious and spacious, and I'm not mad about probably ~50% of my tuition going to its maintenance and upkeep. Only thing that bothers me about the SRC is that they have such limited hours around the holidays. For example, this past weekend following Thanksgiving, they were only open from 10-2 pm. They are also closed from Dec 25- Jan 1, which I guess is understandable. But then again they are closed the week before the spring semester starts. It makes me feel like if I wanted to work out during those times, I need to purchase a separate gym membership somewhere else (which I do not want to do). Also, keep in mind that if you want to rock climb, you have to come at certain times as well, when the rock climbing staff are there. They really need to bring back the guest passes! Especially if that guest was an alumnus. And if they are going to charge $180 a semester for alumni gym membership, maybe make it worth it by not randomly closing down a couple weeks before the semester starts.

I'm definitely beginner in my fitness journey but even I know they have stuff that I haven't seen at other gyms. The only dumb thing is they won't allow you to check in for your fitness class if you're more than 1-2 minutes late.

She truly believes he is the best coach. His teaching and training style is both fun and effective. He uses thoughtful exercises and drills that are perfectly suited for helping kids learn tennis while staying engaged and excited to be there. As a parent, I really appreciate how professional he is and, most importantly, the way he speaks to the kids. Coach Tim has a special way of motivating them, encouraging them, and building their self-esteem through his words. We are very sad to hear that Coach Tim will be moving away and will no longer be teaching here. He has made such a positive impact on my daughter, and he will truly be missed by our family. We are so grateful for the time our daughter was able to learn from him and wish him all the best. Swim Classes Review: The swim classes here are also wonderful. The lifeguards/ teachers are friendly, patient, and great with kids. I really like that the program has clear levels and that kids are tested. I had a hard time teaching my daughter to swim at home, but once she started classes, she learned to float in just one class and was swimming by the second level. I highly recommend the swim classes, they are very affordable, and I love that they're offered daily (seasonal only).

***Tennis Class Review Only***…read more I was recommended to sign up for the tennis adult class at Ritchie Valens Park by one or Tim's current students, and I'm glad I joined. I started last summer and it's been a great experience. Coach Tim does a great job balancing rally practices with skill development for all levels. He takes his time to go over proper form and technique, which has helped me improve. The sessions are both fun and instructional. I highly recommend taking the class!
