Her schedule was pretty flexible and worked for us since we both work during the week. She is a great teacher and choreographed our dance based on our level. We were super beginner but still was able to come up with a beautiful dance for us. We made sure to follow her advice and practice every day between sessions. One of our friends recommended that we hire a doula to help us with the process... and so the search began. We met with a few different doulas, however as soon as we met Cali, we knew she was the perfect fit for our growing family. We felt very comfortable with her, she was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, and her beliefs aligned with ours about the ideal birth. In addition, she offered us private parenting classes since our schedules were always conflicting with the hospital's classes we were interested in taking. In all of our meetings before the birth, Cali came prepared and ready to work. However, I always felt like I was meeting with a good friend. When my water broke 1 month early, Cali dropped everything to be at my side (even though it was her birthday!!) She even came to our house first to help pack for the hospital, keep me calm until my husband got home from work, and even installed our car seat (since we were so unprepared for such an early arrival!) I was a little unsure that I was going to be able to follow the birth plan we had put together, to keep things all natural, with no medical intervention, but with Cali's help, I was! She was calm and encouraging through my entire labor, and provided support for my husband as he coached me through a successful, all natural birth. We could not be more grateful. After the birth, Cali constantly checked in on us, and offered advice and help when we were having some difficulties with breast-feeding during her postpartum visit. During the riding test, I was doing okay until I panicked, locked up the rear brake instead of progressively squeezing the front, heard the tire squeal, stopped, and jumped off the bike like a child. I was embarrassed and convinced I had already failed. Without making a big scene or drawing attention to it, they calmed me down, helped me reset, and got my head back into a good place. Somehow, I managed to pass. Barely, but a pass is a pass. The funny part is that once I got out riding on my own, everything they had taught me started to click. The classroom instruction was just as good. They were patient, clear, and genuinely engaged. You can tell they enjoy what they do. Even though they teach the same material repeatedly, it never feels like they are just going through the motions or thinking, "Here we go again, same class, different day." They were able to coordinate a last minute surf lesson after another company flaked on us the morning of our lesson. My 11 year old granddaughter's lesson was with Aaron, who graciously showed up with a wetsuit, a board and a great attitude. All with barely any notice. She opted not to wear a wetsuit, but hey she's a polynesian girl and loves cold water. He explained safety, body positioning on the board, foot positioning, paddle and pop up. Actually he gave more instructions than I listed. She understood well, so this part of the lesson was pretty quick. They walked looking for a spot. Aaron explained the different types of waves pointing them out to her as they appeared. He picked a spot that was empty and showed her how to put the board in the water, which may sound silly but it is important. She paddled out, ducked and dived, turned, popped up and rode in on her first try. They stayed out for quite a while talking in between. Sometimes she wiped out and sometimes she looked like she'd been surfing since birth. After about an hour and half she needed a break and suggested he go out so she could watch. As impressive as he was, she KTFO!!!! LOL! Just a quick little nap after waking up early and all of her hard work in that cold water. When she got up they went out again. This time she needed very little assistance. It was great!!!! Now we can surf together. All in all I'm glad the other surf school I booked with flaked on us. This was a great experience all around. I'm planning on getting a lesson set up for one of my grandbaby's friends soon. The more the merrier right? I totally recommend the Sal Y Sol surf school for a great experience!

I found this place on yelp and was excited to read all the good reviews. Therefore I was looking…read moreforward to coming into the gym to have a tour and get some details and whatnot!! Except there happened to be an idiot answering thier phones today.I called to see if an appointment was necessary. Unfortunately some guy answers the phone plainly "Hello". I asked if this was the gym, he rudely says "yeah what do you want". Really?! I decided to hang up. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and show up, maybe they had an idiot answering their phone that day. Nope!!! I'm guessing he's the owner and trainer!! I show up with another adult and two teens who were ready to sign up for boxing classes. We step inside and the gym is empty, zero patrons and the guy says "Yeah what do you want". I told him that we were there to see the gym and talk about pricing and signing up. He just points to the empty gym and says "that's the gym", what else do you want. WTF?! Is this really happening. Still, I remained calm and asked to walk around, he says "yeah but don't touch anything!" very rudely. At that point I walk around and see that he has all the right basic equipment. However because of his shitty attitude, we decided to walk right out. No way am I paying $260 a month for two teens and $600 for 10 sessions with an asshole! If we were training and everything..... SURE talk shit to me and get me pissed off....but no way am I giving a complete douche bag my money. This is not how you do business, get business or deal with potential clients who pay you money!! I'd rather take shitty boxing classes at the gym than to give this turd any money!
