Going based off another bad review, I wouldn't do business with this dealer. I recently sent them a message on Instagram about wanting to sell a dresser that I inherited. I did some research and compared prices and came up with a ballpark number that I didn't really stick with, I just figured it sounded good enough to let people negotiate if they were interested. Mind you, I'm not some mid-century furniture snob, I just wanted to let the piece go. I sent a friendly message asking them if they were interested they could possibly negotiate or maybe trade (if that's even a thing?) and pick up if they were interested (i definitely don't have time to deliver with work). Instead of responding in a polite way, they responded with "good luck." Which doesn't sound bad, but isn't really a good response to someone who left an open and positive message. Whoever responded, the appropriate answer should have been "I'm sorry, that price is a little too high for us. Would you be willing to take (blank)?" Or "I'm sorry, we're not interested at the moment, but thank you." It's not hard to be nice? read more

Aymerick called me when I was having a small estate sale to sell some mid century items that I had inherited from my parents. I was selling those items to help pay for medical bills for my 3 year old son who was diagnosed with leukemia in September 2017. Initially, Aymerick sent one of his pickers, Chris, to my home to review what I had for sale and check the prices. Chris pretended to be buying items for his own apartment. He pretended to talk on the phone with a friend in the midwest. Chris was very polite + friendly. A few days later, Aymerick called me (not fully realizing that he was on his business phone, which can easily be googled to his business) to make an offer on a few of my items. When I turned him down, he immediately started to berate me for my high prices. Telling me that I was an idiot and don't know anything about pricing. He also said that I advertised an "Estate Sale", meaning that my prices were supposed to be cheap enough for a dealer to make a profit. Then, Aymerick got REALLY CREEPY and sketchy! He started telling me that he had been in my home and saw my furniture items up close and personal, with his own eyes. I immediately knew he was LYING and told him that one of his pickers, Chris, had come to the estate sale, but he had not. He instantly tried to back pedal when he knew I had caught him red handed. He never apologized, but started to act a bit more friendly...even stating that we'd "meet in the future". Aymerick bullied me, tried to intimidate me and treated me like I was inferior to him because I am a WOMAN. He also acted super creepy when he said he had been in my home. To this day, whenever I post an ad on Craigslist for any mid century furniture item, Aymerick immediately flags it so it is automatically deleted. He may have gorgeous furniture, he may have a stunning showroom, he may have an impeccable eye for mcm designer pieces, etc., but at his core, his CHARACTER and BUSINESS PRACTICES are DEPLORABLE. I am a mother of a 3 year old boy diagnosed with Leukemia trying to sell some furniture to pay for my son's 3.5 years of chemotherapy and steroid treatments, which include 11 different medications, infusions, blood transfusions, spinal taps and bone marrow aspirates. DO NOT SUPPORT HIS BUSINESS WHEN HE TREATS WOMEN in such a horrendous manner. In the era of the #MeToo movement, Aymerick's intimidating and bullying behavior toward any woman is not acceptable. read more

Part of me doesn't want to write this review simply because I'd love to keep Aymerick Modern a secret but because I, too, depend on Yelp reviews to help me choose new places to eat, shop, etc., I thought that sharing a review for THE place to go for MCM pieces, was the right thing to do. We (my wife and I) initially went to the shop to "just look" which then led to the purchase of some dining chairs which then led to the purchase of several more pieces of art (furniture) which then led to....you get the picture. The shop is absolutely addicting! It has a really nice selection of unique MCM pieces and the quality is just superior to many other places that I have been to when searching for the perfect MCM piece.
