We had an unusual problem, with no obvious solution. Above the electric stove top on our kitchen…read moreisland there is an old (Zephyr) range hood with a glass canopy that had been installed too low and intrusive, at least relative to the location of my head when cooking. We had hoped to be able to lift the whole thing a few inches, but had no idea how. Enter Eliot from Applicare. He pondered the situation, consulted a printout of the manufacturer's docs, and discussed with us. The conclusion was that we could probably just eliminate the canopy and retain the key functionality of the hood. 90 minutes of hard work ensued, mostly by him, but ably assisted by my wife and (occasionally) me, and it was done! The charge was entirely reasonable, and we'd be happy to engage him again. And he's a character!
