Tried this place for the first time today. It was early-ish lunch for a Sunday. Not very busy. Place was clean, ki d of small, but sufficient . We were greeted promptly and sat right away. We did ask what was popular and our waitress advised us of that per the menu. I decided on the 2 taco plate. I thought they were delicious. I tried a fish taco, and I do feel it could have had a bit more flavor, and be served with lime, but overall food was great. I will definitely be back. My older two ordered off the brush menu. The chicken and Pancake taco and breakfast burrito. The papas are so good! My little one ordered the two chicken and cheese tacos from the kids menu (thanks for having a kid menu)!! Great experience and friendly employees. Thank you.

    Hair

Horrific experience. I will never never come back. First of all, hair in the queso. Second of all, the food was terrible. The crab cake taco was so salty I literally could not eat it. The scallop taco had black beans and the flavor was just not right. I did (very nicely and gently) talk to the server and the manager to share feedback on our experience. The manager's solution was to take the queso and $5 off the bill. This dinner was a waste of money and calories.

    Mexican Balls!

This place is great! The service and food were perfect. The only reason I can't rate it at 5 is because it was unbelievably hot in there. So hot that it was hard to enjoy our meal. The bartender finally turned down the AC after we'd been there about an hour. I'll go back in the Winter. Tacos were excellent, Mexican Balls were different and great, guac was meh.

Walking in it looks festive and fun. Looked much smaller than I thought. They sat us at a high top table that had a giant water pipe in the middle of it with valves sticking out into the seating space. The menu is mostly tacos and their version of some basics. The bar looked great and the drink menu was very extensive. The margarita was on the rod (not blended) but the flavor was good and so was the alcohol content. On to the tacos. The fish taco was good but all the flavor was in the sauce topping. I never really tasted the fish. The shrimp was a little better, but again, the sauce takes over. Somehow they messed up a basic steak taco, very bland and pieces were too big. The Korean style tacos were great, very tender and the flavor was not overwhelming. Finally the carnita tacos, most disappointing. They looked as if the would be great but in fact they were just boring. Another gripe I had was with the tortillas, we ordered corn and it's like they just steamed them for a few seconds before filling them, which made them very weak. Service was great and friendly. PS don't get the rice, not sure what they are trying to do, but it was a big miss.

We had a fantastic time we didn't spend as much time as we originally intended but next time we definitely well, we met the owner and he's a fantastic person... actually had a really great conversation about how his restaurant came to. As far as the food we ordered the flight taco and some of our choices were the OG, the Catawba, and a Korean inspired one. The tacos were absolutely delicious my only complaint was I should have chose corn tortillas as the base. Come for the drinks but stay for the papas (potato fries) so yum!

Tacos were fantastic, deep flavors and fresh toppings. Tried the elote wedges - good but messy & hard to eat. Salsa was extremely garlicky, but I couldn't stop eating it, nor have I stopped tasting it 6 hours later.

I have been waiting to try this for a while now. My friends and I were downtown Rock Hill and were hungry for a late lunch so we decided to stop by this place. We were sat right away and greeted with the kindest smile. We ordered drinks and tacos which came out in a decent amount of time. The margarita was strong but good. The tacos were different for sure in a good way. They were unique in a way but the flavor was there for each one that I had. Everything was amazing from the food to the drinks. If you want to try new and different I would want to suggest this place.

I met my husband for lunch at this fairly new Tex Mex joint in Downtown Rock Hill, and here's my take. The place itself is pretty cute...with some popping artwork, fancy light fixtures, and bright, colorful palette throughout. However, I thought the layout for the tables were a bit awkward. There were actually only 6 sizable tables, 3 of which were directly facing the bathrooms. VERY awkward! There were lotsa barstools facing the walls and the windows...and I thought that was quite odd. Guess it'd be a good place to visit alone? Seems they specialized in tacos, so I went for the Taco Flight of 3 ("The Bruce Lee Roy", "The Chesterfield" and "The Lafayette"), with a side salad. My husband isn't a fan of the Raddish or Slaw in most of their tacos, so he ordered the "Burrito Me", which was quite sizable, with Papi's Poblano. Well, their tacos had some potential, but they weren't cooked nor served hot enough. The shells and the meats were barely warm. My husband said the same thing about his burrito. We both agreed that our foods were simply not cooked long enough...and not properly heated! Obviously, we both didn't quite love the foods. Also, must say that the Korean taco (misnamed "The Bruce Lee Roy" LOL...BTW, Bruce Lee is NOT Korean!) was not authentic at all...but guess I wasn't expecting it really. Overall, I thought the place had a certain charm (though again, a bit awkward). The foods COULD have been good (if properly cooked/heated!), and at the very least, they were reasonably priced. Also, the service was really good...fast and friendly. Am glad I checked out the place...but not itching to go back soon. Not opposed to revisiting in the future, but I sure hope the foods are properly cooked next time?

The food was delicious. The service was great. Prices were good. We were all pleased with our food, place and service.

    Tacos!

Ordered to pickup, they were on time and friendly. Unfortunately, the food contained a substantial amount of cilantro despite instructions to not add any. Food looked great and was solid, yet unspectacular.

Pork Carnitas Burrito with Papas and Guac
    Laura M.

I ordered the pork carnitas burrito with fried potatoes and I ordered a side of guacamole. Everything tasted fresh! The burrito was huge and I could only eat half. Our group tried the churros dessert. It was also very tasty! The only negative was that everything is a la carte including the chips and salsa. I'm accustomed to being greeted with chips and salsa at most Mexican restaurants.

This place surprised me. We popped in during a quick food truck Friday event to escape the heat & rain and glad we did. Inside was busy but service was quick and did not lack. Both drinks and food was fantastic. Try the shrimp & mussels, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic lunch spot at a great price point... The three taco flight is awesome and the variety on the menu is perfect. Some very unique taco combinations. $12 for a good sized lunch, would totally recommend to anyone in town!

Ashley was our server and she was amazing -- very attentive, friendly, and gave great recommendations. She really made the experience even better. We started with the pork belly skewers topped with ranch, BBQ, crushed cashews, and pickled red onions -- 10/10. Huge portion and packed with flavor. The balance of sweet, tangy, and crunchy was perfect. The chicken Caesar sandwich was sooo good. It's a massive sandwich with a crispy chicken cutlet topped with Caesar salad, pickled red onions, and chickpeas. Fair warning: it's a little hard to eat because of the size, but completely worth it. The dressing leans more vinegar-forward than creamy, which I personally loved. I'd honestly order it again just as a salad. The truffle parm fries were another 10/10 -- loaded with parmesan and full of flavor. The stout braised beef melt was amazing. Tons of meat and the flavors blended together perfectly. Definitely a standout. The pub chips with added Cajun seasoning were okay -- not bad, just nothing super special compared to everything else. As longtime fans of their previous food truck, we're so impressed with what they've grown into as a restaurant. It's clear they've kept the quality while elevating the whole experience. We'll absolutely be back!

came from Charlotte to try Elk Ave Tavern after seeing a TikTok food review claiming it had one of…read morethe "top five cheesesteaks," so I went in with pretty high expectations. Unfortunately, I left feeling very disappointed. I ordered the cheesesteak, which was the main reason for my visit, and it just didn't live up to the hype. The bread was soggy, the meat was very small diced instead of the ribeye-style cuts you'd expect from a good cheesesteak, and the cheese tasted more like Kraft than anything premium. Overall, it was very bland and lacked the flavor I was hoping for. For $18 and about a 20-minute drive, I honestly expected much more. On the positive side, the Brussels sprouts were amazing -- easily the standout item from my visit. They were flavorful and cooked really well. The fries were fine too, but fries are fries and it's hard to mess those up. The staff were very nice and attentive, and the food came out in about 10-15 minutes, which I appreciated. The restaurant itself is a small, quaint place located in downtown Rock Hill across from the public library. I didn't have trouble parking, but it was around 12:30 on a Wednesday and the lot and nearby street parking were both pretty full, so I could see it being tighter during busier times. I also noticed this location used to be called Sweet Tea back around 2020 when they served chicken and waffles, so it was interesting to see how the space has changed. The menu overall isn't very large, and since I mainly came for the cheesesteak and it didn't meet my expectations, I don't see myself returning. In my personal opinion, Cheat's Cheesesteak Parlor still has the best cheesesteak in Charlotte and the surrounding areas. I really wanted to love this place, but based on this visit, it just didn't deliver for me.

We were a little confused as to how to enter the restaurant, but I chalk that up to being tired. The space is wide open and airy, with large windows and skylights. The restaurant was nice and clean, save for something that was splashed on the wall in our booth - but it's a restaurant. There's going to be little picky things here and there and I'm sure it was wiped down by the end of the day! Our hostess was also our server and she was so knowledgeable about the menu. I took her suggestions at every turn and did not regret it. We started off with the Bang Bang Brussels Sprouts app and let me tell you - I could've eaten that as my entire meal. They are SO delicious and I'll be dreaming of them until I can return to Rock Hill. Holy cow, they were good - crispy on the outside, loaded with flavor and just enough spice to give the sweetness a little bite. So good. My husband had the country fried steak and he said it was very good. Not the best he's ever had, he said, but good enough. He wished there'd been more steak and less crust, but the flavor was right on. They were out of the salt and pepper flounder, so I changed my order to the ranch chicken. Ummmm....excuse me. Who says not to order chicken breasts at restaurants? The portion size is SO generous and the chicken is SO DELICIOUS that I, the girl who rarely bothers to take leftovers, boxed up what was left and brought it back to my hotel and ate it as a midnight snack. The grilled zucchini served on the side of it was delicious. If I ever get back, I'll ask if I can skip the potatoes in favor of more of that zucchini! We didn't really have room for dessert, but when we heard about the warm banana pudding, we were curious. DO NOT SKIP THIS DESSERT. If you're a banana pudding fan, this will blow your mind. Absolutely incredible! It's both warm and cool at the same time, caramelized bananas and a torched meringue topping were bowl-licking delicious. All in all, this was a fantastic experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

My husband ordered the Salt and Pepper Fried Tilapia with grits, topped with the most delicious tomato stew that had us both sneaking bites from each other's plates. It was a little dark though it was more quiet than the sunlit front. I ordered the Old Town Cobb and my husband ordered the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf and a Caesar salad. The focaccia croutons in the salad were out of this world delicious and different. Their flavor of the croutons burst in our mouth. The meatloaf's presentation was superb. Hubby said he would order meatloaf again. I had a bite and it was crispy and smoky tasting. My husband ordered 2 beers and the bill was under $50 which we thought was a good value. Pros: water served in glass tumblers. Menu is very creative. Food is really delicious. Location. Plenty of other spots to grab a coffee, tea or hot chocolate while walking around Main Street after eating. Cons: tomatoes under ripe in Cobb salad.
