There was no food available when we were there. It's a great place but ridiculously expensive for what you get. 5 of us and no one got but 4 pretty full beers and the bill was almost $150!!! Most of the pours were foam on top of that! Unfortunately, we won't be returning based on that bill! read more

This was our second time visiting this Hoppin' location for St. Patrick's day. Getting set up is quick, just provide a card and ID at the front desk to receive your self-pour bracelet and get started. They have several taps available with beer, seltzers, wine, and cocktails. Orange and cranberry juices are available for free. There is also a small bar for ordering traditional drinks if that's your thing. I love that they have both indoor and outdoor seating, equipped with card and board games, fire pits, and some rooftop seating. We did not order food, but there are options to order from a QR code and have food brought to your table, as well as a food truck in the parking lot. I was invited to an event here. The ambiance was cool. It is a taproom that offers beer, wine, cider and cocktails but they also have non-alcoholic drinks. In the back there are fire pits and a nice patios on the 1st and second floors. The service was great with friendly people working there. They've also added a food truck in the front as you walk in. This was a pretty fun place to go to. I have never been to a bar where you pour your own cider and drinks. I would go there again if I'm ever down that way again. You do need to eat food somewhere else or get food from the food truck they have outside. The actual bar only serves drinks. read more

Pets are welcome, they don't serve food but scan the QR code for barbecue across the street which delivers or bring your own. My boyfriend and I stopped by to check out this newest location of Hoppin' and we were blown away! I'm a huge fan of the South End location so I had really high expectations. They exceeded them, by far. The space is massive, immaculate and gorgeous! There's so much room. You can enjoy the inside space or venture outdoors on their lawn, patio or upstairs area. It's next to a train station which I thought was super cool. I actually like that they don't allow kids after a certain time because while we were there, there was some kind of birthday group that had lots of kids. A few of the kids literally almost ran into me with my beer flight and that would've really sucked LOL. I'd probably come back when no kids are around. There's a strong sense of history in the surroundings and a pleasant mixture of vintage and modern on the inside with the brick walls exposed and concrete floors and decor and lighting. Tasty selection of beers. A couple non-alcoholic options and even my favorite, thc/cbd beverages!! The manager Jacob is super friendly and informative. If it's your first time you will not be lost on how to operate the self serve system! And there's FOOD!! The food truck on the premises, FRESHPRESS, has delicious paninis and more!! Super fun place with a lot of places to hang out and socialize. I'm not a big fan of beer or wine -- more into the spirits. There are some pre-made cocktail options, and I was really happy to see there was an option for a bartender to make me a cocktail (or two). I went with a group of people and we all found things we liked to drink and enjoyed the social scene for a few hours. For those who want it, the self-pour option means you never have to wait in line to get drinks! Nice. I liked there was a station to get water on my own, too. Ok Hoppin is pretty cool...expensive, but pretty cool. Oh and the fact the best food truck anywhere near Rock Hill is parked in the back pretty much every night, well that makes it 4 stars instead of 3. Typical self serve taps you are given a bracelet after you give them a credit card. Pretty decent assortment of beers; from your typical big corporate (blue moon or Stella) beers, to local craft brews. Pay by the ounce so it gets expensive fast. Happy hour is the way to go because all are 1/2 off per ounce. To be honest if it wasn't for Cibi Cibi being in the parking lot I'd rarely come, but with them in the back and access to cold beers, it's a solid date night or burger and beer go to in Rock Hill. Not sure how they can look you in the face defaulting to 20% tip added at checkout when you literally do everything on you own (even cleaning and grabbing your own glass) but I guess that the world we live in now. read more

Major Letdown: Not Worth Your Time or Money I had high hopes for Hoppin' in Rock Hill, SC, but boy, was I let down. Hope others find this review helpful and informative as they explore some of the many amazing venues Rock Hill offers. First off, the beer selection was extremely underwhelming. They boast about having a ton of taps on Instagram and other socials, but the choices were seriously lacking. Ever visit the beer aisle at Harris Teeter? Every option available there is a candidate to be on tap at Hoppin', along with a few local beers thrown in. And don't even get me started on the prices--outrageous doesn't even begin to cover it. The prices were through the roof. Paying a fortune for beer that's just so-so is a total rip-off, especially considering the next issue. If you're able to find a beer worth trying, your glass is likely to end up one-third full of foam because you're unable to let the pour run off properly without being charged double to triple per ounce compared to any other spot to let the excess foam run over. It's clear they've received enough complaints about this that they have a poster above the taps claiming "Foam Is Beer!" So, you've had a few foamy pours and decide it's time to check out any of the wonderful breweries nearby instead. You begin to close out your tab and realize there's 20% gratuity automatically applied! What for? You're serving yourself the foamy pour! My advice? Don't waste your time or money here. Check out any of the other fantastic breweries like Slow Play, Legal Remedy, or Middle James instead. They've got way better quality beer, selection, and prices. And if you're visiting to try the Cibi Cibi food truck - which is incredibly good! - they offer mobile ordering so you can grab to go. Miss these guys from the Slow Play days! Bottom line: Hoppin' was a huge letdown, and I won't be back anytime soon. read more

I recently met family and friends at Hoppin' to catch up. I loved the relaxed atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating and the variety of taps. The indoor space includes a private room that would be perfect for a party or special event. I expect corporate events will be reserved well in advance because this venue is unique and centrally located. The line to pick up a bracelet moved fast. Once you pour a beer, go ahead and get settled. You will want to stay for awhile. 100% recommend. read more

Very cool spot with a cool system. You open a tab and they give you a wristband that lets you scan. You go to a tap and scan and it charges you by the ounce. They have a large selection and even have cocktails. It is a little bit expensive in my opinion even for local craft beer but is a very cool spot. The atmosphere is very nice, two stories and a big outside area. Cibi cibi also resides here now until their brick and mortar store opens next year. So great food and beer! read more
