Pros: nice people who can do hair. Nice atmosphere. Cons: Too many stylists canceling or changing your appointment on the same day. So frustrating and very little effort to accommodate. Today was the last day of their week. I've had an appointment for a big hair makeover for my celebratory trip out of town next Monday. My appointment yesterday was changed, then changed again and then canceled. No one offered to accommodate me another way (after hours? Saturday?) My well-laid plans, ruined. Very poor customer service and lack of professionalism. Overpriced for what they offer, I mentioned something I didn't like to the owner or "boss" was not nice or understanding (she did my hair). She automatically thought I was gonna yell and act like a Karen but I was extremely nice and chill I genuinely wanted my hair fixed and cause no drama. I explained to her how I wanted the roots blended into my hair and how she could have just done the top as well. Jody Judy (THE OWENER "boss") whatever her name is started yelling at me and complaining, talking about how I didn't let her cut my ends "you didn't let me cut your fried ends so no" so she felt entitled to not fix it. Like BRO how is she not embarrassed to talk to people like that especially her AND I was so nice she just started attacking me, the hair cut has nothing to do with what I was upset with I wasn't expecting that response at all. If she really didn't want to fix it a respectful professional no would have been nice. I'm sure she would want that too if she was in my shoes. For that price she should be willing to fix and ask questions....instead she does the complete opposite. So don't go there she can't accept mistakes. read more

I left my review on google but can't upload pictures there. I am upset of how much of a bad experience I had in one place. I came to Rebecca for a lash fill and I left insulted and scolded at??! I felt very uncomfortable sitting in her chair after she said I look "cock-eyed" god never will go back. I needed a lash fill and she stopped me when I first started talking, she explained to me that she's been teaching how to do lash extensions since they started. Okay cool? I wish her work was a reputable as she makes herself to be but the truth is... she's not an artist and has less than proficient skills. She didn't give me a chance to even show her what I got originally and what I wanted this time, she went as far as to tell me that the "look with girls" these days is TOO much and ruins the integrity of my lashes, with a condensing tone! She forgot to mention if a style ISNT DONE CORRECTLY like she did as you can see in the picture. Lash extensions will ruin your real lashes if they are glued to your actual lash hair! My lash tech from Portland HARDLY made a mistake of glueing it to close but Rebecca here glued it not only to one lash but three. I just can't believe someone isn't willing to admit that they don't have the Skill to do what you want but will actually turn the tables on the CLIENT and scold at them (excuse me lady, you're not my mother) and tell them that the style that is "in" just isn't worth it. I'd like to add, she will tell you that fewer lashes makes for a better look. Wow. But you do know how often you'll have to go for a fill??? That is exactly her game. I had the best experience getting my lashes done from Rebecca. She was beyond sweet, and extremely professional and knowledgeable with her services. I have worn contacts since I was 11 years old. Not sure if it is a factor or not, but my eyes, and around my eyes have always been extremely sensitive. She took this into consideration with her application, and when we were all done, I couldn't even feel them! From my short natural lashes, she made them look as if I grew them myself! Well I have never been much if a fan of "Axis Salon", for reason when I went to the former, larger location, it felt very cold. No one really greeted you, unless there was a person at the front counter. For a hair cut seems a little steep, especially for shorter hair. I went to the newer location in Redmond a couple of times this year, and found a young lady that know what she is doing. I had a appt with her last week, she text me to tell me she was ill. I did go to my backup on Bend. She was fairly new to the salon & industry, but did a good job... I had a piece if hair that was driving me nuts, in the back of my head. I called to ask if anyone was available & got in same day. Was NOT TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE AMOUNT OF A WHOLE H/CUT. So I was in the chair & the stylist noticed right away the spot. She clipped it & checked the other side. Took her maybe 5 mins. I gave her $5.00. At check out she ask if I wanted to schedule a APPT with the stylist I had been going to, I said yes and scheduled a appt. Then she charged me $45.00 for reason I went to another salon. Now that's what I call " CUSTOMER SERVICE" NOT!! I will never go to that Axis Salon again. read more

I am from Portland and was in the Redmond area visiting my parents. I scheduled a brow and chin wax at Axis Salon and it was my first time at this location. I told the stylist I wanted to keep the fullness of my brows and to just clean them up. She butchered them to say the least. I've never had thin brows and they are literally pencil thin. I am so unhappy and upset. Then, she waxed twice in the same spot causing the top layer of my skin to rip off. Such a big disappointment. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I'm a big fan of keeping services local, but after getting my brows waxed around Redmond I was starting to get gun shy when it came to letting anyone shape my unruly brows. And then I found.... Axis & Ellie. She listened to what I had to say and what my concerns were and then, rip-rip, and a few minutes later I was so happy that I had taken a risk. Brow perfection and in no time flat. I also appreciated the fact that you didn't have to lay down on a massage table and have a person hover over you. I just got to sit in a chair & converse. This is the only Salon in Redmond I trust with my hair! I've been to four other salons in Redmond and they've all disappointed me with the results. Especially one particular event that brought me here.. I went to a different salon last year for a perm, and after two almost three hours, left bawling my eyes out because my hair was falling out. It was completely fried. I called my mother right away, because in that moment I really needed help. She took me to the salon she goes to (Axis) and the girls immediately knew what went wrong by the condition of my hair and the expression on my face. They helped me right then and washed out all that nasty product then put a repair treatment in my hair, for FREE. They got me an appointment that next morning to take a look at the damage that was left in my hair. Sadly, we had to chop 12+ inches off (I ended up with a pixie cut) and I had a very strict hair repair schedule I had to follow, but I am so grateful that they helped me right away. Now my hair is down to my shoulders again and is so much more healthy. I was just recently in for highlights and I love them. The girls here are not only very skilled and professional, but also very caring. I recommend them 100%, you will get the results you dream of. read more

Jody, the owner, cut my hair. It is fine, thin and light blond, and she butchered it. I asked for a conservative short cut that would set 1/2" over my ears. Jody gave me a buzz cut from my neckline to about 2" above my ears. She left the top only slightly longer. I'm 75-years-old, and it was hideous on me. I went home and cried. read more

My hair is damaged and my scalp and back of neck still stings after stacia bleached my hair, my naturally darker hair, because they didnt have strong enough color to cover my gray grow out. The owner Jody was the most rude and unprofessional person Ive ever encountered. She told me I was crazy, that my head and neck dont burn, that I got what I asked for, topped it off with her telling me to get the F**k out and threatened me with the sops. I had plenty of before pictures showing her how my hair has always been prior to this and she refused to take responsibility. Unbelievably awful and painful experience. I first went to Axis for a Brazilian wax and was scheduled with Emily. She is fabulous! She is really good and very caring. I now see her regularly for hair styling and she is great. I color my hair at home, out of a box, because it is all I can afford (Brazilian waxes at long gone!). Emily has always been complimentary of my color and has never tried to persuade me to have it done professionally. I really appreciate that. Thought I'd try out this salon because they did have good reviews. However .... Clearly customer service and satisfaction does NOT come first at Axis! ... I needed my roots lightened and a refoil to blend back in with my extensions for a wedding I'm attending this weekend. Was a last minute decision and my regular stylist wasn't available. Took my extensions with me for color matching. Ended up with color that was much darker and ashy so I can't wear my extensions now and beyond that I ended up with a color that every time I look in the mirror I want to cry! Called the salon to see what they could do. The owner Jody was extremely rude, wouldn't let me finish ANY of my sentences, couldn't even get two words out, even after I politely asked her multiple times to please stop interrupting me continuously and talk with me kindly as I was trying to with her. She then spatted out at me numerous insults to my character/person ... including saying "it wasnt my hair I was unhappy with but my life"! Refused to fix my hair. Then hung up on me! All of this because I KINDLY asked her to please speak to me with some professionalism. I spend over $300 at her salon!! And that's the type of service this owner gives! I have never had to call a salon back and ask for a "fix" nor I have never been spoken to and treated so disrespectfully as a customer in my entire life! The receptionist is extremely kind and the stylist herself was nice, I just didn't get what I was looking for and wanted it done to a level I could smile when I look in the mirror ... it's that what getting your hair done is about?!? I have not had my hair done here. I did not get past the receptionist. I recently stopped by the salon to get some prices on coloring my hair before I made the decision to schedule my first appointment there. The receptionist was rude and not very helpful at all. First of all the receptionist is usually the first person that people see or speak to in a salon. So she should be familiar with pricing even if she has to look up the prices or even go ask someone. She told me that she doesn't know the prices and that I would have to speak with a stylist and that both of them are busy with clients now. Since there were people waiting I don't even know if I would have been able to see one of them to get their prices. I asked her if I would have to schedule an appointment with a stylist to get their prices and she said yes. I was shocked to hear this! Everywhere else I have been always wants my business so they were more than accommodating. I showed the receptionist the price list I pulled up from their website so she went on line and said the "starting price" for the roots is $10 more than their website says and she quoted $110 as the "starting price" to do a color weave (because my hair is long) which is starting at $30 more than their website shows. This receptionist was still helping me when a 'regular' came in. She immediately turned away from me and spoke to this other customer before finishing with me...so rude. I will never go back and my advice is to be sure of prices before you make an appt. here. If price is of no concern to you then you may be happy here. I felt mistreated so I will never give them my business. read more

I looked for a local shop with products I could trust and well-trained stylists. I have always loved Aveda products and the shop was so clean and urban, I felt safe making an appt. I was careful to explain exactly the style I wanted for my long hair (nearly to my bra strap) I even brought a picture and used words such as "Trimmed" and "Shaped" to avoid the "Cut". The stylist was friendly and had a trendy, fun hairstyle herself, so I felt that i was in good hands. She began to cut...taking tiny amounts off the ends and I started to relax. But she continued to cut and cut, keeping me turned away from the mirror. It seemed to be taking forever. Finally I asked her to stop and let me see it. When she turned the chair around, my hair was now above my shoulders! I was shocked, actually stunned and all I could say was- "It's short!" Her remark came immediately "Well, what do you want me to do? Glue it back on?" I stood up, took off the cape and said "I am leaving and I am NOT paying for this" She informed me that she "Did not want your money anyway" I asked to see the Manager and was informed THIS was the manager. As I was walking out, she said "Well, your hair looks fabulous!" I turned to her and said "I am the customer and ONLY I get to decide that. and You failed" I called Aveda's customer service dept. to let them know how their products were being represented and they informed me that the person who cut my hair was in fact the OWNER of the salon. They were very glad I had called. My hair grew back eventually and now I have a great "Worst Salon Story Ever" but I would imagine this stylist is still a nightmare waiting to happen. read more
