This place LACKS CUSTOMER SERVICE. They screwed up coloring my daughter's hair so much. It was a simple trim, dye job & weave. Looks nothing like her reference pictures. This piece of crap, Nichole, had the nerve to deny her shoddy work & hung up on us when we tried to see if the problem could be fixed. I waited and waited for the gal to get me back for a pedicure and watched her just walk around. She kept looking over at me and not saying a thing. Finally took me back, and I tried making small talk. She was not very friendly, and was a bit rough. She proceeded to upcharge me? because I asked if she could rub my legs a biy more. Meh... I've been to salons/spas all over the world, and this one is definitely in the lower tier. The name implies a Hawaiian theme, but there is no "aloha" spirit here. After several visits and a variety of services, the services were average at best. Professionalism and customer service are also lacking. This clearly is a small town, low end salon. What a cute place! From the moment that you are warmly welcomed to the time you leave, the staff are amazing. The facial that I received was amazing- top 5 best I've ever had. I went to Ola' for the first time this week and had the best pedi/mani from Angela. I was so appreciative and lucky that she could take me in, being a walk-in. She did an excellent job! I was headed on a trip and needed to do quite a few services and was calling sort of last minute. She was so helpful arranging my day at the spa, great job. I think sometimes the receptionists is so key for a salon- and she knocked it out of the park. The pedicure and manicure I had was amazing!! Great people working there. I also used the tanning and waxing service. The entire staff was soooo nice and I will definitely go back. I decided to go on a whim. I am from the city of Chicago and have been to some great spas- but these ladies are all about service, service, service. The spa as well is a nice atmosphere and to create a warm, inviting experience. I look forward to my next trip there. read more

I had such a great experience with Kristen when I got my eyebrows done a couple weeks ago! All the girls were so sweet and so when I mentioned I had been wanting to get my hair done soon the girls were so sweet and offered to schedule me an appointment! Fast forward to today - my hair appointment day - and I show up and have my 7 month old son with me. I was politely greeted by Nicole who was my stylist and she told me she was going to be unable to fulfill my appointment with my son there - she explained it was because of length of appt. and chemicals. I apologized and told her I totally understand! I'm a single mom and I know when I take my son to appointments there's a chance this scenario could happen! She didn't really respond after I said I totally understood, so I politely told her it was nice meeting her and thanked her for her time. I got in the car and reflected on the situation and realized it was a little odd to me that she did not offer to reschedule my appointment for a time when I did not have my son. There was no "do you think you could find someone within the next couple minutes to watch him?" or "would you like to reschedule for another time when you are able to come by yourself?" I really thought it was odd how abrupt the conversation ended and she just sent me on my way. This could have been future business for her if she would have offered a reschedule, but now I'm a little turned off. Maybe she was frustrated that a time slot was wasted on an appointment she was unable to complete, but I really think she could have provided at least a little bit of customer service. I don't want to write off Ola completely because of how great my experience was the first time, but maybe I will just stick to waxing with Kristen and find a hair salon elsewhere. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at Ola and will be back! They were able to squeeze me in for a quick lip wax one Saturday morning. As I walked in, they were having mimosas for a birthday and asked if I wanted to share in the birthday girl's toast. After I got my lip waxed, they topped off my drink as I perused the cute selection of earrings and I ended up getting a the perfect, very unique pair for my trip the next week to New Orleans. Overall, a wonderful stop for personable people who treat you like family from day one! read more
