My rating is for the customer service. The haircut for my toddler was fine (simple trim and bangs), but the service I received was not. I chose this place because I was able to make an appointment online and there were openings on the time and date I needed. Also their price for a kids haircut according to that website was cheaper than most places. We were running 5 minutes late on an icy day so it's not like we could drive any faster. Plus anyone knows having young kids could mean getting out the house later than planned. Well I called to let them know we were running just a few minutes late and the person who answered basically said "well hurry because I have an appointment right after". We rushed and I was basically a hot mess, even almost getting hit by a car in the parking lot, dropping our kid's shoes on the street as I carried her running into the salon. I did not want to miss our appointment because it was much needed. As we rushed into the salon, the lady we had an appointment with Sonja) and another hair stylist were staring at us and I had this feeling they were talking about me. This made me feel weird and self conscious and embarrassed. The haircut took barely 5 minutes and I'm sure the next customer wouldn't have minded waiting a min or two and yes I understand this is why we have appointments, but it sucks when businesses lack empathy, understanding, warmth and compassion. Do NOT go to this awful place. I went to this place for over a year to Sara Strang, and I tried to get over how unprofessional it was because I was scared to go anywhere else. The last time I went there, I asked for rose pink hair with a dirty root, they gave me neon orange with a complete root line. She just slopped on the dye while she was doing it, and didn't even bother with the dirty root, just left an ugly root line. All over my head were different shades of orange and even purples. I also asked for a short hairstyle that I showed them pictures of, and it was the most horrific haircut I had ever gotten. The back was choppy. It look like I had take scissors to the back of my own hair during a life crisis. I also asked for it to be long enough to put in a ponytail. That did not happen. I had to pay $300 to get it fixed by another salon. And when I asked the girl who cause this for a refund, she bullied me and said no. When I spoke to the salon owner, she said there was nothing she can do. read more

There are A LOT of stylists in Bend/Central Oregon who do not work on Saturday's or past 5 pm, which is a huge problem when you work Mon - Fri 8 to 5. I heard good things about Bamboo on FB so I decided to try them out. Bonus, they're open late and they work on Saturday's! I visited Jinny today and she was awesome! Yikes. You know how when you get a haircut they pull it to the front and compare ends? Yeah that didn't happen. It was styled at the end of the cut so this 1 1/4 inch difference wasn't visible to me before leaving. Otherwise the layers and shape are good I guess? Wish I could get my tip back. read more

Do NOT get your nails done here!!! I would give this zero stars if I could. I've never written a yelp review, but I felt so inclined to do so due to the awful, unprofessional experience we had. I would love to see proof that Kallie (sp?) and Sonya have nail tech/aesthetician licenses to do nails. We're from Portland and came in for gel manicures on vacation and got the worst hack job ever! My sister in law was given no manicure, no nail trim, no filing, no cuticle maintenance, just slapped on some polish and charged her $50!!! We didn't know it at the time, but then I was only charged $35 for the same service?!? I needed gel removed from a previous manicure and my nails were destroyed, followed by the worst manicure I've ever had. Bubbles, glopped on, uneven, missing paint... We will be calling and complaining to management as well. read more

I searched and searched to find someone that was conveniently located, and who could color and cut fine hair. Jinny Mills at Bamboo Salon and Spa is excellent. Jinny listens to what you want and then proceeds to do an incredible job in perfecting the cut and color. The extra bonus is that she also does gel nails. I purchased the facial Groupon (knowing I would be in town in the near future), read several reviews, & scheduled an appointment with Anita. The experience was amazing! While this wasn't my first facial I was very pleased with the treatment and walked out knowing I will schedule again. Anita's approach is very professional. She wants you to feel absolutely comfortable with everything from the room, to the products, to the service she is providing. The pricing is reasonable - I travel a lot for work and am fortunate to partake in hotel/resort spa services. My only reminder would be - facials will make your skin VERY transparent. We arrived early for our appt and they didn't offer us anything to drink or speak with us until they were 10 min late to bring us back. They offered us drinks because they were running be hind. Their selection of nail polish was extremely small. It seems the salon doesn't provide it, the women to do the nails have their own selection. It's been 4 days and my gel shellac is already peeling off from the base on all of my nails. For a $35 dollar manicure it was not good compaired to the $20 ones I usually get at just a little nail salon. read more

Clean, friendly salon. Jessica is great for nails - very responsive and doesn't try to scam you into paying for things you don't want or need, like a lot of salons. Had gels a few weeks ago and two peeled off within a week. I called Jessica and she got me in ASAP to fix them, no charge. Great little salon - cute for sure! Had a double appt booked with my mother in law. There is a back room for mani pedis with multiple chairs in it. We had some wine while we had our nails done and it was fab. The girls did great work, unfortunately they had booked themselves really tight that day so it felt a bit rushed. And my french mani was peeling within a day. :( I'm just hard on my nails I guess. Overall a great salon and I'd come back. Loved that we could drink some wine and chill! read more

A neat, well-run salon with professionals, the shining star at the salon is Hoa Popescu. She is a highly skilled artist whether it is coloring, highlighting or cutting the perfect cut. First, the location could not be better and offers lots of parking. The salon is only 2 years old so it is bright and shiny and clean. I had my second pedicure with Anita; perfect both times! She offered me a color changing polish which I was hesitant about as the color it changes to was in question. She put it on her nail and we walked out into the sun for the true affect; loved it! I repeated the same polish the second time. About the pedicure chairs. They are using the removable bowls so you can be sure there is no bacteria lurking in the pipes waiting to infect your feet. The chairs are vibrating and the area the bowl fits into also vibrates and is heated so the water stays warm. This time I took a friend and we enjoyed a glass of wine while we were pampered. Lisa (the owner) took care of her mini pedi and mani and she didn't have to leave her chair. I highly recommend Bamboo Salon and Spa. I plan to return for a facial! read more

On a drive to Bend for the weekend, I realized how badly I needed a pedicure. Grabbed my phone, checked Yelp, and found that even after-hours, I could book an appointment online for the next day. This salon is gorgeous, and my technician, Jessica, was great - and makes a mean mimosa! Located next door to the renovated Econolodge, it was a pretty convenient walk across the parking lot for me. If I lived in Bend, this would definitely be my regular spot! read more
