I had a great experience at Lemon Drop Salon. Dani gave me a much-needed long haircut, and I…read moreusually hesitate to get trims because I worry about losing length. I've often ended up with hair shorter than I wanted in the past, but Dani really listened to what I was asking for. She delivered a beautiful long, layered cut that felt true to my goals while still giving my hair shape and movement. Even weeks later, I'm still loving it and constantly happy with how it looks. The atmosphere in the shop is calm and relaxing, which really sets the tone for a comfortable, easy, and unhurried experience. I'm already looking forward to going back to her for future services.

I went to Lemon Drop Salon with a very specific inspiration photo and had already discussed the…read morelook with my stylist, Josie, during a consultation. I wanted a short silver pixie with visible dimension and texture, and I was very clear that I was comfortable with having more hair cut off. I paid about $300, but unfortunately the result did not resemble what I had asked for enough for me to feel satisfied with either the color or the cut. The color came out much flatter and grayer than the dimensional silver look in my reference photo, and the haircut was much more conservative than I expected. What disappointed me most was the salon's response when I contacted them afterward. I was told that my hair was already very similar to the inspiration photo, that highlights could not be done because my hair was too short, and that once my natural color grew in I would have the "exact look." That explanation did not match what I was seeing in the mirror, and it also left me wondering why those limitations were not discussed clearly before the service was performed and charged at that price. I understand that inspiration photos are not guarantees and that every person's hair is different. I did not expect a carbon copy. I did expect the consultation to result in a shared understanding of what was realistically achievable before a $300 service began. I will be going elsewhere to have the cut and color corrected.

My hair just keeps getting BETTER and BETTER each and every time I go back to Susan Harman for…read moreanother haircut! I recently went back to Susan in January for a cut and a partial highlight. I didn't think it would be possible - but I liked this haircut even more than the last one she gave me (which I absolutely ADORED!). She just did a trim, and didn't take too much off in terms of overall length, but she added in a little bit more longer layers this time - which I love. When getting ready for work in the morning, I have the option of blow drying out my hair to make it sleek and styled OR just scrunching it up from the bottom and letting it air dry - and it dries on my way to work just perfectly. And, the highlight color she put in is just enough - it's noticeable but not in your face obvious that I got my hair highlighted, and looks totally natural while at the same time, lightening everything up. Thank you so much Susan for the best haircuts and colors I've ever received! I'll be back for sure ... and can't wait until next time to see what magic Susan pulls off with her scissors and hair color next!

Susan was the first stylist I had in San Francisco that I felt actually understood how to make me…read morelook *good*... and by that I mean listen to what I want, and understand how to translate "I barely know what I'm talking about" into "amazing hair"... she was also the first stylist I EVER had in whose chair I could flop down and say "I dunno'... just fix it" and she would. I was perpetually thrilled with the work she did and shook my fists at the heavens when she moved down to SoCal. Now that she's in Bend, I recommend everyone go to her and Bend will quickly become the Milan of hair! Okay, seriously, though. She's not only amazing at the cool stuff ladies get to do with their hair, but she's pretty awesome at the super nitpicky men's haircuts as well. She is super quick to learn where booby traps are (i have this one spot that will shoot straight up if you cut it just a centimeter shorter than I tend to want it) and will remember them and work with them. Men, if you want an amazing haircut, go to Susan. Heterosexual ladies (or bisexual ladies in a relationship with a dude) if you want to treat your guy to an amazing cut, send him to Susan (and book one yourself... she'll do ya' both up REAL nice!)... really, anyone with hair, go to Susan.
