Just a local dive bar. Dark and dank. Cheap drinks. Service is hit or miss. Great location. Oakland Gyros right next door. Yay.

A dive bar in Milwaukee that is not too special and is very dark. Plenty of room in this bar although service could be better.

We got there on the earlier side, around 5:15 on a Tuesday, and it was already filling up. By the time we left there were already no tables available. Menus are hanging on the wall... so you'll see some people standing gin the middle of the room looking at the wall. It's a bad setup, considering how crowded it gets in here. A QR code on the table with an online menu might be a better option? Or come in to yelp and check out their menu! I've added pictures below. Bartenders were superb and the food was quite amazing. Crispy Brussel Sprouts: If you hate Brussel sprouts, skip it, but if you want to give it a chance, I'd say this is the place to do it. 1/2 LB Burger is actually cheaper than the Brussel sprouts. They complement each other quite well. It can get quite loud inside, so not your romantic spot (go down the street to Buttermint for that), but if you're looking for a fun, loud, delicious spot, this is it. UPDATE 3/2024 The steak salad is absolutely gorgeous to look at and delicious to the tastebuds. Dressing is probably not keto friendly, but I love it so much!! Maybe try to ask for the dressing on the side next time.. UPDATE - 6/2025 - no longer on the menu SAD. Steak Sandwich is flavorful according to Hany.

It's great that they offer a few non-beer alternatives for those who prefer our alcohol sans hops. Service was good when I visited. The bartender seemed pretty involved with the patrons already seated inside, but he did what needed to be done efficiently. And yes, it is dog friendly, which is great if you're a dog looking for night out at the bar. I find myself getting a little tired of never finding an animal free patio space anymore - don't get your pitchforks - I love them, but I'm allergic. Also, my cats and I appreciate some "me time" so they're just as glad that I leave then alone when I go out and don't force them to come with me to the bar. I think so dogs might feel the same.

Date of visit: November 20, 2025…read more We had not been here in years, but came with some friends for the Milwaukee County Historical Society trivia. It definitely seemed that the staff here were simply not prepared for the volume of people that came out to celebrate the area and support the Historical Society. Emma, our server, was definitely trying, but not always succeeding, neglecting to enter in some parts of the order until far later into the evening (our friends didn't receive their order of garlic bread for about 45 minutes after their entrees were delivered) though oddly enough, she was always ready to bring someone another alcoholic beverage. Thankfully the food I had was pretty good, the grilled cheese sandwich paired well with their tomato bisque soup--I took a chance on the soup not being a traditional tomato soup fan (Campbell's? Gross!) but I found Three Lions version to be hearty and flavorful, definitely a combo that I would get again in the future. I would just come on a night when they could keep up with the crowds far better! Pro tip: Ask for croutons for the soup, they elevated a good soup to an amazing soup.

The atmosphere is authentic and welcoming, whether you're stopping in for a pint, a match, or a full meal. Service has always been friendly and efficient, even when it's busy. It feels like a true neighborhood pub rather than a themed bar, which is exactly why it stands out. Great place to relax, watch soccer, and actually enjoy the experience.

You scan a QR code to get the up-to-date list of all available beverages, and it is quite the list. You order beverages and food right at the bar. It was not overly busy so everything arrived quickly. I had a sour beer from Minnesota, I do not recall the name but I LOVED it and it was, of course, the very last one in stock lol. Ordered the corn ribs and chicken tenders appetizers. The corn ribs are so creative and delicious - the elote sauce is seriously addictive. Chicken tenders and fries were also very good, the tenders were quite large and had a cripsy, light outside and cooked to perfection. Foxhole offers daily specials and activities like bingo and trivia during the week. Overall it is a really fun, laid back vibe (fire pit and seating outside, there's even a free arcade machine!), and I look forward to checking out the daily specials in the very near future :)

It started out fantastic, but after we received our food, we were never checked on again and actually had to literally chase down our server to get the bill. Outside there were three tables of people, one large group who was waiting for the baseball shuttle and just drinking. Two larger tables were set up as reserved inside. They slowly filled as we ate our meal. And one other table of two came in after us. There were maybe 4 people at the bar. All this to say, it wasn't crazy busy by any stretch. We started with one server (who was really good) who took our order then we were handed off to another (who wasn't bad). When we arrived we were one of two tables inside. There were three servers on the floor and two behind the bar which was adequate for the number of people dining. Our initial server apparently was working the reserved seating, but even still, the second server never checked on us after we received our food. Also, we didn't receive our entire order. We weren't charged for the food we didn't get, but had anyone stopped by to refill water or see if we wanted more drinks, we could have asked about the missing food. So, all in all, not the worst dining experience ever, but not the best. Being ignored is never fun.
