We've now had no intercom or buzzer service for 3 weeks, since the exterior Acuvox unit failed. Douglas removed the unit and said he was requesting a warranty replacement, but he failed to keep 2 appointments and now has ghosted entirely--he doesn't respond to repeated text/email/phone queries from either us or from Acuvox (who we asked to intervene). Even prior to this, he had been absolutely infuriating with regard to responding to calls and texts or keeping appointments. The stuff he puts up about quality service and satisfaction is simply meaningless boasting. This is not a business-like business or run according to professional standards. We would not hire him again--probably no one should--and have asked Akuvox, the maker of our equipment to help us find another installer. Update: Here's what we don't see in Wayne's response--A genuine apology for leaving us in the lurch; a genuine explanation for ghosting both us and Acuvox; an acknowledgment that this was his problem and that he is determined to fix it immediately. Because, you know, customer satisfaction and all. Instead, he emails me separately and says he'll mail us the unit he has been sitting on for weeks, and that's it. John, who answered the phone, was also the technician who showed up, at the appointed time. He looked at my system and explained who manufactured it, what it features were, and how it could be expanded. The first order of business was to get the non-functioning camera working. An hour later, it was. It required multiple trips between the camera and the recording unit to reconfigure the system to working order! An expert was definitely needed. He then gave me a quote for two new cameras, and wiring the system for external monitoring. We scheduled that install for today and John again showed up exactly on time. This time it took 3 hours. The work was: Two cameras installed with wires neatly run, extra network switches installed, and the system connected to the internet. The network cables within the visitor areas were hidden behind the ceilings and walls. He focused the existing cameras and my system literally looks sharp. He showed how to install phone apps for monitoring, configured the apps, and like magic, I can monitor my business from anywhere!

We didn't get a name of the camera name they were going with as we did previously for the first set of cameras, we were just told they would be either the same price point or maybe a little more. Since we were able to verify the first model of cameras having a $300+ price point, it would make sense to expect similar camera models, especially when you are told so. After asking several times what brand and model the new cameras were that they installed, I finally was able to figure it out without their cooperation. They wouldn't reveal the camera brand or model and it made sense why once I discovered the actual price of the cameras. They retail for $40-60 each; I was charged $559 for both. This was not the installation or setup fee, the installation fee was separate. $559 was just for the 2 cameras. After getting the run around and excuses such as their vendor charging them that amount, some warranty spiel, and rush delivery from their vendor (easily available on Amazon in 24 hours), I asked for at least some documentation on their end to validate this, but I was denied and said it goes against their "business practice." Apparently being honest with your customers goes against their business practice as well. Avoid at all costs.
