I had a remodel project at my home and called this company for an estimate, I wish I hadn't. My husband is a contractor for commercial and residential projects and has accounts with Kaiser Permanente and St. John hospital as well as high end residential clients in Hollywood Hills and believes in paying it forward to companies with food business practice. I was appalled after I had my estimate prepared from Carlos for some replacement blinds for coverings that either were damaged in the flood of my home or just needed to be replaced. I called a few days later and we played a bit of phone tag which is understandable due to schedule conflicts. I then started speaking to Carloe regarding my estimate and a item I forgot to include, I had my husband take the measurement and left a voicemail the following day. The holiday passed and I called to follow up since I hadn't heard back and left about three voicemails on different days. Please note that their outgoing message did not say they were closed until Monday and I placed the initial call with the measurements on a Tuesday. Well today I get this text from Carol: I felt the need to text you today to let you know I received all three of your messages. We closed early Friday do to the HOLIDAY weekend and will not be available until Monday. This is a very very small job according to us and you best go to Home Depot to get your coverings. We are sorry we can't help you. Having wanted to put shutters in the house for many years, I saw various shutters at friend' residences over the years and would ask them for referrals. Having amassed a handful of names and numbers and thinking of how confusing it would be to get so many different sales pitches about how good their companies were, I decided to check on Yelp. Having never used Yelp, I decided to check several companies. After looking at the helpful reviews, I decided on having two companies come to my home and give me estimates. Having dealt with various salesmen over the years you sort of build up a good sense of who is giving you a line and who is sincere. From the minute Carlos knocked on my door, and on time I may add, I had a good feeling about him. He was calm, mild mannered and very professional in his presentation of his work product. Having never really talked about the intricacies of blinds, he cleared up a lot of misconceptions that my wife and I had. He had a great assortment of blinds and options and answered every question we had of him. Another impressive thing about him, was that when his cell phone would ring while giving his presentation, he didn't answer the phone. He gave us his undivided attention. After walking through the entire house, measuring and answering my questions as we went along, he sat down and put everything to paper and gave me his estimate. He was not pushy, aggressive and overbearing on selling his company and their product as he left my house. I told him that I would call him on my decision. A second company came in the next day and was totally the opposite of Carlos, very aggressive and calling me off the hook. He sounded desperate for work. His estimate was much lower than I had imagined for seventeen windows with shutters and one blind. I called Carlos and he came to our house and I placed the order for our shutters. Several weeks later, when the shutters arrived, he called me and we figured out a installation date. On the date of the install, Carlos called to let me know he was enroute to my house. He was also on time and arrived with his son Richard. My mother-in-law is living with me and is under Hospice care and is in a very fragile state physically. I had requested that he install the shutters in her room at the end of the job so as to not inconvenience her too much. He was very accommodating and understood. The install was clean, quick and flawless. He gave me a time frame on how long it would take to do the job and he was a half hour under that time. He made it seem like he wasn't even in the house and kept the noise down to a minimum for my mother in law. He walked us through the job at its conclusion to ensure we had no issues. On the issue we did have, his son took care of it. He and his son were outstanding and I will recommend him to all my friends, associates and family.
