So when I read in the store that the business was born in Evansville, Indiana and that Parlor is an Indiana based business, I was very surprised. The dining room is unique. Only one soup -- the soup of the day, which changes and happened to be parmesan kale on the day that I visited. Sold! What's more comforting than hot tea and a warm bowl of soup? The soup was creamy and had bits of kale and chicken in it. Almost like a chicken velvet soup (my favorite), but more earthy from the greens. The soup came with croutons, if you wished to add a little crunch to the creaminess. The people behind the counter were super friendly and efficient. They have to be, because Cabin Coffee also has a drive-thru, so they're helping customers from every angle. The inside of the cafe really does look like a cabin. There's also a little nook for kids with a mini table and chairs. There's also a semi-private meeting room, which I saw was reserved for a Bible study group. I HAD to try the Beach Day Latte. The latte was made perfectly. The icing on the cake was the house made coconut cold foam! Ohmygoodness- it was delicious. The breakfast sandwich was standard. I noticed some coupons displayed in the window and asked if I could have the coupon sheet to use on my return trip. This is not uncommon because they give these to customers to use. He was about to give them to me when another barista stopped him and said that the ones he was handing me were their last sheet. I was a bit confused, since the coupons were clearly displayed in the drive-thru window, and I wondered if more could simply be printed. When I asked, I was told they hadn't received additional sheets yet, so they couldn't give out the last ones. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be any effort to offer an alternative or accommodate the request, which was disappointing. I ended up leaving feeling a bit uncomfortable despite the great service from Marcus.
