It's a small park, it's very nice . On weekends you will see horses visit the park w/ their owners. Nice picnic area.

Horrible parking with less than respectful visitors. Smells like manure most of the time due to horses.

Love this city! The houses are so cute, people are do friendly and seeing the casual horse riders walk their horses is so awesome.

This park may look small but is much bigger when you come for a visit. My husband, our little girl dog and I have been to this part a handful of times for dog play dates and also recently to take our family photo. The park has beautiful backdrops that would be perfect for any photo shoot. But also a place to walk (there is a loop trail here that you can walk), (covered) picnic tables, a fireplace and a playground. There are also restrooms available. This park does provide some shade and is very beautiful when the flowers are in bloom. There is also plenty of greenery. The park is pretty quiet and has always been an enjoyable visit for us.

Love the fact the parking is close to the park entrance and several co-located picnic benches for those with mobility issues. There was a small rose garden along the walking path in front of the stage, with built in benches around it in case you need a seat. Lots of beautiful open grass space, incredible playground, and impressive an coffee stand. This is what our communities look like when we invest in them. Great job La Puente local government and residents. You all rock! The basketball courts looked fun as well! I don't play but plenty of young people were enjoying all the recreational offerings as we older folks danced the night away!

Unfortunately the people who come here have birthday parties on weekly take over the grassy areas and leave so much garbage behind, bathrooms are left filthy. I always come on Sunday mornings and bring a trash bag to help clean the park up as I live across the street and the garbage bring back coyotes and possums. It's the perfect quick escape -- close enough…read moreto civilization for convenience, yet far enough to leave the hustle and bustle of traffic and city life behind. Right now the cherry blossoms are in full, breathtaking bloom, turning parts of the park into a dreamy pink wonderland. The wildlife is thriving too: squirrels galore that are so bold they'll walk right up to your feet if you sit still and stay calm. On warmer days I've spotted rattlesnakes scurrying across the trails, so I always recommend staying in the middle of the paths as a safety precaution. From the main entrance at Colima Road, you can choose the paved walkway or head straight for the dirt trails depending on your mood. I usually make my way toward the horse stables and equestrian area -- watching the horses get fed or running around their enclosures is one of my favorite parts. Just be mindful of the occasional big mounds of horse droppings on the trails; it's a small price to pay for the beauty. The park is generally very clean, with plenty of trash cans scattered throughout. There are numerous benches, picnic areas, fire pits perfect for groups, a children's playground, and even a seasonal creek with several charming wooden bridges crossing directly over it (though the water is pretty dry now that the rainy season is over). You'll also notice signs posted along the trails warning about bobcats and mountain lions. I've been coming here regularly for six months and haven't heard or seen any myself, but I've seen quite a few hikers carrying pepper spray as a precaution. Just be safe out there. Weekends get busy with families celebrating birthdays and enjoying the outdoors, but it's all part of the lively atmosphere. For dog lovers, there are two fantastic off-leash dog parks right near the front entrance -- one for large dogs and one for medium/small dogs. Outside of those areas, dogs must be on leash per the signs. The hilltop trails offer absolutely stunning panoramic views that make every visit worthwhile. My only heads-up: the park is officially closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (per LA County rules), but a lot of locals park across the street at the nearby mall and walk in through the gates anyway. If you're in the Rowland Heights/Hacienda Heights area and looking for a beautiful regional park with trails, nature, horses, cherry blossoms, and those lovely wooden bridges over the creek, I highly recommend Schabarum. Just bring water, wear good shoes, keep an eye out for those snakes in the summer, and stay aware on the trails! 5/5 -- I'll definitely be back soon.

There's a pretend airplane for kids; there's a small tropical playground where toddlers can run into a cat's mouth; and there's a lot of nets for climbing. This location is open from 5AM to 10PM. Did I feel safe? Yes. This park only had families with children. It's also one of the West Covina Parks that confidently post their rules. There's many signs labeled "Park Watch" to keep residents safe. What utilities? There's two main playgrounds. One play ground has an airplane that kids can climb into. That same playground has nets where they can freely climb; the floor is spongey foam, so they have a soft landing. The other playground is tropical and fenced. Toddlers can run near plastic trees, and there's a plastic cat with an open mouth where they can sprint through. The location also has a fenced baseball field; there's a public shaded patio with tables; and there's public park gym equipment equipped with umbrellas for shade. There's also a restroom and water fountains. What are the negatives? This location doesn't feel very pet friendly. I didn't see any pet waste bags, and there's not really a walking area. There's a possible concrete walking loop, but visitors will be walking on the sidewalk. Also, it lacks many common utilities (example: no basketball courts, no tennis courts, etc). Overall, Palm View Park squeaks into a 5 Star because it feels memorable for families. The playgrounds are very adorable, and I like how there's beautiful, big trees near the seating area. If searching for some interesting playgrounds, this is a good choice if already nearby. 4.5 out of 5
