Endodontists have a couple more years of training beyond that of general dentists. They are experts of assessing tooth pain and, where necessary, doing root canals. Some general dentists do root canals. However, I understand it's difficult to remove ALL the pulp from within the roots because they are curved and the shapes vary from one person to another. If the job is not done thoroughly, it may have to be done all over again. My general dentist wanted to do my second root canal but I refused even though he offered to do it at about 60% of the cost I paid Dr Marshall. Far as I'm concerned, the extra cost for an endodontist is well worth it and I question why the dental regulators even allow general dentists to do root canals. I've had two root canals by Dr Marshall, the first one being very elusive as to which tooth was causing the problem. Dr Marshall took gobs of time to make sure to find the correct tooth. Both times there was no pain or other discomfort and the whole procedure was quite entertaining. He is very personable and it's very reassuring to know you have a top expert taking care of this kind of problem.

I was a patient with this practice for several years and was happy with the care I received. Then…read moreCOVID hit. Shortly after COVID my husband was injured on duty. The next few years were filled with specialists visits, following ambulances to the ER, watching my husband life flighted into the trauma center, ect. There wasn't any time for dental visits. Recently, I lost my husband. He did not survive his injuries. On Feb. 21, 2024 I called Bara Dental for an appointment because, on top of everything, else I had just broken a tooth. They advised since it had been a few years since I had been seen, they would have to establish me as a new patient. No appointment until June. I shared about my husband, apparently that and my situation with a new injury didn't matter to them. They wouldn't budge. I also had to endure them justifying this abusive and negligent treatment as they made false claims that I cancelled appointments and was never happy there anyway. Then I was hung up on. One could reason that if I had not been happy with their past service I wouldn't have stayed with that practice. I would have found another dentist. I called a new dentist and explained my situation. They got me in right away.
