I noticed the dizziness was triggered by certain neck movements, though I wasn't nauseous and felt fine as long as I kept my neck straight. It didn't seem related to an inner ear issue, so I decided to visit my chiropractor's office, which has always taken great care of me and my family. Dr. Phil was incredible in helping diagnose the problem, identifying that it was related to misalignment in my neck. After just one visit, I already felt noticeable improvement and could move without triggering dizziness. By the second visit, I was confident that the treatment was truly working. He also recommended a simple neck tool and stretches to support my recovery. Now, I can honestly say I feel back to normal. I no longer worry about sudden dizziness or the room spinning when I move or lie down. For anyone who has experienced vertigo, you know how debilitating it can be--this has truly been life-changing. First time acupuncture patient. The treatment went well. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Faye is a wonderful acupuncturist, she gave great care to my comfort level durring the treatment, always asking if I was feeling any pain or discomfort. Surprisingly I can tell you I felt no pain at all. She was very gental and had a plesent attitude. She treated my chronic knee pain that I had for many years. This was only a single treatment so I didn't expect much. The next day the pain in my knee was still there and to be honest not much better than before the treatment; however, immediately after the treatment that day I did feel some relief, enough to take my brace off the rest of the day. I would have to say it was equivalent to pain meds. I don't like taking pain meds so this was nice. She mentioned to me that chronic pain such as this would take numerous sessions. I did feel some stiffness in my elbow where she applied the needles. This took a few hours to go away. The next day I had no ill effects in that elbow. The only only other negative thing I would have to say is the location is a little out of the way for me. Overall it was great experience, I intend to go back for further treatments and would recommend this to anyone who is also interested in acupuncture. read more

I had my first acupuncture treatment at Aviva acupuncture on Oahu this summer. Our rental car had been rear-ended and I was in pain. Having had a history of neck pain with cervical fusions I am cautious about my approach to new practitioners, but a friend recommended Aviva to us so we made an appointment. Faye was very sensitive to my injury and assured me that she would be extremely gentle and careful to only help me. Rather amazingly the treatment only took 15 minutes rather than the usual 45min and I had fairly immediate relief of the pain in my neck. I was so surprised. I kept waiting for the pain to come back but the best thing was it didn't come back and allowed me to enjoy the rest of my vacation. It was such a surprising and pleasant experience I would definitely recommend Aviva acupuncture to anyone and I will go back there when we return to Hawaii. Faye has learned advanced acupuncture applications that I had never had before and the difference between the traditional and hers was that the pain subsided almost immediately! read more

Dr. Faye is a very knowledgeable and trustworthy acupuncturist and herbalist. You can tell she really cares about your overall health and comfort throughout the whole treatment and is extremely passionate about what she does. I have been to other acupuncturists who either don't make me feel as comfortable because they seem to be rushing to get their next client, or I don't get what I want from the treatment. Dr. Faye is confident in her technique and meticulous in finding the source of your suffering, and it makes the whole process feel smooth and any anxiety about receiving acupuncture go away. She is also up front and honest about what to expect from the treatment, namely that one treatment won't be a permanent solution, and she doesn't try to push any gimmicks onto you. What she does do is offer her best acupuncture care as well as diet and nutrition recommendations for an overall healthier and happier you. Dr. Faye is definitely someone I will be recommending to anyone I know who is in need of pain relief or relief from sickness. read more

When I first came to her, I was dealing with constant neck and left shoulder pain, sciatica that would flare unpredictably, and lingering back pain that made long days of studying and working really difficult. Over time, her treatments have helped ease that tension in ways I didn't think were possible. After each session, I feel lighter--like my body can finally exhale. What I appreciate most about her is how deeply she listens. She doesn't just ask where it hurts and move on. She takes the time to understand what I'm feeling, how long it's been happening, and what might be contributing to it. There's something incredibly grounding about being heard that way. I never feel rushed, and I never feel dismissed. She creates a space that feels safe and calm, which already starts the healing process before the treatment even begins because my pain is validated and she listens intently. She takes time in understanding the cause and effects of the pain I suffer. She also explains everything. She'll tell me which auricular points she's working on, how they connect to my neck, shoulder, sciatic nerve, or lower back, and what I might expect to feel.
