Had a confirmation for a rental and ubered to this Avis location. Showed up at the Avis location and the guy plainly stated "we have no cars today." To which we replied "we have a confirmation" and he just repeated the same thing. Also, he said he tried to call the number listed, but there was no missed call. This is unacceptable and why apps like Turo are putting these kinds of places out of business. Absolutely horrendous customer service. Another customer walked up at 12:58pm and he locked the door as they were coming. She stood there and finally he opened the door. Don't rent a car from here. read more

We reserved a car well in advance from this avis location for a long drive that we are taking to Alabama for my partner's grandmothers funeral! We were planning on getting the car when it opened and leaving soon after 8am, we put the reservation in well in advance online yesterday morning, and instead of calling us that day to let us know that they did not have any cars available, we get a call from the lady that works there at 6:50 am on the morning we are set to depart, telling us that there were no card available at that location, and we could call around to other avis locations to see if anyone else had any vehicles available to rent... The ladies tone was less than apologetic, nor did it seem like she was advocating by looking up other locations in the area that might have cars on such a short notice, now we are forced to call around to other locations in order to see if there are any vehicles available to rent for our trip from Columbus, down to Alabama! Taking away travel time and time spent with his family, and father who's mother just passed... putting us there even later depending on when/who has an available car! We made the reservations well within the business day yesterday, and got confirmation that a car would be reserved... but instead of getting a call on the day we reserved the car telling us that there would not be any available, an advocating for their potential customers and clients by looking/calling around to another location and being forthcoming with the information to rectify the issue... we get a call literally an hour before we were to come get the call, and the only thing that the representative said was... "I am calling to let you know that we do NOT have any available cars at this location for you, and when we told her we made the reservation and got confirmation.., the only reply she had for us was... sorry there is nothing we can do, it happens... but you can call other Avis locations to see if there is any cars available for you to rent today!" Her tone was neither sorry, nor did she care to even bother to compensate or try to make the incident a little easier on us! She was just like, well "I'm sorry there is nothing we can do for you! The customer service was terrible, and if you rent a car from this location I recommend that you go in and get the car in person as opposed to reserving the car online... because it seems online reservations take last priority and they don't seem to care enough about their customers to give them a heads up in the same day, nor have an alternate location or solution to the issue of nothing being available to the point that they will not call you and let you know till the morning that you go to rent the car... and the only solution they offer is a tone that they shrug it off and say, oh well! Sorry for you... we can't do anything for you! My suggestion is that if you are in the Lewis center/Westerville area the location on Powell, is go in make sure the reservations are done in person and the car is secured... or go to a different location that will be a bigger place, and call in advance about your rental and making sure all is secured unless you like having poor customer service and a "courtesy" call an hour before you leave from a not so courteous rental agent, telling that you basically F*ed and it's up to u to find another location somewhere and getting your vehicle from there! This situation could have been avoided, taken care of and handled a lot better had we got the call when the reservation went through and told the day we made it, that this specific location had no cars, and as a rental company that deals with people traveling on a last minute basis, I would think that they would have called the nearest locations using the information from the online reservation and had a solution to the situation prepared and the information and location of an avid close by that definitely would be able to accommodate! I do not recommend reserving your car online from this Avis location, because the rental agents are neither sorry for any inconvenience, nor happy to help! More so, she was more than happy to say, oops! Sorry we don't have anything for you... but please feel free to call ANOTHER of our companies and continue to do service with us! We usually rent cars from here, but after this incident don't waste your time and go to a different location!! I rented from the place back at the end of May. The car was ready when we arrived and everyone was nice. No issues at all.

I reserved a car on Priceline today at 8:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m pickup. I showed up just after 10:00 only to be told that they don't have any rentals. This location overbooks on purpose so you better call before you show up. Then, I drove several miles down the road to another Budget Rental location and walked right in without a reservation and they had plenty of vehicles available. This is terrible customer service. Even a phone call at 10:00 a.m. could have saved me the hassle of driving 30 minutes for nothing. read more

I did an online reservation at this location on Lazelle Rd. WE arrived the next morning to pick up our rental. The lady behind the counter rudely let us know she had no cars and couldn't look up the reservation. She told us to call customer service. I asked if she could do that, NO! I had prepaid also. We had to leave because she was rude and it was escalating. Called in to customer service they did a refund and took a formal complaint. I have rented here before, something changed. It's rough inside with no staff. Won't be back. Shame on you Avis ! read more

Staff is always accommodating. Issues happen often with rental companies outside of the locations control, but they always do their best.

This is the most awful place in the world. The woman who owns the place, Denise, literally cussed at me in front of my six year old child because I didn't have credit card on me. She then told me to "get a job" and that I was. "Loser" in front of my six year old. He started crying. She is a horrible, despicable woman. Do not give this place your business. Go elsewhere and support kind people instead. I'm filing formal charges through the Avis company as we speak. read more

I prepaid for a minivan rental on 3/27/18 for a total of $590.07 with a pick-up date/time of 6/7/18 at 5:30 PM and a return date/time of 6/16 at 12:00 PM to be picked up at the Polaris location (store #WV4). Upon ARRIVING at the store, I was informed that there were no minivans in stock and that my replacement vehicle was a Ford Flex. I was told that the Ford Flex seated 7 passengers, so it was comparable to a minivan. It's common knowledge that there are significant differences between a mid-size SUV (i.e. a Ford Flex) and a minivan, and we reserved and prepaid for a minivan for a reason. So, to be informed UPON ARRIVAL that the vehicle we reserved nearly three months prior was no longer available is completely unacceptable. The accompanying attitude that I received from the employee working the front desk was beyond rude and absolutely unhelpful. However, since we were scheduled to leave for our vacation the following morning, we had no choice but to take the Ford Flex. Once we reached our destination, my husband spent several hours over the course of a few days on the phone with other Budget locations in an attempt to locate an available minivan. Finally, three days after arriving at our destination, my husband drove an hour and a half to the Savannah, GA airport to exchange the Ford Flex for a minivan. Certainly not how he wanted to spend his time or energy while on vacation with our family. We dropped the minivan back off at the Polaris location prior to the return time (I have a text verifying the drop off time of 11:59) on 6/16, yet I received an additional charge of $95.32 on my credit card for an additional rental day. Upon discovering this fraudulent charge, I contacted the store manager, Denise, who denied that the charge was made, even though I have proof on my credit card statement. Just like the employee we encountered during the original pick up, Denise was also incredible rude and indignant, and outright lied to me about the additional charge. If you look up other online reviews of the Polaris location, you'll notice that the practice of an additional day's charge is a regular occurrence. THIS IS ILLEGAL!! read more

I rented a car here online and when I went to pick it up they said they did not have one for me, and did nothing to help me. I had 2 toddlers and and all our luggage with me, and it ended up setting back my travel plans by half a day. I don't know if it was the fault of this location or Expedia, through which I booked, but either way, this Budget was unhelpful and understocked. read more

I scheduled a rental car from here over a month ago, charge was under $100 for three (3) days. My travel plans changed and when I went to adjust my booking the total was $240! Another 145% to add ONE DAY (33% more time). I was told by the woman at the counter to never prepay and that I agreed to this when I booked in the terms and conditions (seven pages that no one reads). I called corporate and asked why this was the policy and was told that the policy requires them to re-book the ENTIRE reservation at THAT days rate and not just adding the one day at THAT days rate. I asked if that made sense and was told "that's the policy so yes, it makes sense". I IMMEDIATELY asked the rep "if the new policy at Kroger was to arrest every 3rd person in the checkout line, would that make sense simply because it was the policy?" He wouldn't answer and instead told me I'd agreed to this in the terms and conditions. I cancelled the rental ($50 fee) and re-booked a BRAND NEW rental with ENTERPRISE in Dublin for $91.50, which means with the cancellation of $50 and the re-book that day (Wednesday) of $91.50 I PAID LESS than what Budget was going to ADD to my rental just adding one day. I will NEVER rent from Budget, you shouldn't either. read more

I reserved a car at this location, it was confirmed but was told when I got there they had no cars. I have rented from all of the main rental car companies and this is not the norm. I had hoped that the merger between budget and avis would be great, but it is clear that that is not the case. Poor service and no cars at a car rental company is a deal breaker for me.
