Arriving back in town after 11 hour of travel between Durham and Oakland, I was totally exhausted! I decided to wait a day and get my car the next day while I rested at home. I have to thank the folks at enterprise for their kind and easy service. When I walked on to your lot I was captivated by the blue Camry which was at my price point. It was available! After we found my account and booked the car, I sat in it for a minute and realized where I was going. (I just arrived from across the country yesterday so I was tired!) Remembering that I was about to be on a ridge in Cazadero and there's a bit of rugged terrain on the back dirt roads I'd be traveling, I immediately realized I was in the wrong car. With so much grace we made switch to a Sportage that was also fortunately available. It was so easy. No weird looks, no complaining. Of course I paid an additional $10.00/day and still I've been to places where folks are so overwhelmed they get annoyed first. This team didn't! Well, about 1.5 hours into my trip I receive an emergency alert. Guerneville is flooding, particularly around Russian River. I am soon rerouted. Even though I was familiar with the back roads rolling through Occidental, I haven't driven it in 3 months, it was dark and raining hard I went through some lightly flooded areas, may 1/2-1-1/2 foot high. I couldn't see them before I was in it. I passed one stuck car going in the opposite direction. My hope is that someone in that long line of traffic's stopped, my side was clear. The car handled perfectly!! Once I got on the ranch the miles of uphill on the dirt roads was easy to manage. I'm grateful! I'm glad I took a moment to think ahead. I'm glad the folks made the shift so easy. Now I'm wondering if the Sportage should be my replacement vehicle, and in the long run I'll likely get another CRV. Happy 2026!! Dream big, we need it!!

(I used to rent from the airport but that didn't make much sense after a while.) I have an older car so I prefer to rent a car when I'm traveling more than 300 miles one way. These past few years I've made about 4 trips to Joshua Tree and 5 to Big Bear where I lead mindfulness retreats. I've also been to L.A. and traveled up the coast. In other words, at least for me, I rent a lot from this location. The cars are beautiful and clean. It's been a great sampling experience for me as I rent the various sizes I need. This last trip I really needed an SUV to bring guitars and things for my co-teacher who preferred to fly. In Joshua tree the roads can be rough, so an SUV makes sense. It was also useful for a trip to Arizona when I could just lay back and stretch out a bit as a snow storm passed. Last month I rented a smaller car which was perfect for my trip to L.A.. I got the mileage and it was just great for getting around the city. The gals behind the counter are friendly and efficient. They know the cars. I've seen them be very patient with folks who were having issues, which is a plus. To be honest, their kindness and efficiency, is what brings me back. So yeah, there would likely be more 5 stars of us satisfied folks paused to share our appreciation. Thanks!!

When I called they said it was for vacuuming the car. I disputed the charge and they said someone would call in 5 business days. Never happened. Now the charge is on my credit card. Disputing it with credit card company. No one ever said anything about there needing EXTRA vacuuming when returned. Total scam.

She checked my passport--which I have never experienced at other Alamo or Enterprise locations--and claimed that my passport was expired. I told her that my passport doesn't expire for another eight years. Then she said my visa was expired. I told her at least three times that she might not be looking at the correct page and that I could help her find it, but she completely ignored me. After a while, she finally handed my passport back to me and told me to look for it myself. I found the correct page and showed it to her. She impatiently said, "You have too many visas." Later, because I didn't have a flight number, she kept delaying and refusing to rent me a car, even though I had just returned a car to Alamo at OAK without the flight number and showed her the receipt. Her colleague said, "Some international visitors steal cars or damage them, so we introduced this policy in the Bay Area in the past one or two weeks." I asked him to provide written documentation, but he refused, saying: 1. This is an internal document and cannot be shown to customers. 2. This is a Bay Area-only rule, and you won't find it on the official website. If this rule truly exists, why doesn't it appear in the terms and conditions during online reservation? That way, customers wouldn't waste their time coming here for nothing. As for the prejudice against international visitors, I don't believe international customers can take a car onto a plane and fly it back to our home countries. Please do not believe their response telling you to email customer service--I've already emailed them for a week and have received no reply at all.

At least our plain underpowered Hyundai Venue got good gas mileage (not a car I would ever buy after this). It basically did the job, but when I returned the vehicle, I was handed a receipt which I noticed was for almost $60. I was told I agreed to a full tank of gas at $4.99 a gallon. However, I had completely filled the tank up 40 miles prior so I asked if that charge could be removed. I was assured I would be getting an email shortly or a text. They did email me a copy of the bill, but no refund. After I noticed the charge had not been removed for two days. I called Alamo and talked to an operator and they assured me it would be removed. Four days later and the charge is still there so I called again and was once again assured the charge would be removed and two days later it was. Keep in mind that both Alamo, National and other similar car rental agencies give you the option to return the car with a full tank or they will take care of it at two different price ranges. The best option is to return the car with a full tank of gas and make sure you state that during your time at the rental counter or you'll be dealing with this same scenario. I would rent from Alamo again, but I'd get this detail correct in future.

She told me that my rent is already due and I cannot go out and bring what I am already using. I called my insurance to confirm if my rental use is already over. I still have 20 more days. State Farm agent wanted to talk to her but she refused and said she was too busy and she didn't want to talk. I told her if I can talk to the manager- she refused. Thanks to her co worker who helped me get the attention of the manager. If she has problem she should not bring it to work most especially she is dealing with customers. No matter what she should help the customer to the best of her ability. Attention Hertz management check the character/attitude of your customer service staff.
