I was told by the Airport Hertz that this was due to weather and that the Independence Hertz would have known this. So they gave me a car they knew wouldn't work. 2. The replacement rental the Airport Hertz rented me needed an oil change, which the Independence Hertz told me the Airport Hertz would've known this. 3. I had to do a new rental because the card I originally used was stolen. A. Absolutely ridiculous that there's no way to just update the card on file. B. The second rental is almost $100 more a week, and the man at the counter did not explain why. This transaction also took FORTY minutes. No compensation has been offered despite receiving TWO cars from this company that had problems. Just go to Enterprise.

When I arrived for pickup on July 3rd, the van was vandalized from the night before--windows smashed.. The worst part? The branch knew about the damage all day but never called, emailed, or texted me. I only found out after showing up at 4pm--too late to find alternatives before the holiday rush. No 15-passenger vans left. No SUVs (just one 5-passenger car). All minivans on-site were under recall. Branch was understaffed and totally unprepared. This derailed our reunion plans, created huge logistical headaches, and added a ton of unnecessary stress to a major family event I spent months organizing. I spoke with a rep who "escalated" the case, but Enterprise has gone silent: No updates. No apology. No accountability. I'm still hopeful Enterprise will do the right thing. I've given them time, sent a demand letter, and now I'm sharing my experience publicly.

I was quoted $182 for a…read morestandard rental, and before booking, I reviewed their policy, which clearly says: "The deposit amount will be stated in the reservation confirmation email." Well -- there was no deposit amount listed anywhere in my confirmation email. I assumed, based on their policy, that the $300 deposit only applied to luxury or sports vehicles. But when I arrived to pick up the car, I was told a $300 deposit was required for all vehicles, completely contradicting both their policy and the quote I was given. Their Deposit Amount policy first states it's a "potential" of incurring additional amounts. Therefore, it is not guaranteed but possible. Then their policy list the cars this "potential incurring additional amounts" is regarding to and the vehicle I reserved is not on that list which was a simple basic Compact SUV. This unexpected charge completely ruined my trip and left me scrambling. Enterprise failed to honor their own policy, and the lack of transparency is unacceptable. If the deposit had been clearly disclosed upfront -- like the policy claims -- I could have planned accordingly. I won't be booking with Enterprise again unless they fix this and start communicating properly with their customers.

I took the car down the road to Avis and they said Budget would need to receive the car and close the contract. I took it back to Budget and she threatened that because I hadn't closed the contract at Avis, I would be charged for every moment that the car sat on her lot at Budget. I tried to get the keys back from her and she wouldn't give them back, she even closed the sliding door on my face when I insisted she give me back the keys. Completely unprovoked, she escalated our exchange to an aggressive state that I haven't experienced before with a person in a customer service position. I even considered calling the police because she withheld a key for a vehicle she said was still in my possession. It resolved with her doing her job and accepting the car and closing the contract - but this was after an hour of driving back and forth between Budget and Avis on Noland Rd. It was so unnecessary. I hope no one else has to go through the same. Her employment there is a very bad look for Budget.

New cars do not have ashtrays and we don't smoke. We don't have children or pets so the charge for cleaning was ridiculous. My husband called very upset. They offered to charge us $225! That's not acceptable. We picked up the car in Grandview and dropped it off at the airport. It's probable that the person that retrieved the car, smoked in it, if it did indeed smell. We will not rent from them in the future.
