I wish I could give this location negative stars. I rent a lot of cars (both personally and for work) and this was by far THE WORST rental experience I have had. Norm, the front desk agent, was very rude and condescending from the moment we stepped foot in the office. He didn't walk us out to the car to show us what he had since he didn't have the car we reserved. There were a couple issues with the card I was using and he was threatening to not rent to us if the card wasn't produced. He also asked for a credit from the additional driver. I have never had a rental company ask for the additional drivers credit card. The whole interaction was ridiculous. My company has an account with Avis and I will make sure they personally know that we need to partner with a different rental company. Insane! read more

Don't walk, run to another rental car service. I reserved a vehicle weeks in advance and when I showed up for the SUV, I was told they didn't have it. There was not much care or concern from Norm, the rep at the desk. He said the owners name is Jazz and claimed to have called around to other locations. There's one person that works here who has the worst attitude and customer service...and this is why we are never coming back to this location again. He literally scolded every single customer I saw (including us) while we were there...once on the phone, one before us and then us. Then as I was returning the vehicle, he was scolding a customer before me and she looked quite flustered. I have already sent an email to Avis, but just be warned you don't get the wrong employee and get scolded because you a) have a free upgrade and would like to see if it was possible to upgrade b) charged the rental on your partner's credit card but your partner isn't there c) was shocked that there were no cars for rent that day d) rented the car via work but brought your work phone instead of a physical ID as proof etc etc...I heard all of these happening during my wait time inside the office. One thing to give a friendly reminder, but another thing to make a customer uncomfortable with your attitude. Another thing to note is that this location can be hard to turn into and get out if it's during rush hour/traffic hour. Go find yourself a different location. 05/2022 I rented a car from "this" Alpharetta, GA Avis...Do NOT rent from here...I needed a car in an emergency situation for 1 month and was told repeatedly by the older gentleman at the counter YES I COULD RETURN IT EARLY AND NO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE WEEK I DIDNT USE THE CAR IF RETURNED A WEEK EARLY..I RETURNED the car 1 WEEK early gassed up and in perfect shape...a different older gentleman at the counter rudely informed that Avis would NOT credit back my $500...I was aghast after clearly being told the opposite...I will never ever Ever book w/Avis ever again...and btw I strongly advise to never ever EVER book at Alpharetta Avis (and this is the town I live in) :/ read more

I scheduled a pick up for a car at 8:00am as I had to be to work by 9:30. They had no cars available though no one told me this when I scheduled to get a car the next day. A car did not arrive for me until 9:40am. This was actually not my car but a preferred customers car who never arrived . At this point the person helping me was not very helpful of friendly . Also they run your credit if you use a debit card , but they don't tell you this. This was a huge inconvenience as I don't use credit cards unless it's a dire emergency . And I usually don't have them on me , luckily I just so happen to have one on me . I turned my car in 8 minutes late because I went to get some gas down the street . I was told the tank wasn't filled though I had literally just got gas at the shell not even a mile away . The guy tried to explain it was just under the full tank and I would be charged . I've been renting from this AVIS location for over 7 years and have never had a problem with a reservation or any vehicle I've rented from them. The rental periods have been from as little as a day to over two weeks and the trips have been local, regional and across the country. Had a great experience start to finish with this location. Made the reservation a few weeks in advance. Arrived to pick it up and it was ready to go. Very friendly and efficient service. I have rented from Avis all across the US and multiple times from the Alpharetta location. The last five times I have rented from the Alpharetta location, the "Change Engine Oil" light was on. Spoke with the staff and they said it was nothing to worry about. Two weeks ago, I ended up having to swap cars due to mechanical problems. Today, was my last experience with Avis at this location. The worst customer service ever. The website does not state that If you use a debit card they must run your credit. I reserved a vehicle 2 weeks ago and when I went to pick up the vehicle this morning they said I could not rent the vehicle because when they swept my debit card it supposedly ran my credit with equifax and was denied. I called equifax and was told that my credit was never run with avis. I asked for a refund of my full deposit so I can go somewhere else and was then told it would take 5-7 business days to receive my refund. I spoke with customer service and they told me they couldn't do any thing. Due to it being spring break car rental companies are low on intermediate sized vehicles and it looks like I will not make my family reunion this year. I told him I'm literally reserving a vehicle on expedia.com for $58. If I reserve a vehicle online and pay, I won't have a rental when I arrive. He then says he's almost out of vehicles and may not have one when I arrive. So what does the reservation and payment hold? The possibility of an available vehicle. He told me to take it up with expedia. How inconvenient would it be to go through the trouble of holding a vehicle only to have to go through the trouble of a refund. His concern was nonexistent. I hate this place with passion. I made a reservation through Priceline and went to pick up the car. While processing the paperworks, a man named Amarjit S. tells me that I got some kind of discount. Thinking that he's talking about Priceline, I responded with pleasant surprise that I didn't know. After finishing the paperworks I went to the car. Just as I was leaving the parking lot, the same guy (Amartjit S.) comes by and tells me to roll down the window. He says that he will complain against me and the "coupon guy" and he walks back to his office. Not knowing what just happened I had to sit in my car wondering what the heck was that. About a minute later my senses kicked in and I realized that he treated me as I was scamming the company somehow. I parked the car and went back inside and I argued. He said he was "just asking." Whatever. I said forget the discount and quote me the regular price. He quotes me five times the quote I received from Priceline. I got pissed and cancelled the reservation and went to Hertz to rent a car. It wasn't the price that infuriated me but the way he accused me. I would have paid the regular price if he was being reasonable. But I was infuriated because he treated me as if I was guilty of committing a crime. Went to pick up a car yesterday and met the rudest and most unprofessional man called Norm. His attitude stunk and he was so unhelpful. He made us feel like we were a nuisance and a waste of his precious time. My mum wanted to hire a car for a family member of ours to drive whilst we are visiting here from the UK. Norm told us both the drivers licence and payment card had to be in the same name and that there would be a hold on the bank account for the duration of the hire. My sister didn't have her bank cards with her and when she pointed out that Norm wasn't being particularly helpful or friendly his response was, "I'm a grumpy old man, what more do you want me to say?!" Norm - despite saying we would come back today to collect the car your lack of customer service skills made us decide against EVER using or visiting your branch again and instead we went else where and hired a car for the next six weeks. Do not rent from this place if you want good customer service. Everyone that we were in contact with are terrible! Very rude! They seem as if you are bothering them by asking questions. We rented a car 2 months ago for family vacation. The staff did not ask if we had any questions concerning the vehicle when we went to pick it up, they were closing for the afternoon 10 minutes early when we were about to ask if we could pay to upgrade to a larger vehicle. The car was dirty. Soda bottles & snack wrappers were found in the vehicle. We forgot our garage opener in the vehicle when we returned 2 days earlier that scheduled. They did not have it when we called back that after noon as they had already rented the car out. We waited almost 2 months before receiving the garage door opener.
