Budget Car Rental is a scam. I rent cars in the US very often, usually with Thrifty or Alamo. I've…read morealso used Budget before and never had major issues, but this last experience was outright dishonest. I rented a car for one day and purchased full coverage for peace of mind. The prepaid total was $92 and it clearly showed that everything was included. When I picked up the car at Miami Airport, I specifically asked if anything else needed to be paid and whether everything was okay. I was assured it was all set. I was in a rush, and the agent at the counter clearly noticed that. He handed me multiple pages to sign. I did check what I could, but I didn't have time to review every single sheet in detail. When I returned the car the next day, Budget charged me an additional $101. Only after that I found out they had added extra services without my clear consent: extra gas service option, supplemental liability insurance, extended roadside assistance, etc. I contacted customer support. They offered sympathy, but refused to refund anything and told me it was "company policy." So the only thing I can do now is warn others: don't use Budget. Choose a company that is transparent and takes responsibility instead of adding paid options without proper disclosure.

I rented from the Thrifty Car Rental off of Tamiami before and I received an invoice the day of return. With this location, it took about 6 phone calls, 2 voicemails that were never returned, and a rude gentleman later to get them to say they would "take a picture of the skinny invoice" and email to me when originally they had been telling me they could not email me an invoice only corporate could. They stated they could only fax it to me when I had my rental record #. Who has a fax these days?! Nonetheless, when I call them today with my office fax line is when they tell me they can't fax it but will take the picture and email it to me....This could have been done two weeks ago.... I did end up received an emailed invoice.

Many companies have furloughed or laid off workers due to covid so be kind to your rental agent when you go in. Also it might take you a little extra time to pick up your car due to staffing. Please remember that when you step up to the counter. With that side note being said I have had a great experience with this Hertz location. We had prepaid for an suv and when we got here only a compact car was left. They told us they had an suv coming back and that they would call or to stop by and we could swap it out. Stopped by early the next day and they had the suv ready to swap out. While some people would be upset by this mix up you must understand my first statement. You get jerked around by someone in the Philippines stressful experience #1 was when you leave your car at the end if the rental and no one gives you a receipt or proof you've deopped the car off... what is something happens to the car once youve left it, they dont check it with you or confirm all is good... Ive never experienced that before After hours of trying to reach billing, the next day... they told me my rental had not been closed... why was that, they could have charged me for being late when I was on time with gas full, no one checked nothing Bottom line, pray that nothing happens to that car once you drop it off or they might put that on you as you are unable to get a receipt saying all is good and that your agreement is closed Just ridiculou, never ever again will I rent with them or any of their partners.
