After I dropped the car off on time to the airport, I signed the paperwork to state everything was fine. Afterwords, I got a bill for 545 Euro for damage that I did not do. Still trying to get my money back 3 months later, but now they don't even answer my emails and zero information on what the supposed damage is meant to be. Never use either of these companies.     I originally booked a 2-day car Europcar rental through Auto Europe to be picked up at Lyon…read morePart-Dieu train station. Shortly thereafter I called Auto Europe customer service department to change it to a 3-day rental. When we went to the train station, the Europcar agent could not find our reservation until, after searching, she found that it had been changed to Lyon airport. She then told us that she could change the pick-up point back to the train station, but as there were no more cars in the same category as our booking she would have to charge us for an upgrade. At this point we had no choice, because we had to be at our destination by a certain time, so we agreed to the extra charge, which she told us would be 90 EUR (about $103). When we got the final bill we found that the Europcar agent had added even more charges, even though we had declined any additional services such as insurance etc. She also charged us in USD without even giving us this option, which I would have declined as I always use a US credit card with no foreign transaction fees. The total extra we were charged was 140.52 EUR, which was converted to 165.25 USD.

    A FUIR A fuir si vous attendez transparence et sécurité sur vos moyens de paiement…read more Dans mon cas, un prélèvement d'environ 1000 € a été effectué via l'empreinte bancaire laissée lors de la souscription, au titre de frais de résiliation que je conteste formellement. Ce prélèvement est intervenu malgré une contestation écrite préalable de ma part, et sans validation spécifique du montant. Je n'avais pas été mise en mesure d'identifier clairement, au moment de la souscription, l'existence et le niveau de ces frais. Je tiens à préciser que l'empreinte bancaire a donc été utilisée pour effectuer ce débit, ce qui appelle, selon moi, une vigilance particulière de la part des clients. Par ailleurs, le service a été très dégradé sur la durée du contrat : plusieurs changements de véhicule imposés, avec une perte de temps professionnelle à chaque fois, un véhicule final inadapté à l'usage, et plus de 20 jours sans réponse à ma demande de restitution, avec une information tardive sur les frais. L'ensemble de ces éléments est documenté et fait actuellement l'objet de démarches formelles auprès de ma banque et du médiateur. Je recommande donc la plus grande prudence, notamment concernant l'utilisation de l'empreinte bancaire et la compréhension des conditions contractuelles.

We did no such thing and wrote them to tell them this. We also questioned how they could possibly decide THREE MONTHS AFTER we returned the car that we had supposedly put in the wrong gas. To make matters worse we had purchased the loss waiver so it is completely incomprehensible why they think we are responsible fir any supposed "damage.". They then sent us a bill for almost 700 Euros without explaining either of the above issues. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. These people behave like scam artists.
