I had a rental car arranged through my insurance company following a car accident. My husband, who is the primary account holder on our insurance, handled the initial phone conversations with Enterprise. During one call, Valerie informed him of the business hours and stated that the vehicle could be picked up "anytime that day." Later, my husband called back and spoke with a different representative to clarify whether picking up the vehicle that evening would count as a rental day. He was told it would, so he explained that we would come in the following morning instead. He was told this would not be an issue. The next morning, I arrived at Enterprise early, having arranged a ride so I could get to work. Valerie was working the front desk. When she asked for my reservation number, I attempted to pull up the confirmation number provided through my insurance app. Before I could show her, she cut me off and said, with noticeable attitude, "No, it's not in an app, it's in an email." I explained that I had not received an email. From that point on, her demeanor became increasingly rude and dismissive. She stated that my husband had a 1:00 PM reservation the previous day and that he "didn't show up." I called my husband immediately, and he confirmed that he never made a reservation or committed to a pickup time due to work. I relayed this to Valerie, but she continued to repeat herself in a snarky manner, insisting we had missed an appointment. I again explained that we did not have a reservation and was told we can come in first thing in the morning. She then stated that there was only one car available because we missed our "appointment," despite the lot being full of vehicles. At this point, I made it clear that I did not know what conversation she believed she had with my husband and that I simply needed the rental my insurance company had arranged. I did my best to remain calm and not take her treatment personally. She handed me keys and had another employee take me to the vehicle. For context, I have never rented a car before, I had just been in a car accident, and I am currently pregnant. I did not expect the rental process to be stressful, confusing, or emotionally draining. Unfortunately, the experience worsened when we returned the vehicle. My husband accompanied me this time. Upon checking out Valerie informed us that there were additional daily charges due to an "upgrade." We immediately questioned this, as we never requested an upgrade. She responded defensively and argued with us, stating that she had gone over different vehicle options with me and that I chose the upgraded one. This is simply not true. She explicitly told me there was only one vehicle available. When I calmly explained that she had not been helpful throughout the process and that her behavior had been consistently rude, she continued to argue. I informed her that I was done engaging with her and stepped away to allow my husband to complete the return. While doing so, she commented to him, "Well, I must have just given the attitude right back to her then." This remark was unnecessary, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. Valerie's conduct throughout this experience was condescending, argumentative, and unprofessional. At multiple points, she misrepresented what was communicated to us and treated us with clear disrespect. Because of this experience, I will not return to Enterprise, and I felt it was important to formally document what occurred. I hope Enterprise takes this complaint seriously and addresses the behavior described above. No customer should be treated this way.

    Never do business at this Hertz…read more -When arriving for my reservation the 1st thing that was said is "I thought we moved your reservation to another location", but it wasn't. -Next they said they don't have a car for me & that their manager called me to let them know, but they hadn't. -Got the employee's name, the manager's biz card, & told them I was stepping outside to call customer support while waiting for a car. Not a minute late, they suddenly had a car for me that they were "holding" it aside for an account. Not "reserved", "holding" basically just in case. -I reserved a Mid-Size SUV, they gave me a Compact SUV (Chevy Trax). When I asked if that was at or above the class I reserved, they said it was a free upgrade & quoted $200 more total if they charged me the correct price for the car they gave me. -My reservation was for 6-days at $186, they changed it to $212 on the contract for my "free upgrade" without saying anything. Especially ironic since they gave me a lower class car that should have led to them lowering the price of my rental. -When returning the car, a customer in front of me was picking up his reservation & a different employee told them, "I thought we moved your reservation to another location". Clearly a shared & dishonest practice among staff when not able to fulfill reservations. -It was really busy so that same employee announced "Anyone who's returning can just drop the keys w/ me & you'll get an emailed receipt", so I did that. Unfortunately they didn't close my rental out til 3 day later so I was over charged. Plus they added a late fee. -After 2 hrs of hold time & conversation with their support team, they finally agreed to refund me the overages & lower the price of the rental since I was actually downgraded from my reservation, not given a free upgrade. How can one rental experience include this much dishonesty & mistakes made by staff? Cause it's this location's brand. It's what they do, it's their operational standard & culture.

They worked hard, moved quickly, and made everything easy on me from start to finish. What really stood out was how much they cared about making sure I had a good experience. They even got me into a nicer car than I was expecting, which was a great surprise. Really appreciate the level of service here. Highly recommend this team if you're renting in the area.

Vehicle: Kia Niro EV Condition at Delivery: Defective safety system and unsanitary interior Upon taking possession of the vehicle, one day later the forward collision avoidance system repeatedly displayed warnings indicating that it was not functioning properly. This system is a primary accident prevention feature. A malfunction of this nature constitutes a significant safety concern for the driver, passengers, and the public. The vehicle is used for rideshare purposes and also transports my minor child, increasing the seriousness of this defect. Additionally, the vehicle was delivered in an unsanitary condition. The interior emitted a strong odor consistent with urine and was visibly unclean. The condition required immediate remediation. I incurred 120 dollars out of pocket for a semi detailing service in order to make the vehicle sanitary and usable. Notice and Opportunity to Cure: I contacted Avis customer service, Uber, and the Costa Mesa Avis location to report these issues and request corrective action, including a safe replacement vehicle or appropriate remedy. No meaningful resolution has been provided. This review serves as contemporaneous documentation of the vehicle's condition, the reported safety defect, the financial damages incurred, and the lack of corrective response after notice. Rental vehicles should be delivered with fully operational safety systems and in sanitary condition consistent with basic consumer protection standards.

    Let me start by saying that I will definitely use them again…read more I was turned away from a car rental place at the airport, because I don't have a credit card (I refuse!). I had never had this happen to me. I was stuck wondering, what do I do? I'm in southern California, I have big plans, and no car. I tried another area, but they were not helpful, but someone saw my distress and said, "I can help you." He made a phone call and told me to wait outside and someone would pick me up and take me to a place. I figured it would be some random place with the worst broken down cars. I was dropped off at a small office minutes from the airport. I walked in and the person there was AMAZING! He was friendly, took my information, and within minutes, I was driving out in a nice medium size car. I worried that the return process would cause a problem. I guess, I was just waiting for the other foot to drop. Could it really be this great? The answer is YES! It truly was. No complaints at all.
