No good customer service. Rented a car and they were supposed to adjust the total and said it would take a couple days. Never received anything and they did not refund anything. I. Beber levar bad reviews but this time I will, as I think it will help other people not waste their time. Made the reservation online and went to this office. They didn't have available the truck I booked in advance. They wanted me to rent a bigger truck, but they didn't want to honor the rate the website gave me. I said no, please cancel the reservation. After a week I was charged a $50 NO SHOW!!! Called requesting it to be refunded and after a long time on the phone could speak with billing and they need to speak to every person included on the reservation to refund me the 50 bucks. Their online system is crap as they Do not manage truck availability!! You have to call every store to check their availability! Excellent car rental service!!! Friendly service, they really go out of their way to get you what you need. They also go the extra mile. While I was there they were getting ready to close for the day and a customer called in to let them know that she ran into some problems and she wouldn't be able to make before they close. They stayed open for her and she was able to get her rental. I will be definitely going back to them when I need a rental and I highly recommend them. read more

My car broke down and this was the closest location to my garage. Since it was short notice, (just over an hour away), I called the store ahead directly and asked if they had cars available or if I needed to reserve one online. They assured me that they would have a car for me and told me just to come on in. When I arrived, I was told they had no car for me. They said they were even negative cars for the next day. Also, the customer representative was on the phone with his girlfriend when I arrived and had to wait for him to wrap up his conversation before being helped at all. He did not care at all and even told me I could walk down the street to hertz or enterprise. This is a terrible business with awful customer service. Do yourself a favor and just got the extra mile or two to enterprise or hertz. read more

Do not rent a truck from here. I received a quote of 55.00 from 11am-5pm. Upon checking in I was informed I had to purchase the insurance for 45.00 for the day also. So starting out was 100.00 out of the gate. I returned the truck at 4:45. I was down 2 gallons of gas which they charged me $30 for. I did not get the option to pre-purchase fuel. I was waiting for my son who followed me and got stuck at a few lights. At 4:59 the guy at the desk told me he had to shut the gate because he didn't want anymore customers coming in. I walked out to the gate and was calling my son to see where he was and he actually closed the gate on me! It actually hit me in the shoulder as I was looking down the street to see if I could spot my sons car! It was 5:02! The bill ended up being $200! Do Not Rent a Truck from here! If you rent cars at any other rental company or location YOUR INSANE! I have been renting cars from this Avis location for a few months now because I am in the process of buying a new car. This location is so awesome it is causing me to prolong my purchase delay. The manager Raul deserves Manager of the Year Award for being so awesomely perfect at his job and hiring the most amazing employees. The service is excellent because the staff is very friendly, very helpful, very accommodating, extremely knowledgeable about their products and services, and they just make you feel like a customer should...SATISFIED! I totally regret this experience!! Moving is stressful enough so when dealing with a moving truck company you expect to get excellent customer service. Honestly walking in I did receive good customer service and it was it easy transition. After renting my rental truck and moved into my apartment parked my truck around the corner from my apartment complex in the truck got stolen, thank God I had already moved all of my belongings out of the truck. I instantly called the police but I was very comfortable with the situation because I was paying $50 or $60 a day for insurance on top of the truck rental fees. After I talk to the police station I went straight to the car rental location that I rented the truck from and return them the keys and did an incident report. At this point this is when the rep told me I will be charged each day that they cannot find a truck which is totally unacceptable especially with me paying for insurance and the company having Insurance on the truck also. Then I called Corpret and spoke with someone in the right department and she told me to send her the police report and that they would not charge me each day. So after that the police station called me and told me that they found the truck from a different location other than where I had parked it in the police report was completed. That made me happy because then I knew that I would not be charge for each day that they could not find the truck because the police station told me that they called budget and let them know that the truck was located. Now I have been in customer service 11 years and I am very dis-please with the fact that I checked my account this morning and budget over charged me and charged me for days that I did not have the truck due to the fact that it was stolen!!! I would not suggest using this company if you're going to rent a moving truck it would be best for you to use U-Haul. read more

I don't normally leave such horrible reviews so when I do you know it's bad. If I could give zero stars I would. We reserved a moving truck 2 weeks in advance for our big move 7 hours away. When we went to pick up our truck at 8AM they proceeded to tell us there wasn't a truck available for us and to wait 2 hours and there would be one available then. Well after all day of phone calls with customer service we were told every 2 hours that they would have our truck ready. We asked to speak with a manager and they told us there wasn't one available. I've never heard of a company not having a manager available to talk to. But if you thought that was bad, it gets worse. We had hired movers we paid by the hour and had friends and family that took the work day off to help out. Everyone sat there wasting time and money. I spent over 1200.00 on movers that never moved one box because we never had a truck. Finally at 6pm we got a phone call saying they had a truck but it was smaller than what we requested. We were livid. We ended up having to go to uhaul ( their competitor) to rent a trailer to fit the rest of our stuff. We weren't out of our house in time for the new people to move in so guess who got to pay for that? We did. Another expense accrued, thanks Budget. Then we had to get a hotel because we didn't get to our new place in time to pick up the keys. Mind you this was a 3 day process because of Budget not havig our truck ready when they promised. On top of all that, the truck they did give us had very low air in the tires so we had to fix that (which delayed our time) and when we got on the grapevine we almost got into a major accident because the trucks front brakes were shot. Not only was Budget responsible for thousands of dollars lost, and tons of time wasted. But they put my families lives at risk because their truck safety was not up to par. Completely, disgusted with this company and would NEVER recommend them to ANYONE! EVER! read more

I don't write reviews in general and I'm not sure how much this will matter when somebody needs a truck unfortunately but I'm so pissed right now at least it's making me feel better right. Ha! Anyway, this place definitely can screw you over. I had to rent a truck to haul some stuff from my garage so I drive up knowing i won't be busy and got a $24.99/day truck there's more. I leave pretty happy after being told I got a truck at that rate and then even got my $/mile down to $0.71 because I got hooked up with a "discount." BUT WAIT THERES MORE! I return the truck the next morning only to find out that they added every type of optional insurance possible without asking me first (like most rental car places will). I went up to the front to complain as well as called the customer service number and all they say is "the employee is not enforced to inform you of extra charges and you signed the contract before you left so it is your responsibility." I get that maybe I made a mistake and assumed your employee was being honest but at least meet me halfway? Every other place I have been has asked if I want insurance and GPS and other additions but this place added them in without even informing me verbally that they did. It pisses me off how bad of a customer service a place can provide when one of their employees misguides you. Lesson learned to either sit there and read the whole agreement (like anybody reads everything before signing) or ask a billion questions. Anyway, expect to be mislead and hidden charges if you aren't paying attention at this place. dont ever go here i reserved a 16 foot truck 3 weeks in advance called multiple times to confirm they said yes we have and will have the truck on your pick up date i was scheduled to pick up the truck at 9am they call me at 10am telling me the truck needs maintenance and wont be ready till 2pm note im moving out of sate im on a timeline i go at 2pm they tell me that the other truck dont work and the other needs more maintenance than expected the female was like we should get more later today but i dont no what time and we close at 5pm i waited for 2 and a half hours and left with nothing the lack of skills customer service and consideration is what is mind boggling i will never ever!!!!! rent with avis or budget in my life yes it was cheaper but in this case u get what u pay for i ended up going with penske i paid more then i expected but man was it a wonderful experience and fast service read more

There needs to be a negative star button. I have never written a review on yelp so I hope this conveys how terrible this business/company is. I'm going to sound like a broken record because all the previous reviews had similar problems. So if you're short on time, long story short, don't go here. Anyways, I reserved a truck online. When I got there the next morning, this "manager" no older than a high school dropout said that they don't have that size truck anymore and pushed hard for me to just rent the smaller moving VAN. I told them I needed a truck and that it would take multiple trips for me to move everything with a van. After alot of back and forth he finally relented. Moving trucks charge by your mileage btw. After "we" reluctantly agree on the truck size, the worker makes the expected upsell on rental truck insurance. I say "no, thanks". Now time to give me the keys to the truck right? Wrong! He pushes for about another 5 minutes on the insurance in which I finally tell him, look I have a great driving record, I'm fairly confident in my driving. Now let's get on with it. Now then he turns on the real bad attitude, but finally says okay. But before we move on, I have to call my car insurance company and sign a disclaimer stating that Budget truck has informed me about the insurance policy and I refused it. Whatever, fine. Let's get on with it. After about an hour I finally get the keys. They hand me a brand new truck so I'm thinking to myself "perfect I don't need to take pictures because there aren't any existing damages to this vehicle." I successfully move my stuff and return the truck same day. No bumps/scratches/accidents nothing. This truck never left my sight. When I return it, another worker does the walk around check gives me the okay and we're done. Time to move on with our lives and make a mental note to never deal with these amateurs ever again. Month and a half later I receive a repair bill from Budget with a statement saying "...we look forward to your payment." What kind of ending message is that to send to your customer. I should've grasped the unprofessionalism this company right there, but I poorly word emails all the time. So all good. Then I call Budget corporate to clarify the situation. Since this is their corporate line, I'm assuming some level of professionalism on their part. Wrong again! The claims examiner is a HARRY SEAWARD. RUDE as F. I ask her questions like "why did it take a month and a half for this to come back to me?" "why did you guys do the repairs without my acknowledgement and sign off?" "whats the point of the walk around check?" No explanation, just attitude. Now I'm trying to settle this through my credit card company and hope that even big bad credit doesnt have to cover this fraudulent charge. GO WITH UHAUL. read more

Put on hold right away which I wouldn't mind but I was on hold probably between 5 & 8 minutes - a bit long - but really the worst thing was the HOLD MUSIC! Not great music but the horrible thing about it was that it's a 10-second clip repeated interminably. Enough to drive a person crazy! Or to hang up, which is what I did. Tried them again about 15 minutes later, this time the woman took my call right away & was very nice & very helpful for the information I wanted. And the best thing is she agreed with me on how awful that hold music is! And it's stuck in my head now - Aaaarrggh! I can't decide between 3 & 4 stars but will give it 3 because their prices were quite a bit higher than those of Enterprise, who I ended up going with. read more

These guys were great, it was easily the best truck rental experience I've had. We were moving from Redondo Beach, CA to Maryland. Upon finding out the distance of my trip, the very helpful staff members suggested I delay my trip by only an hour in order for a brand new (2016) truck. The original truck I was assigned was a 2008 which was ready at the designated pick up time. The new (2016) truck was being cleaned out and given an oil change, hence the reason for the delay. It was 100% worth it to wait, and it was great that they offered me the option, as I feel most places would not have. This was a great relief as the original truck (2008) was a bit dated and might have struggled to make it cross-country. They were extremely patient and helpful about figuring out insurance coverage as well as assisting us in how to attach the trailer and how to secure the car onto the trailer. It was a wonderful experience, I would recommend them to anyone needing a rental. read more

I rent from AVIS often and am a Preferred member. This is by far THE WORST customer (lack of) service that I have ever encountered at an AVIS. After handing the manager my license and card, he stated that he would have to run a credit check on me. I informed him that as a Preferred customer, that would not need to happen. He could have at least checked in the system first before making a blanket assumption. NONE of the other locations greet me this way. He silently printed my paperwork and began to talk in Spanish to a co-worker who was not servicing anyone else at the time. He placed the keys and paperwork on the counter and said "The Ford Fusion is over there." Ok.... Once we got to the car, we noticed dirt on the carpet, fingerprints and crumbs on the console and carpet, and general lack of attention to detail on the vehicle (dirty windows and tires). We walked back in to let him know, and he tells us to take it over to Alex, who would clean it. As if his lack of professionalism could not get worse, he came outside and my husband showed him the obvious dirt. My husband asked if he saw what we were taking about. He says (with an attitude), "No." Apparently he needed an immediate eye exam. The cleaner did admit that there were some spots that could have been better and apologized. My husband thanked him for that and extended his hand to shake it. The cleaner took at least 10 seconds to shake his hand! I was stunned! We asked for the card of the Manager and let him know that we would be contacting the Regional Manager, to which he replied, "I am the Manager." We will NEVER rent from this location again. read more

I booked a rental truck on 9/13 for 9/26. On 9/24 I receive a call from Bobby (Inventory Manager West Region) who tells me sorry we do not have a truck, you can wait until next Wednesday or you can find a truck somewhere else - REALLY ?????? First of all everyone who has moved knows we cannot change a moving date for 6 million different reasons + thanks but I can find phone numbers on my own. THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED !!!!!!! Funny thing on top of this, if I go to the website I can still make a reservation for the same parameters but suddenly the price is $100 higher. One of you agents even offer me to rebook at the higher rate ... Now I am 2 days away from moving, I have no solutions provided by you & I have to pay additional expenses. I am expecting a call back from someone in your services to cover the price difference for the truck !!!!! This totally unacceptable, absolutely unprofessional & I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone !!!!
