When I arrived in this foreign country, they claimed they only had an electric car which I did not want and had not reserved and they refused to give me any other car because they said they did not have a single car in their entire garage (they lied- as obviously, there were cars in their garage downstairs). They also claimed I was late- I showed them the email from SIXT saying the time was confirmed, and that I was not late. The woman said there was no manager on site. She only can reach him by phone. I cannot confirm this, but it sounds Very suspicious that the manager could not come out to speak to me. Normally, when a car rental company does not have the car you have reserved in a certain class they would find a car for you regardless of the class of car that's available. They absolutely did not care about the situation they put me in. They canceled my own reservation, returned the money and I was stuck staying at the Frankfurt airport without a car. I will never ever ever ever rent from Sixt again. Not only did they not fulfill their agreed upon contract, they lied to me about not having any other cars in the garage and they really left me in the cold. They did absolutely nothing to fulfill their end of the contract even after I had prepaid close to 400€ dollars three weeks prior. Unbelievable, how they run their business. Luckily, I went to next door to Avis who had a car available to me for a reasonable price.

This was no fault of the rental counter. They were very apologetic, gave me another car & I was on my way. All employees from the managers to the counter to the check in personnel have always been very professional & courteous to me. I've done some of my best road trips thanks to the staff here. It's a nice driving car and easily keeps up with traffic on the autobahn. The controls were not totally intuitive and the brakes began squeaking on day 2. This was pretty embarrassing at the gate of a military installation. Stopped by a Europcar car lot and garage and was told that this is normal for ceramic brake pads. It did get better. Overall a good price and experience.

However, just hours after we rented the car it died at a stop light and wouldn't start again. We called roadside assistance, but the car started again before roadside assistance arrived so we drove it to our destination. The car proceeded to not start again after we were ready to leave so we called roadside assistance again. The technician arrived, ran some tests, and told us that the car was safe to drive home, but recommended we exchange cars with Enterprise the next day. On the way home, only a few kilometers from our house, the car caught on fire. The fire fighters came and told us that it had been an electrical fire. On the police report, the policeman told me that it was not my fault. Enterprise ended up replacing our rental car that night after about eight hours total of hassle. When I returned the car after our rental period was over, Enterprise charged us an extra 250€ for calling roadside assistance! If they had given us a good car to begin with we would never have had to call roadside assistance. Every time we have rented from this location they have found something trivial to ding us for more money. And their customer service called me 10 minutes after I left to ask how their service was. I started to tell them how bad it was when the woman on the phone stopped me, "Oh, you were just here," and then she hung up on me. Totally ridiculous! Do NOT rent from this location. They also seem to also have an automatic transmission car on the lot. I can drive both Auto & Manual. It seems these people go out of their way to make sure that people who want an automatic get one!
