I was in Kansas City last week for business. I had reserved an intermediate SUV for $380. When I arrived at the rental office, a woman came out to "help" me. After completing everything, she told me the total would be $777. I said something must be wrong. I pulled up a copy of my rental. She reduced it to $580. I refused. She finally got it to my $380 and gave me the slot number where I'd find the car. Nothing there! I walked the long way back where a second woman assigned me another. This one was there but it had obvious damage, like a broken door handle and numerous scratches. It was also filthy and had trash inside. I tried to explain all that to the exit clerk but he said I'd have to return to the rental office. I had to leave and decided I'd handle it when I returned the vehicle. When I returned it, there was no one working. My worst rental experience ever and not a bargain for the time I had it. I'll never use Avis again. read more

Avis car rental. On website it states pay early and pay 194.00. I did that. Got the vehicle kept it one extra day. They charged another 149.00. Should have been 50.00 more. Tried to call there customer service and no answer. You sit on hold for hours. Poor customer service. I'm going thru my bank to get my money back.(on the second charge). read more

I love this place! The reviews listed here seem to be complaining about the weirdest things that are an Avis issue, not an issue with the location. I rented a car, they didn't have it in stock so I got an SUV for the same price. Perfect! I had my dog with me and was round tripping to Denver for work. More space was awesome. I didn't have my DL bc it's out of CO and it takes "30 business days" to arrive. I ordered 8/12 and it hadn't arrived a month later when I needed to go. They used my "old" punched ID (I've rented from here quite a bit). I just wish this location offered FULL SIZE SUVs. The Ford Edge was just a lil bit too small for a 10 day road trip to WA with a kid and two dogs, and all out our stuff. read more

Did you know that Avis will allow you to rent a car that Avis knows is not at the agency? I reserved a car while standing in line at the location only to be told a minute later that the vehicle was not available. Do you know what "or similar" means at Avis? They expect to tack on additional charges for a similar car. In my case ...$100 more. So, based on this it shouldn't be too hard to see that Avis operates a pure and simple bait-and-switch scheme. If I could give a zero I would. Absolutely terrible customer service and I have no idea how they are still in business. I just moved here and my car hasn't shipped from Ohio yet so I needed to rent a car for work. I called and said I was going to be a day late picking up the car and asked if that was okay, to which I was told that is perfectly fine because it was still within my reservation days. I went there this morning as soon as they opened and they told me that they reserved the car for someone else and there was nothing they could do. They wouldn't even give me a different car because they "didn't have any". Not to mention their cleanliness is not all that well either, as it smelled horrid as soon as we walked in. Definitely pick a different place even if that means paying a little bit more. :( read more

I had my reservation made for almost a month only to get there the day that i need it and be told that they would not be able to rent me my car that i had reserved. We had a terrible experience at this location. The owner gave away our reserved vehicle and told us we could take an uncleaned van instead. He was rude, unaccommodating, and could not have cared less about our situation. Please avoid this business as he does not deserve to have customers whom he won't respect anyway. read more

my wife reserved a car with a non refundable charge of $66 for insurance, we chose budget due to low pricing and better convenience for in city rental, nowhere on the website it mentioned a credit check with debit, upon arrival my wife was asked for her social, assuming it was a way to chase after her if something happened to the vehicle she gave her social to find out the only person working there ran her credit illegally without confirmation, not letting her know, and without signing any documentation on a credit check, she failed the credit check "had we known i would have rented it" and now all of our reservations and money we've spent is now lost due to this setback and car rentals being closed. I'm rating one star due to the attitude and failure to properly communicate a credit check with consent, so yea gonna have to call the credit bureau and report this incident now. read more

Worst place ever. I called prior to make a reservations. i get a call when i am already on my way from oro valley to there location to pick up the car. the call was to tell me that they already gave my reservation away and i no longer needed to head down. mind you i was already in a uber car headed to there location. imagine how angry i was when i realized i didnt have a car and i would not be seeing my mother while she laid ill in the hospital. i will never rent from here again. nor will i ever promote this company or there business. sucks that we live in such a small city. that everything closes early. and now i have no car nor any flight to leave. read more
