We got to use sticks instead of dowels and there was brunch served. Brunch included hard-boiled eggs, coffee, fruits and a quiche. There was trendy/cool music playing in the background and the space was nice because there were lots of arts-and-crafts tools laying all around. My only objection is how expensive the class is. This place hosts all kinds of different arts and crafts events for both adults and kids.

It did not feel safe to send my nephew here for Summer camp after a horrible spring break camp experience.

AND our camp counselors were teenagers who were scaring us by telling scary stories. There was a 3rd grader in our class who totally freaked out, when one counselor was telling us about how he almost died in a car crash. Also, the performance that we were supposed to do was supposedly in front of parents at the school. So, we got very exciting things, costumes, dry ice for a witch's cauldron, a princess tower. It was fun, but also a bit pricey, we later found out that we had to perform in front of them on ZOOM. Which, half of the parents couldn't even make it!!! Not the greatest camp, but was still good about the topic of improv. :(

We have been to the camps before, but this year it was beyond disappointing. Our daughter is enrolled in the 2-week camp: 7/26 - 8/6 and we have to tell you how disappointing this week has been. First of all, the counsellors are great and Grey really liked them - we have no complaints there. We want to bring to your attention just how the kids spent the week: Day 1: they went canoeing in a lake where the water is so filthy and toxic that the kids were told they could not get in the water at all and to make sure the water didn't go near their mouths as they would get extremely sick. Day 2: they went on a bike ride and were taken to a trail that was completely exposed and offered no shade. Ultimately, they could only ride for 30+ minutes before they had to call it quits as the kids were overheating. When the 100+ degree weather is taken into consideration, this seems like a ridiculous activity and a poor choice of bike path. Apparently they spend most of the day sitting under a tree to escape the heat. Day 3: a hike was planned but apparently one of the kids forgot their medication so once at their destination, they all sat around and waited over an hour for the child's mother to arrive with the medication. Once that was over they "hiked" for literally 20 minutes before loading up and driving back. Day 4: this was another water day an equally filthy lake. Even though the temperature was over 100 degrees, they couldn't jump in the lake. Day 5: this was the only day our daughter enjoyed because they finally went to a lake where they could jump in the water. When one takes into account the $100/day price tag we pay for your camp to show our children the kind of summertime outdoor adventures we as parents would have enjoyed taking them on ourselves, it seems as though all we paid for in the end was an elaborate daycare.

John and Kelly started the enrichment after-school program (they also have camps) because they were inspired by their own son when he was growing up. He was really into tech/innovation and less into sports, and there wasn't anything out in the market for kids like him. Everyone there is super passionate about their programs, and you can tell they really enjoy their jobs. (2) Kid-Friendly: Besides the founders and staff who are wonderful with the kids of all ages, their facility is set up with different fun innovation/work spaces for students. They also offer a wide variety of classes from coding, to battle bots, to stop motion animation, etc. Every other Friday they also offer a 3-hour drop off window where parents leave their kids there to do all sorts of fun activities while the parents get adult time. (3) Parent-Friendly: John and Kelly are great about getting feedback from parents. They are always open to questions and super patient when explaining things to the parents. They have open houses where the entire family is invited to do projects in their space. For example, last holiday they had LED Holiday Card making which was super fun. The position of the two bench presses and incline bench are pushed up against the wall on the East side of the building. Right where the steel reinforcement beams are located which leaves NO space to safely spot your partner without hitting your head or back on one of those beams. You cannot even get behind them without crawling around the weights or beams themselves. This is incredibly dangerous and a major safety issue. Whomever designed the layout of the weight room does not appear to have experience with weight training. The nautilus machines and free weight areas should probably be switched. There is nowhere to safely stretch (people do it under the stairs) or do ab exercises, box jumps, etc. Someone, with knowledge of weight training, should redesign the space for efficiency and safety.

This facility has a wall of huge windows with a beautiful view of the mountains. It's kept up & clean. There's always plenty of parking...there are even charging stations for electric vehicles. Note, membership is free for Denver residents that are 60+ & those ages 5-18. With membership you have access to all 30 Denver rec centers & pools. I regularly go to two classes - one is a Cardio & Strength class & the other is Tai Chi, both are drop-in. The instructors are fun & very knowledgeable. Christine teaches the cardio class & always demonstrates modifications, so it's perfect for all levels of fitness. Maureen is very well versed in Tai Chi as well. This is a fantastic center with fabulous instructors.
