There was a small section near the front, with some handicapped and regular spots. So we parked there, wondering if they don't get a big crowd because there were only a few spots. Apparently you park before you get to the building, the lot we parked in usually goes to the older folks. Lesson learned. We saw RFK there, a one-man show about Bobby Kennedy. I was a little dubious about it, but the actor did a fantastic job! It kept my attention and I learned quite a bit. James got a standing ovation from all of us there. I don't know how he memorized all those lines. The theater itself is really cute, the doors to the stage/seating are really memorable. They also offered coffee, wine, other drinks, and all kinds of little snacks. The glass of wine was $5. And you can bring it inside with you while you watch. The seats were not super comfortable, but they were more comfortable than most other theaters. This is key when you're sitting down for 2+ hours. They were very low to the ground though, like sitting on a kid's trainer potty. Not sure how the older folks got up and down since it meant squatting a little low. This brings me to the audience. I'm not sure if it was the play subject matter, or the theater, or just the culture of theater in general, but we were the youngest people there by far. It didn't bother me at all, but the age gap was pretty noticeable. It made me want to write a stellar review about this little theater to get more young people to come appreciate it!! I saw that Monty Python's Spamalot will be coming through this year. And guess who's going? This girl. And maybe you??

The play was called The Women of Lockerbie and I was blown away by how good it was. The writing, directing, and set all hit their marks, but the acting was simply transcendental. All the actors were very good, especially the three leads who were able to draw the audience into the story without getting to button pushy with the audience's emotions. I hate when I feel like I'm being manipulated emotionally and this performace was able to bring me along for the ride without that feeling of being used. This play is only open another week, so if you want to see it you better hussle up to Evergreen!

I feel the need to update my review because the La Petite Academy I reviewed is much different than…read morethe one it is now. In May/June of this year my husband and I began to notice staff were leaving. I've come to learn high turnover of staff is common in this I industry but the rate this facility was losing staff did cause my eyebrow to raise a little bit. Towards the end of the summer the director was either fired/quit/or forced to resign. The assistant director left about a month later. Followed by more and more staff. I expressed my concerns and was informed they were doing their best at replacing qualified staff etc. My fear was the good staff they had left would become burnt out and/or overwhelmed with having to pick up the slack. The final straw for us was when my 22 month old daughter was left outside in the bigger kids playground for 11 minutes. Set a timer on your phone for 11 minutes, a lot can happen to a toddler in 11 minutes. She could have been grievously injured playing on equipment not suitable for her age. She could have wandered out the fenced area (which is commonly unlocked because the latch is broken) and been hit by a car. The fence is NOT a privacy fence and is about waist high, someone could have easily come and snatched her. She could have been gone forever and it would have taken them 11 minutes to figure it out. This facility is easily accessible to the public it's on the corner of a busy street who knows who could be watching at any given time. I was told they don't have maintenance on-site and there's a work order in to replace the fence. Well this is December and this happened in October. I was even told they'd been cited by licensing for this yet nothing has been done. What this tells me is La Petite does NOT care about your child's safety and would rather push this under the rug than spend the money to fix this problem. While looking at other daycares in the area I come to find out this La Petite is notoriously known as the "Black Sheep" of La Petites. As I begins digging around on the Colorado Shines website I find violation after violation going back way before my daughter even attended. If this facility is owned by a franchisee I cannot for the life of me comprehend why as a business owner you'd be ok with that reputation. Same goes if this is a corporate location. I even learned that other daycares around the community knew what happened to my daughter which aren't even affiliated with La Petite. I filled out the Learning Group (parent company) survey and at the end asked if someone from corporate could reach out to me after I was dissatisfied with the response I received from the new director and her regional manager. No one contacted me. I'm sure the "business owner" will come on here and give some manufactured response about how my feedback is valuable etc etc. I would like the thank the teachers who are left who protected my daughter and took care of her while she was there. We appreciate you. Maybe this location will turn itself around, or maybe it will continue to be "troubled". If I were you I'd steer clear.

In addition, my child loves her teacher Ms. Jess. She is pretty much her shadow now! She takes great care of my infant and has great peaceful and patient energy for her. The other providers have also been great with her -- Faith and Sarah. Thanks La Petite.
