I had one dog microchipped through AVID, which I adopted from the shelter, and my second dog (adopted from the same shelter March 1, 2026) came with a microchop from 24Petwatch, a company who is closed on the weekends and never answers their phone on the weekdays. I called AVID and was told I could register both dogs under Avid and did not need to speak with 24Petwatch to do so. They sent me a link to register and all is well now. Great customer service. I would recomment AVID to everyone. read more

I am a big advocate of getting pets microchipped because collars can come off. Microchipping your pet does not hurt them. All my pets are microchipped. My nephew's dog is an escape artist, so after a close call at a shelter I took it upon myself to get him microchipped. Since then, he has been safely returned home on a few occasions. Before leaving town on a trip, I received a text from my mom that he got out again. 5 minutes later I received a call from Annette Lupardo at Avid PETtrac. She said the person who found him was speaking to someone when she called to report him being found and returned him to a girl who was the owner. I explained that it was my nephew's dog, and I would have to call to make sure. I called my mom and asked if my niece had picked up Sesos and she said, "no" and that my nephew was still out looking for him. I called Avid back so I could let them know that he was still missing. While on hold I received a text from my mom saying that my nephew and Sesos were back home, so I hung up. A few minutes later Annette called me back. She said, "I noticed you called buy hung up before being helped." I explained that there was some confusion about Sesos being back home. She mentioned that when she was talking to the individual that found Sesos the person that showed up to claim him mentioned my name, which Annette had on record as being the owner. For some reason, the person who found Sesos mistook my nephew as a girl. LOL! It's all good because Sesos is back home safe thanks to Avid and Annette who went above and beyond to make sure this story had a happy ending. Thank you Annette for your stellar customer service! read more

I received a very prompt e-mail from Avid representative RENEE DUNLAP letting me know how to complete the registration. I very much appreciated how helpful she was when reached on the phone. I had such a wonderful experience with Avid and their specialist, Joshua Dirso! After another microchip company (fromTX) went under without any notice made me think to check my cat, Miss Ray Liotta's, microchip (especially since she was rescued in TX). To my surprise - her microchip had never been register under my name (my mistake to assume at her adoption). Joshua was extremely helpful and took the time to get Ray registered and safe!!! Hi. I adopt senior pets with unknown pasts. Sometimes they have a microchip that I update/transfer to me or purchase a new chip for their new beginning. I have used 3 different companies in the last 20 years and this morning I used AVID because it was already "in" my dog. The phone employee (Renee' D) was patient, helpful, and very know-ledgeable. It was an online process that she talked me through and it was so sincere. Given a choice in the future, I believe AVID is the way to go in protecting your furry family member. Renee'Dunlap was her name. Thank you. read more

On the fourth of july the fireworks spooked my service dog and he got out and after a quick search of the area i called avid and they were able to calm me down and put a locater out for my dog. Our local animal shelter had him and because of avid they knew he was a missing service dog and not just a pitbull on the loose. Avid saved my best friends life and rhonda pierce was an angel for calming me down and getting porkchop home. If your pet doesnt have a microchip i highly recomend getting one because one day you might need the care and concern of rhonda pierce or one of her coworkers and your best friends life depends on it . I had delayed registering my cat's microchip after getting our rescue cat, thinking it was at least registered to the shelter, who would have our information if needed. It turns out Lando's microchip wouldn't have helped him at all until I registered it with Avid, so I had badly misunderstood. Understandably, prices had gone up since my cat's adoption, but I reached @avidpettrac on Instagram and Joshua Dirso gave me a coupon code that reduced the price considerably. Now I feel more secure knowing I finally got things taken care of. And I was impressed with the quick response time, which bodes well if Lando ever gets lost and his microchip gets scanned. read more

I had my dog chipped 17 years ago when I got him. We are at a new vet now and they scanned him for a chip and told me to update my information on avid. When I signed on with the chip number it said it wasn't active. I called and spoke to Renee Dunlap who was wonderful and looked up the chip number and said I evidently never registered it. I thought the vet had done it! She was great and took all my information and sent me an email showing all my information. Even though he is never out without me---I feel at ease knowing if anything ever happens--he can be found. Thank you Renee and Avid! read more
