Experience at this store has been great. We went to this location twice and had friendly help by the associates each time. I worked with the manager, Samantha, on an issue and she was extremely friendly and accommodating. It's rare to find great customer service so it was nice to work with professional individuals. Other reviewers are accurate in pointing out the pilling of some of their clothes. It's hard to avoid this because AV goes through a thorough process to make their clothes extremely soft so it renders them more prone to pilling. If you have this expectation and have a fabric shaver handy just in case, then you will enjoy their stylish and comfy clothes. read more

What a cool store "Aviator Nation" is! Walking into it is kind of taking a trip back to the late 1970's, adding some surf vibes in the mix, and creating a colorful rainbow-inspired pizzazz that screams groovy. Located in the heart of the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco, this is actually the flagship Aviator Nation store. They actually have about a dozen other locations, many of which are in Southern California but also in Austin TX, Miami FL, Las Vegas NV, & Hawaii. I came here for the first time during the afternoon of Sunday 2/14/2021 at around 4:00pm. There wasn't a single customer but the entire layout of this place is artsy, lively, and loaded with colors. Inside you will see a ton of album covers that graces one side of the wall while the other side has a giant wooden teepee with several loveseats decorated in Peruvian-inspired fabric. Looking up at the ceiling takes you on a journey to outer space complete with a lava lamp that is freely hanging. There is also several acoustic electric guitars alongside the wall, a regulation sized billiard table, a 1970's motorcycle and even a vintage Ms. Pac Man arcade machine. The clothes here are definitely unique. Growing up in the 80's, I can reminisce how some of those styles were definitely trendy at the time. From all of the wild and wacky t-shirt, hoodies, track suits, pants, and hats that this place offers, it definitely mixes in vintage and new. Much like a retro/surfer/raver vibe as well as many nostalgic psychedelic colors. Keep in mind this the clothing line here ain't cheap at all; a simple t-shirt runs around $70 while a jacket can start at $400 and go up from there. With that said and done, Aviator Nation is definitely one of the most interesting clothing stores I have ever been to. It is worth checking out if you do happen to take a trip down Haight St. simply because of how many weird and obscure things this place has to offer. And the young woman who greeted my friends and I was so awesome and she let me take several photos just for Yelp. With that said and done, I am giving "Aviator Nation" an above average four-stars. read more

Went to buy some more Bath salts I had purchased before for my mother. Had the strangest encounter. It was in the evening and they had an open mic. I ran into an old employee there who was very warm and invited me to come onstage to sing. As I approached the counter a tall young man approached me in a very uncomfortable way and proceeded to call me "trash". I said, I had just wanted to buy more Bath salts I wanted to purchase for a family member, beck in January and they were a hit. He said, "youre trash and this is a private event, " I said. No problem. He then shoved me toward the door. Super sad. Been a customer there for ten years. I will never support this kind of negativity or bullying again. So strange. I want to be respectful of yelps guidelines in stating this was truly insane. Love your guitar picks ane Bath salts but this was so wrong. Donr support this place. There isn't an aviator store close to me..closest one is 1 hour and 15 mins away. Over the past few years I've purchased only a couple items from their store being so overly priced and unfortunately, I won't be purchasing anymore. The quality of the fabric is so subpar. For a $100 thermal (see blue shirt in photos), the stitching on the label came undone after a single wash! For my $260 sweatshirt gifted to me by brother and bf, I have worn it maybe a dozen times so far without washing it yet and there are threads coming undone and pilling everywhere, especially in the underarm area. Sure, it's soft fabric but that's ALL you're paying for...not the stitching, not the quality of the fabric..buyer beware...don't waste your money here. You can get other clothing items from even ROSS, that will stand the rest of time and pilling MUCH longer than these items that didn't even last a single wash. For the record, I mentioned the label coming undone to a Haight St store rep and she said they do fixes in-store. But to be honest, I should have a prepaid shipping label emailed to me and be able to send this to you guys for repair, free of charge. Not have to drive it over..just my two cents. read more

This place looked really awesome. I guess it's pretty new on Haight. I asked the workers about the designer. They told me how it started in LA and I guess Venice and they said "yeah, Abbott Kinney." I really like this style and look, but it's just so effing expensive like $83 a t-shirt and maybe $500 for a puffy vest?? I went to the Aviator Nation in San Francisco two days ago in the morning to make a return on a jacket I received for Christmas. The young woman, dark haired, who was working the cash register was extremely unfriendly and rude. I was simply trying to make a return of a jacket I received as a gift and she ignored when I walked in the store (even though I was the only customer) and was very rude to me as I was making the return. I love the brand, Aviator Nation, however my experience with the customer service was so bad that I will not be shopping there in the future. read more

High prices but beautiful styles. As an 80s kid (with 70s stuff around when I was little) this tickled my eyeballs. Staff were bright and energetic, just like the styles! WOW, this is a really cool store! The design is modern and beautiful, the colors of the clothes jump out at you in the morning sun and it almost looks like they have music concerts here as well! There is a stage, there is a mixing board, heck they even have some rad vintage guitars on the wall above the pool table! Also they are spinning real vinyl behind the desk! This seems a little more like a party then a store? The clothes are really beautiful, the colors and material just say fancy, fun, and comfortable! Now mix those 3 things together and you also have really expensive! T-shirts for 70 bucks, sweatshirts for twice that. I thought I would pick up my wife a little gift from San Fran and I thought man she would look awesome in one of these sweatshirts and I could see her wearing it all winter long here in Iowa, but she would have been pretty mad at me if I would have spent this kinda money on a sweat shirt... AMAAAZING!! I have never worn softer, more comfortable sweatpants IN MY LIFE. I'm serious.. the quality is just FANTASTIC!!!! Honestly, Aviator Nation had some really cool designs on clothing. I'm assuming this was all hand-made and locally-made because the clothes here were expensive - which is not a bad thing! I paid a small fortune for a pair of moto sweatpants, regular sweatpants, and a zipper sweatshirt with purple hood. All three items looked and felt great the first two times that I wore them. After two-three washes, all of these items have pilled so badly that they need to be thrown away. Sweatpants that I purchased from Target for $20 two years ago are still in the rotation and have not pilled. I'd like to buy from local vendors, but I am deeply disappointed about spending over $300 for poor quality products. read more
