The nursing staff in pre-op made me feel very at ease. This might not be noticed by all but to be given quality gown that wasn't threadbare or with knotted ties and very comfortable socks was great. Each person I was going to come in contact with in the operating room came in to introduce themselves, explain what their job was and answer any questions was important. The post-op care was great, too. The fact that they phoned to see how I was doing afterwards and answer any questions showed their professionalism. I highly recommend this facility and staff.

The administrative staff is incompetent. By failing to provide the billing companies for the various entities involved my CURRENT insurance information - as opposed to what they had on file for me from years before - they have cost me time and trouble. I've just received the latest round of bills noting that I had no insurance coverage on the date of service, which is not true. Now I'm in for MORE PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS, in an attempt to straighten it out. Why bother asking for my insurance card and check-in if you're not going to actually do anything with it? AVOID this place - unless you want the kind of headaches I'm going through.

Everything went as scheduled no hassles or delays. The staff was friendly, professional and attentive. I couldn't have asked for more...until I got the bill. Somewhere along the line the referral that my insurance company requires was never filled out. I have been trying for 8 months to get it straightened out, but I cannot get resolution. I have called more than 8 times always speaking to someone different (Lindsey and Patricia are the 2 most recent ones, since I started taking notes of my interactions) who says that they will talk to the referral coordinator and she will call me and get it straightened out. That is where it always ends, I never hear back from anyone. The only one who seems to follow up on anything is the billing dept. I never fail to get my statement telling me that they are sending me to collection if I don't pay them $2540. As a patient, I am helpless to get anything taken care of. I had no reason to believe that the referral was not in place, I am not the referral coordinator. I cannot write the referral, I am not the doctor. I cannot pay the bill, I am not the insurance company. I pay over $500 a month for insurance and I will NOT be forced to cover a bill because someone failed to have a form filled out that was totally out of my control. Someone else's incompetency should not cause me financial hardship.

I had been trying to ignore it but often times the leg would ache if I sat for extended periods of time. A long, unpleasant, dull pain. So other than feeling self-conscious during the summer and not feeling very good about how my legs looked the pain was a growing issue for me. We discussed the EVLA option and I felt comfortable with Doctor's care. This varicose vein procedure didn't require any kind of surgery (maybe it's newer). The whole visit took about an hour but the treatment was rather quick (about 20 or so minutes). The initial couple weeks after were relatively regular weeks, as they are described in all the EVLA/ EVLT brochures: Bruising, some discomfort (but tolerable), etc. Eventually all the pain went by the wayside and all the bruising is gone.. the stockings too. Bulge removed. Things are good.

He was on the phone and yelled at me to go back to my room, like I was 12 years old and humiliated me in front of other staff members. By the way, I'm at least 15 - 20 years older than he is. That outburst from Dr. Shapiro showed a total lack of respect for me. Dr Shapiro has become increasingly short-tempered and impatient in recent years. Additionally, one of the gals in the office got me in to see Dr. Shapiro on emergency because I was having some pain, when he found out about it, he blew his stack. He was very angry. I don't know if that gal lost her job. I hope not. I have lost confidence and respect for Dr. Paul Shapiro and will never go back to him again. This should have been posted a couple of years ago. I wrote the review but didn't post it.

This place is very organized and thorough. They mailed me a packet, detailing how to prepare for the procedure. They also texted me a few days before, reminding me what to do, and what time my appointment was. I appreciated all the tips for preparation and the do's and dont's. From start to finish, everything is well organized, efficient, and timely. Check in is easy and they even offered to give me information about a living will and medical directives, since I didn't have things like that in place. I've been meaning to do it and wasn't sure where to start and the packet of information was really helpful. They are very thorough explaining the procedure, anesthesia, risks, and all the paperwork you are signing. Cell phones are discouraged so I didn't take any photos, and I appreciated that devices were not allowed in the waiting room and entire facility. Masks are optional. Due to the anesthesia, you need someone to drive you and your driver must be on the premises at all times. Dr. Jacob is so nice! She saw me before the procedure and explained a lot and put me at ease. She spoke with me afterwards too, to go over results and follow up information. This was my first time with anesthesia and my anesthesiologist, Natalie, was very friendly and told me what to expect. She really put me at ease as well. I was put in a hospital bed and wheeled around to where I needed to go. Suzanne was fabulous, got me settled in, and went over my medical history and some forms. My clothes were kept in a bag, and they even had a special place to keep my glasses safe during the procedure. They hung up my mask too, to keep it clean. Marissa and Lisa were the two nurses in the room during my procedure and they introduced themselves right away and were wonderful. The procedure was easy. I don't remember anything. When I woke up, Shellie was waiting for me with water to drink and checking in to see how I was feeling. My mom was in the recovery room with me and that was very nice. (I was asked ahead of time if I wanted my family member with me in recovery and I said yes). It was nice to have my mom in there to listen to things too because I was still a bit out of it.
