I am six weeks post op after having a slipped disk, cyst, and bone spurs resting on nerves. I also…read morehad a cage put in. The morning after the surgery, I noticed that all of the symptoms I had on my left side of my body were gone. Dr. Sidhu performed the surgery at HF Macomb on 19 mile. The staff that was there was wonderful. Had an attendant named Dre take care of me while I was there (the ice had to be constantly changed in the back cooler). Anyone afraid of having the surgery, know that Dr. Sidhu and staff did an amazing job. I can walk 5 miles without any issues. I am noticing that with my back fixed, my gate has changed. My biggest suggestion pre-op. Focus on developing your core muscles, go for walks (if you can) and do multiple sets of squats a day. Your core and leg strength is huge in recovery.

Dr. Perry performed an anterior hip replacement on me. While I never got a straight answer from Dr…read more Perry about the cause, I assume that during the procedure, my acetabulum (a bone in the pelvis) was fractured. Neither Dr. Perry or I knew about the fracture immediately after the surgery. The fracture was only discovered later, after I'd endured significant pain. After the surgery, I called Dr. Perry's office and could not reach anyone who could help me. For two weeks I couldn't get through to him. My post-op appointment was with a nurse practioner and when I complained about my progress, she told me I was within the range of normal. I then called the office to complain in the weeks after. I was told my only option to see him that week was to drive 40 minutes to Dr. Perry's second office. I asked to get a message to him and was told the best way to get a message to him was to see a tech in the local office. I was not able to drive to the second office given how difficult sitting was for me and the pain I was in. I asked what the tech's credentials were and never really got an adequate explanation. Since I was told seeing the tech was likely the best way to get a message to Dr. Perry, I saw the tech. The tech recommended I commence physical therapy. It took an ER visit, and my son, who is a physician, calling the office and insisting that Dr. Perry call me personally, and a physical therapist stopping therapy saying something was wrong, before anything moved. When Dr. Perry finally called, he criticized me for not calling his scheduler to reach him regarding my post-op complaints, said he had told me at my first visit (at least year earlier) that this was the post-op protocol, and then ordered a CT scan. I explained that I had called his office several times and was never told about that process. His response was that his office is very busy. I saw him for the first time, post-op, after the fracture was revealed by the CT scan. I found him defensive, in that when I asked for an explanation as to how this happened, his response was that he informed me of the risks of surgery beforehand. Based on my subsequent research, this complication is very rare. I am fairly sure he never discussed such a remote risk with me. I knew going in that Dr. Perry had a reputation for a poor bedside manner. I am married to a now-retired physician and thus have met many surgeons. It was my impression that poor bedside manner can be more common among surgeons. For that reason, I decided not to rule him out if otherwise had a good reputation. What I learned is that when something goes wrong, patients need a doctor who listens and takes responsibility, and that was not my experience. If you're considering him, take into account how ego can impede patient care. Complications occur. Having experienced a rare one, given my experience with Dr. Perry and his office, I would make a very different choice on surgeons if I could redo my decision.

After a 1.5hr wait (because he chooses to schedule many many patients all at the same exact time, medical staff have told me that some doctors do this because they want to make more money. It is not something they have to do, and since his daughter is an ice skater in the Olympics, which costs ALOT of money. I'm assuming he puts 10 patients at one time so he can fund her little side gig. Even though there are tons of patients who are being treated poorly, yet still being charged for these visits. Ice skating is not more important than people's lives and their health. I've never met such a poorly run office in my life. You can tell that everyone is miserable here and they take it all out on the patients who paying the money to keep the office running. The front desk was horrible, they won't help you in any way shape or form, so if you have any questions for the doctor, which you will likely have because he will only spend 2 to 3 minutes with you after waiting 1.5hrs and not explain anything he wants you to do. Then when you need your x-rays. sent to another doctor, they have no ability to do that without having to burn the a desk because their office is so technologically far behind. So you have to pay $10 for a for them to burn the images on it, which is , but Samantha, the woman who is going to help you with that treat you absolutely horribly first. She's interrupt almost every single sentence you begin with and when you ask her to please stop she's gonna become enraged and she's gonna continue to do it over and over and over again. And a 10 minute phone call is going to occur when all she needed to tell you was three sentences which would've taken about 30 seconds. All because she is so angry and so miserable and she's trying to put it patient on the phone. This entire office is just horrific. And I have heard people in other groups online who have had very bad surgeries from Dr. Zingas and had to go to other surgeons to fix his mistakes.

7/31/2025 Review…read more#523 My review is for Associated Orthopedists of Detroit at their 2nd office in St. Clair Shores. This is my backup location when Dr. Bookout knee specialist is here on certain days other than the Shelby Township one. I turned and twisted my right knee this time (April it was the left) and within 24 hours it was swollen with fluid. The receptionist here was kind enough to fit Me in on Thursday the 17th for My urgent visit. The check-in office staff is quick and efficient with ID and Medical cards of information. I also was glad to complete the text message online sign in and check in the morning of My appointment. Holly is always the nurse that will prepare and assist Dr. Bookout for the arthrocentesis painful procedure. Yes for Me and My nerves its uncomfortable even with a shot to numb. This visit this time was 4 months ago as with the left knee. He drained 100ml of synovial fluid which I was glad there was no infection. 3rd shot was of course cortisone to help the right side of my knee to recover in 4 days so I could return to Physical Therapy for hip and back injury. In conclusion, this office is clean, well organized with appointments, Ex-Ray machine down the hall for knees, hands, back, shoulders and other bone related injury or fractures. Most insurances are covered and check out is easy with Rita at the window who is efficient and pleasant to answer billing questions too. Hours are listed in the photo I attached. This office is located on Little Mack Ave. at 10 Mile Rd. There are several other Orthopedic Doctors that practice here in a highly professional and understanding medical practice way. Thanks again to all who assisted Me and My Knees with Care ! SpecialK - Karen :-)

Appointment day I waited two hours to see the doctor in the most uncomfortable chair..my back was already in pain and I was getting irritated. He left the room and told me to wait for referral for physical therapy 15 minutes passed and I just walked out the door.

I love this guy, he's compassionate and caring. He talks to me like a regular person and has never made me feel like he was in a hurry. After surgery I had some issues, partly due to my having fibro and he was so patient with me. The office staff is very friendly. The only thing I could complain about is Dr Houseman's PA at Ascension Macomb. He's quite abrupt and cold. He would walk-in all high and mighty, no smile, just stand there and say "Ready to go home". Never bothering to ask how I was feeling, if everything was ok, just informing me that if I didn't go home after 3 days I'd have to go into a nursing home! (My dad had just died the week before in a nursing home) It would of been nice to know these things BEFORE surgery.
