I went there today to open an account. I waited quite a while just to get someone to help me. I have a CA ID card still (not AZ), so I brought my lease agreement and recent APS letter to prove my address in Yuma.. They refused to accept either one, as if I was dishonest. They demanded a recent payment receipt from each, which I didn't have. I showed my SS card and VA card, but that wasn't enough for them. They wanted a $25 "membership fee" just to open an account. I was going to open it with $2000. Long story short, they gave me such a runaround, so I finally got up and left. And of course, I would never go back there. I immediately went to Navy Federal Credit Union, and it went very well. It was a totally different experience. I would give this credit union a ZERO rating if I could. read more

After 47 with this credit union I closed my emergency savings account and moved to Navy Federal Credit Union. Avenir was charging me a dormant fee every month for lack of account activity. It is an emergency fund and not used until needed. When I did need it I had to reactivate account. They now charge for every service. No longer the customer friendly federal credit union I joined in 1977. read more

I made a pmt on a credit card ai have throuaea/avinear....ive made all my pmts to them on time 20 years..... I made payment for oct. Msde pmt for november as soon as statement was out...avinear lumped nov with oct....still say i owe for nov...actually it makes me look like im a month behind if i pay at end of month ....called them..ig oh your right...i said well can you put the current info in the next due date will be dec. Answer oh we cant change the computer you might want to call card company ..so i did...same answer we dont control computer. You need to call aea/avinear. They admit im right but no one knows how to fix it SO T GUESS AVINEAR IS RAN BY A COMPUTER THAT NO ONE CAN CONTROL......iv been a nurse here for 30 years never had so much BS run around in my life...if i did buisness like that my patients would have died! I banked with AEA for over 30 years, through the good and the bad, but now that it's Avenir, I'm ready to jump ship. I just stood in line for 25 minutes to make a cash deposit. There were only 2 people ahead of me and 10 more came in before I reached a teller. Wonder how long their wait was! Only 2 teller windows were open, and this was at lunch hour. I didn't see any of the old faces, and the new ones were not friendly. With all the fees they charge on checking, it's time for me to move on. read more

Was denied a loan because of their personal beliefs. They try to say they offer loans for a specific purpose, but when you apply for the loan to purchase that specific vehicle for the use, they say they don't do it for that. read more

Their new tool management applied to the customers are just making them go away. They don't deserve the "Credit Union" bank title no more. This is the worst Bank I have ever worked with both of my parents passed within 24 hours of each other, there was a balanced Owen of 12600.00 . I could have paid it off I told them that , so they chose to take over the accounts even though I am executor they put me off to have conversations with me for a month . And they took over their mobile home told me they will they would put locks on the door And gave me 3 days to leave I flew in from Washington State to handle all all the estate issues and they would not recognize me As being the executor even though they had the will stating that I was , and the death certificates , they confirmed that I was the executor and the rightful heir .They were rude unavailable and very unprofessional. They said they would put the home up for sale charge me for real estate agent and anything that had to be done for the property And get back to me They still have not done that no contact won't answer the phone . When I got back to Washington state it turned out the credit score that was run on me to keep the home and stay in my parents home was higher than reported to me when they ran it in Yuma . I couldn't even report this to the AEA bank because they won't answer their phone or keep in contact with me. I could have paid it off and I had told them that . Bottom line is I got my parents home taken away from me that was left to me , due to their incompetence. read more

I have a problem with AEA and treatment of seniors in the Yuma community. I accompanied my 82 year old mother to 1st Street today following a series of major heart attacks to close her account as she relocates to my home in California. A customer of theirs for over 15 years with a hefty account, she now struggles without her oxygen and the process was long and tiring. We neglected to take in her jar of coins for the coin counter so I returned as soon as I got her to the car. Ran the coins, went to window for cash and denied customer fee as she was no longer customer. Say what? Sure the Manager Andrew would assist, what was I thinking. Take it or leave it. Fine just give me the coins back, NO!! He wasn't going to do that either. Really, you just have to be kidding. Don't they offer no stars? read more

Three times I've gone to the location near 24th and Avenue B to try to open an account. Three times they've been unable to help. "Could you come back around 10:00 am tomorrow morning?" No, I cannot come back in the morning, because I have a job. WOW! I opened up an account at this bank over 20 years ago. At one time I had loans (plural), checking accounts (plural), and a savings account with them. When I moved away I finished paying my loans, closed the checking account but kept the savings account. Periodically over the years I would deposit money in the account. It has been several years since I have done anything with the savings account. I just logged in to my account to find out I am missing a lot of money!!! When I looked at the activity on the account there is a $5.00 fee per month for as far back as their system will let me see. I called the bank and they told me there was an inactivity fee because I didn't make a deposit in over 6 months. I had a little less than $1000.00 in the account and now there is $143.00! WTF!?! I am beyond frustrated. I feel like I just got robbed, oh wait... I just did. Just getting ready to leave to go close this account and take the $15.00 that a manager said they would reverse for me. Normally if I am angry with a business I usually wait to write a review but you took over $800.00 from me in fees and only want to give back $15.00... WOW!! read more

Let me start by saying the loan department is fairly fast and efficient. I have never had any issues with them. Now for the problem, which is a huge problem! Teller customer service and speed. In about 40 years of banking I have never experienced the slowness that I have experienced at AEA. It is consistent with all the branches. It would be a simple fix but apparently the managers are oblivious or just don't care! If you have 30 minutes to an hour to sit at a drive up for 2 customers in the drive thru or don't mind standing in line for long durations than bank here. read more

Very poor customer services. We had our account here for 10 weeks, never could get our debit card activated!! Decided to close the account. Cost us 25 dollars to do that! I deposited cash on a Saturday. I went to transfer it to another account and was told by the teller that it wasn't available until 2 business days. It's CASH!! Why would it not be available??? Anyway, 2 days goes by and it is STILL not available until midnight of the 2nd night. I told them Navy Federal Credit Union has the same type of ATM I used at AEA and MY CASH is ALWAYS readily available. There is no reason for AEA to be holding my cash and "releasing" it 3 days later.....Needless to say, I'm checking out of AEA - I don't need this..... read more

I'm very disappointed with AEA FCU. When I moved to Yuma, I opened an account with AEA because they were supposedly part of the Credit Union CO-OP system of 30,000 surcharge-free ATMS and 5,000+ shared branches, since I needed to maintain access my account with Schools Credit Union (in my home town, no branches here). But today when I tried to make a cash deposit into my Schools account at the AEA main branch, the teller told me she couldn't do it because AEA is no longer in the CO-OP system; however I could still do the transaction through their ATM. WRONG! AEA's ATM spat my money back, saying I was "not authorized" to make the deposit. So I drove a few blocks over, to the Navy Federal Credit Union (in which, unlike AEA, I DON'T have an account) whose ATM cheerfully deposited the cash into my Schools CU account, no questions asked. What's up with that?!? Not only that, but AEA recently informed me they're going to start charging a $7/month fee for my checking account, which they had promoted as "free checking". Time for me to find a new bank, don't you think? read more

Fast professional and courteous service. I applied for a auto loan through AEA late in the evening and got an approval the following morning. When I went in to sign all the documents the wait time was minimal and it was a very easy process. I had opened a new account, reviewed and signed all of my loan documents and walked out the door with the check within 30 minutes. I could not have asked for a better experience. I will continue to recommend AEA to all of my co-workers for all of their banking needs. read more

I would not recommend banking AeA Federal Credit Union they are a no good Bank I get my truck impounded they take it without telling me and now my truck is gone yes I was late on a few payments but I spoke with Mario and collections he told me everything is good as long as I pay by Friday when I go to get my truck out of impond and make my payment they tell me that the lien holder has my truck and to call AeA and they tell me that the boss is gone until July 4th and there's nothing they can do they told me that the police said that I didn't try to get my truck and they said the impound said the same thing I tried to get my truck released the next day they told me was a 30-day mandatory impound I got stuff out of my truck 3 different times at the impound yard AeA is a lieing Bank do not do business with them they do nothing but lie and steal and cheat you out of money they are piece of shit Bank go online and look at the reviews people write and how they bank is failing more and more every year just please whatever you do do not do any type of business with them they will take your money they will screw you out of everything they can read more
