DON'T EVER PUT YOUR MONEY WITH CHASE BANK! I couldn't possibly have had a worse experience. When my mother was dying, she wanted to make sure I could take care of my sister's bills after her death until life insurance money came in for her. She wrote a check for $8000 to me to do that. Because she was dying and lying flat on her back when she signed the check, Chase flagged the check and stopped payment on it. I worked for two weeks to resolve it, and they told me about four times that it was resolved, but then they still wouldn't give me the money. I eventually gave up and went into debt to take care of my sister's bills until life insurance money came in. I figured that we could just get the money eventually when we had the death certificate by having my sister go to Chase and get the money out of the account as next of kin. She went to do it and they would only give her the amount left over in the account (and not the $8000 that they wouldn't give to me). So now, Chase is refusing to give the $8000 to me and refused to give it to my sister. By the way, we don't care who they give it to, as long as they give it to one of us. They now tell me that to get the $8000, I have to get letters of testamentary and go through probate, which is ridiculous for $8000, and for an $8000 that should either have been in my mother's account for my sister to get as next of kin or in my account because my mom wrote the check to me. I have tried and tried to resolve this. The lower level people don't help at all and don't understand what I am talking about. The higher level people I ask for are unavailable, don't call me back, or when I get ahold of anyone they claim there is nothing they can do. THIS BANK BASICALLY STEALS YOUR MONEY AND THEN CLAIMS THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO GET IT BACK FOR YOU, EXCEPT MAKE YOU SPEND ALOT OF MONEY TO GO TO COURT! read more
