I came to get my make-up done for a night out. I was able to make an appointment over the phone. I had asked if bringing a foundation for the best was recommended and they said yes so I brought Tarte brand. For $15 for application is a very good price and the student that worked on my make up was relatively friendly. She had a lot of patience when trying to find the lipstick I felt confident with. I showed her a picture of what I envisioned and I was going for natural, light colors with some highlight on the cheeks, just an overall soft glam look. I almost never wear eye shadow even on special occasions but this look called for a white/silver shimmer; she did not build my confidence in wearing eyeshadow. The color of my foundation matched my tone but was not executed well. It overall looked more caked on rather than resting dainty on my face. My lipstick was probably my favorite part. I would return for a make up application again but set my expectations lower. read more

If only there were other Aveda locations in San Antonio and I wouldn't have to travel all the way to Austin to get EXCEPTIONAL service. Often, I've walked in and the employees are reluctant to jump up with a smile to help me out with new products or cater to my Aveda Pure Privilege perks that I get once a month. On this occasion, I came in at 8pm to get my free birthday gift that comes with a full sensory experience and a nice lady that I thought was going to help me passed me off to a girl that couldn't crack a smile! During the sensory experience you are given at least eight scents to choose from and on this occasion I was presented with only 3 and I inquired about this which seemed to annoy the associate helping me. I felt I was rushed to select one of the three scents and there was no one else in the store! I come into this location quite often and it's out of the way and most times the service is terrible and the only time I have a genuinely pleasant experience is when I get help from Jessica. I'm always disappointed when I don't see her upon walking in because the other women look like they don't want to be there nor help answer my questions. I've just started investing in my hair products and have was excited to learn that there was an experience Aveda salon in San Antonio. I booked a hair one and loved it. I was running late, so I called to let them know, and the staff was very friendly and told me to come in anyway. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by VeeJay, a very friendly associate. He offered me water and then led me to the chair. He started in on the assessment, touching my hair, showing me how to see whether it was moisturized and discussing my current hair routine. He made a few suggestions and then offered to apply a couple of the products to my hair to test them out. He assured me that he would make sure I looked good when I left the store, and he was right! He added some volume, made some product recommendations and provided an excellent customer service experience. read more

I love the foot and hand relief moisturizers and I was also happy to know that they offer a really great straightening lotion for my babygirl's curly hair. The products are amazing. However, the service at this store is lackluster, at best. I waited for over 10 minutes to get recognized, and when my turn came, the salswoman passed me by to ask another lady if she needed help. If you don't want my money, I can sure think of other places to spend it. Won't be coming back to this store, but also won't let this experience keep me away from the products. Today was so disappointing. As a loyal customer for many years (back to the Ingram days) customer service and product knowledge is non existent. I am used to being offered tea, massage with a product or a skin assessment. None of these were offered. Maybe that has changed. Today was disappointing and there was no excuse whatsoever. When I arrived there was a couple at the register checking out and a girl getting a "free hairstyle", 2 employees present. 1.) We were not greeted. 2.) I tried on three different tint moisturizers with no help. 3.) After opening all drawers with no success I had to seek help from an associate in the back, that is when the other employee said " oh I can get that for you". (Initials ER) 4.) my friend was in the market for an eye cream, I showed her the green science. The only sales pitch the associate had was "oh that is amazing". Where is the product knowledge ? Why is it amazing? What sets Aveda apart? 5.) Then I mentioned I am a reward holder, stated it was my bday and had not received my gift. The associate stated "oh you get to choose and bday oil ".There was no options she chose an oil thanked me for my business and returned to styling hair. I realize maybe the beautifying oil is the only oil in stock, communicate that with me. I realize that free hairstyling may be a new thing but your associates need to learn how to multi-task. Free hairstyling is not FREE, I'm trying to buy. Furthermore, I spend money on my skincare I specifically took my friend into Aveda to experience the difference. Lastly, I distinctly remember the previous associates warning customers with high blood pressure NOT to drink the tea.
