I know my daughter loves Ulta Beauty. So, for one of her birthday gifts, I decided to get her a gift card. I purchased the gift card online for convenience. I get an email stating the purchase was processed, and then, seconds later, it's canceled, with a message: "your order did not meet one or more of our security checks and was therefore cancelled." I don't understand how it was canceled, and they took the funds out of my account. I went to the live chat for assistance. They are unable to help because they cannot see the exact reason, nor can they refer me to someone who can, because they are not Ulta Beauty. They want to know why I am purchasing the gift card and then stated that it's under review and that I should receive a resolution within 3 hours. None of this makes sense to me because the funds for the gift card were most definitely withdrawn from my account, and the person in chat said it would take 1 to 2 days to be posted back, but it took them 2.5 seconds to take it from my account. I can guarantee that I will never try to purchase anything from Ulta Beauty again. They are too big a company to make mistakes like this and take my money that I work hard for. I am very upset by this experience. So much for experiencing convenience with Ulta Beauty. I understand that they may use a third-party company to manage their gift cards, but Ulta Beauty is still responsible for any resulting negligence or issues. read more

Oh, how I wish you sold hats. I wanted a simple, blonde highlight retouch- now the top of my head looks like a ginger skunk. I asked to stop the haircut halfway through and now I have a 4hr appointment at another salon for tomorrow. This is after being in a chair for 3.5 hours, listening to 'behind the bowl' drama about another stylist not giving his assistant credit on Facebook for her blowouts and guff from upper management about not being a more lucrative salon. Unless I'm in the market for a new hot tool, I don't see a need to return to the store and definitely not the salon. read more

I came in to buy a flat iron that's been trending on tiktok and the store said they had one more left. (lucky me i thought) so she went to the back to look for it and then said "that must be wrong, cause it's an expensive flat iron and shouldn't be ringing up lower than $150. Today, however, I had to seek help and happened upon a lady that seemed very irritated that I interrupted her conversation with other employees. I have thin fine hair and he knew just how to work with it and give me the look I was going for while maintaining the integrity of my hair. I love Ulta, and have been a loyal customer for well over 10 years. I love all their selection of beauty products and accumulating points for my larger purchases. My only issue is the massive number of customers people that are in the store most of the time. I feel sorry for the cash register employees that have to deal with so much pressure and stress making customer transactions. I suggest to management that you make different registers for buying, merch returns, and salon checkout, this would alleviate the customer lines, and make the customer feel more appreciated.... read more

2.5 star. This place can be rated a 3 star at best. Yea I know I kinda come here pretty often. But there are those places that you don't like much but keep coming back. This Ulta store is one of them. First of all, I'm a Sephora girl. I don't go to Sephora store much tho. Why? Because I order everything from their website. I don't buy my brand name makeups and the like at Ulta. I only come here to get shampoo, conditioner, makeup remover, hand lotion, etc. because of the coupon I receive in the mail from them. Guess that's why I keep coming back. However they do have good gift sets such as perfumes during the holidays and you can use their coupon for those too. They also have a brow bar which is a plus. Service here isn't that great. Associates never offer any help proactively. You have to go find someone if you have questions. And sometimes you can't find anyone to help you so you are pretty much on your own. I also hate the fact that they can't apply the coupon if you come in a day early. I mean it's not like the coupon has expired. What's the difference if I buy it today or tomorrow? As a subpar beauty store, Ulta can only get a subpar rating. But they will still lure you in though...with coupons of course. read more

I was in desperate need of a trim, and I finally scheduled an appointment. I appreciated the fact that I was able to get in on the same day. I was open for whoever was available and got a senior stylist. I arrived right on time, and was quickly greeted and taken to the back. The stylist seemed like he was in a hurry and did a quick consult and then started with a shampoo and began the cut right away. I told him I wanted to freshen up my layers, and trim about 2 inches. During the drying and styling is when I really felt like he was in a hurry, my hair cut caught in the flat iron and he pulled it through anyway. He apologized, but I still felt like he wasn't paying attention to the appointment. Overall, I appreciate the convenience, and the fact that I can do some other shopping. Order online! You get those gift with purchases! I have been shopping at ULTA for years and most of the time the sales associates are great. Even at this location the sales staff are wonderful. I was even told about a gift with purchase from a sales associate and I guess she made a mistake of saying it was $60 when it was $65. In my opinion it should have been no big deal. The manager was so dismissive and I had barely gotten a word out. No one ever even made eye contact with me when I was trying to understand the miscommunication. If I had a loyal customer spending $300+ I would have just given it to them. People, just fyi, almost 100% of the time you order on their app you get a free gift. On top of that if you order from the product site directly you save even more. I know ULTA will survive without me but I won't be going back and supporting her daily sales goals in the future. Stay away from this Ulta store. Dissatisfied on all levels, lack of customer service in the store. Bad, dismissive attitude and shabby results at hair salon. I was anticipating the price range for the hair salon, based upon the price list. I saw Daniel and even went in the top range but the bill far exceeded the quotes! I ended up paying over $400! Due to the lighting in the salon, my hair looked ok but nothing special. I brought 8 photos to show the highlights and cut, but Daniel just sniffed and ignored them. When I went out into the light and at home, my hair looked dull and was unmanageable. I was not happy and called Daniel about seeing it. He had an attitude and then said thar]t he could fit me in and would only charge me for a partial highlight and cut. He was going to charge me again to fix his work, or lack of it. I love Ulta. Wish they had more locations! The Ulta brand makeup is good. I've even wearing it for almost ten years. I stick to the eye shadow, loose powder, bronzer, lip gloss, lip stick and nail polish. I love their eye shadow base! I don't recommend their mascara...it's not great. I got some lovely blinged out hair pins for a wedding in their accessory aisle. They've got a nice selection. Their circular always has a coupon. The circular is great for gift ideas for any woman in your life - friend, loved one, sister, etc. They also have a nice collection of perfumes/colognes with testers for all of them! They usually have a free gift with purchase for their fragrances as well. I've scored a free beach bag, wine glasses with an ice bucket, a purse and a robe! I can't say much for the salon at this location, but I've had my hair cut at several if their salons (Phoenix, Mesa, Gilbert, Houston) and its rather expensive ($70!) for a mediocre cut. I'm never quite happy when I leave. Once, it was a total disaster and the manager of the salon had to rescue me from the girl who had morning sickness and crooked scissors! Let's just say I'd prefer to have my hair cut elsewhere from now on. They do have a neat nail polishing service offer right now. It's $25 and you get a free bottle of nail polish with the service. Nice! Opi is great. Ulta's selection of hair products is pretty much unbeatable. I usually wait until have BOGO sales to get what I want. I enjoy using their scented soaps and anti bacterial hand gels. They have delicious smelling hand creme and body butters. Don't buy the Zoe hair straightener. It's a piece of junk. The chi is probably worth it, it doe a nice job, although I still prefer the forty dollar one I have had for the last seven years. Anything cheaper than that would be a waste of money. I was not relaxed at all because she talked the ENTIRE time about her living arrangements and her ex and why they broke up. She even cussed. Very unprofessional.
