Save yourself the headache and don't hire this company for your painting project! The painters did a fine job, but the owner (Jason) was the WORST person to work with.
We were looking for a company to paint our exterior trim. When he initially came out to look at our house and put a quote together we told him we wanted the same paint colors that were currently on the house. There were three colors between the soffits, trim, and accent trim. He said that's fine, we just needed to go pick out the colors at the paint store and let him know which ones we want. We received a quote shortly after, it was right in the middle of two other quotes we had received. So, we chose them. Huge mistake! A few weeks before our house was supposed to be painted we emailed him the paint colors. We never heard back from him, but didn't think anything of it. The morning they were going to start painting I noticed they hadn't taped anything off. When I asked the painters if they were going to tape anything off, since there's accent colors right next to the white trim, they looked confused. They said Jason was at the paint store right now picking up the paint and the only color they knew about was white. One of the painters called Jason to let him know. I received a call from him shortly after, angry that we never told him there was more than one color. When I told him we emailed him a few weeks ago (and it was talked about when he initially came out, we NEVER said we wanted everything to be white) he said he never got the email. He then tried to convince me to just go with white, even though that's not what we wanted and would change the look of our house. Seriously? He was also mad because his quote didn't include three colors. Wouldn't you check with your client to verify paint colors, even if it's just one color, before going to order a ton of paint for a job?
One of the painters got paint splatters on our vinyl siding. He used something to get it off, but it left giant spots on the side of our garage. There were also smeared paint splatters that weren't completely wiped clean. We initially thought the siding was ruined. I called a general contractor who we've used for other projects in the past. He said the siding might need to be replaced depending on what they had used to remove the paint, but he'd have to look at it to know for sure. I called Jason to let him know of the situation. He went nuts. He said (yelled) there's no way he's paying to re-side the side of our garage. When I told him he didn't have a choice if the siding is ruined he didn't like that. I told him we wouldn't pay him a dime until our siding looked normal. He said he has two options at this point 1. To finish the job and lose money, or 2. Walk away from the job. He acted like he was doing us a huge favor by sticking around and finishing the job. I should have just told him to walk away from the job and not have to deal with him ever again. He came out first thing the next morning to look at the siding (and yell at his employee at 7:30AM outside of my house. Really professional). He researched the product the painter had used to removed the paint splatter. He found a product to clean the side of the house, which removed the giant spots. The siding didn't need replaced, thank goodness. He treated his employee horribly. We kept saying we're not mad at his employee, we just want our house fixed.
At the end of the project our entire roof was covered in paint scrapings because they don't put tarp down over anything. We had to ask them to clean our roof off, otherwise I think they would have just left it for my husband to clean up. Putting tarp over the siding would have prevented the paint splatters as well...just a thought. To top it off, one of the painters tried to make me feel bad about Jason breaking even or possible losing money on our job (because of him buying the wrong paint and having to pay his worker to clean up the siding). Yeah, that's not our fault and so unprofessional.
We regret ever calling this company. Please don't make the same mistake we did. read more
