And they only allow you to swim within a very narrow area in front of their stands- nowhere else, not even wading between stands! I was bodyboarding in the same area for about 45 minutes staying within the boundaries and next thing I know an aggressive lifeguard come over to tell me to move over closer to their stand and if I had done that I could have easily run into any number of small children wading in the shallow area where the waves were depositing me. This makes me not want to even go into the water, nor would I ever recommend this place to swim. I even had a whistle blown at me for wading up to my waist! A total buzz kill! Nope , we won't be returning here next summer! Not worth the aggravation

This beach is decidedly sleepier than Ocean City, Sea Isle, and many non-LBI beaches, and most of its charm is from its inherent "coziness." The lifeguards were very kind and vigilant, making sure that the no-swimming zones were properly demarcated and that we could enjoy the offings of the beach. Free street parking and some mini golf and ice cream nearby. What more can I say? :)

While I didn't find many of the famous Cape May diamonds, I still loved walking the shoreline and taking in the view. The atmosphere during sunset was wonderful, with people gathering to watch the sun go down together. There's also a visible sunken ship. Was mostly chill until sunset of course, people gathered to watch the sunset. Restaurant right on the beach, 2 gift shops, a mini cold course, the WWIl lookout tower as well. Plenty of parking. It's definitely worth adding to your Cape May itinerary.

Lots of clothing and home stores. My favorite is the 5&10 because it has a variety of merchandise. It's a little like going back in time. The strip is kept clean. There are benches to sit on. It's about a block from the beach, so it's an easy walk to go from the beach to get something to eat. Public Bathrooms are located at the end closer to the beach. The beach is nice. You walk up through the dunes. It's not a real long beach.

You can't purchase food that will slowly clog your arteries and eventually kill you. 3. You can't throw away money playing stupid games 4. You don't have to walk a mile to get to the water. 5. You will have to share the beach with some birdies. 6. You will realize as you drive around town and when you get to the beach that the people and the homes seem uppity. 7. You would probably thank your stars that you found this quiet, sophisticated haven that is a change from other Jersey Shore fare. 8. And then some girls will walk up to you and ask if you have day tags. That's when you decide whether to cough up $6 per person for the privilege to stay or leave. If it is a good weather day and you are not a family of 10 (keep busy are we?!) stay!
