I've been to Jeanne twice now, and received two excellent haircuts. She's also a very sweet, genuine person. The first time she cut my hair, it was right before a wedding, and when I went back 4 months later, she remembered the wedding and asked how it went. She's also a great consultant, and won't just cut your hair but will give you great recommendations on how to style it after the cut. Dictionary definition of a hidden gem!

Thank Goodness since my daughter who moved here a few years earlier had found one who knew how to cut curly hair! Kathy at LUX SALON is the greatest and sweetest hair stylist!! I phoned first to make sure the salon was in my price range :) I was told hair cuts are in the $20-$25.00 range so I scheduled an appointment. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by a very friendly woman. She turned out to be our stylist, Kathi who stated she was running a bit behind. No problem. The salon was very warm, inviting, and nicely decorated. My 7 year old was happy to see a big screen TV hanging on the wall. :) We only waited about 10 minutes when Kathi announced she was ready for my daughter. I described what I wanted for her hair. I sat down in the waiting area and could hear Kathi and how friendly she was with my daughter. She obviously loves kids! A short time later my daughter emerged and I just LOVED her hair. Kathi did such a fabulous job that I plan on getting my hair done there too! And the cost was very reasonable considering her hair was washed, cut, and styled. Kudos to Kathi and we'll definitely be back.

The biggest frustration has been what appears to be over booking on the technology end, and failure for the system/customer service to support and correct situations where there is not enough staff to support the number of appointments. It makes it hard to enjoy the color experience when you know that your colorist is being asked to do (and is doing) the impossible because there is no system for making the corrections needed to balance the workload. This is not a poor reflection on the staff at all. This is just a comment on the impact of a technical/process problem that affects everyone.

I've had color done by her before and I hope to do so again in the future. It's always wonderful to see her smile and enjoy the work she does. Edit: I will never arrive here again. I was admitted to the hospital on the day of my appointment and was charged 70% of the appointment because I was considered no call no show. I have been charged $175.00 While I NOW, understand your "policy" is that after 30 minutes you can charge whatever fee you deem fair for missing an appointment, your also at fault. After looking at my phone records I see that my sister called for me the day I was admitted. Whether or not your staff informed you is on you. Not me. Even if I showed that to you, which I can, I now know you wouldn't reverse the charge which you made very clear on the phone after I had informed of my emergency hospitalization. You are at fault for the following: 1. Not having your staff inform you of changes when you are in fact called 2. Not calling your clients within that 30 minutes to check if that are coming or there is an emergency. Which you stated, Liz, that you do not have to do. 3. Punishing, not simply following policy, but punishing a 4+ year client for being hospitalized. Of which I have documents. I also offered to show it to you, Liz, when we spoke on the phone. In the which you replied you have zero interest in seeing. 4. No matter how many times you tell me, "We gave you plenty of notice with multiple texts and emails" This apparantly does not account for ANY medical emergency or Acts of God. In other words, if a client had been struck by a car and was hospitalized or even died your stance verbatim on the phone was "It's policy that I charge you 70% and in some cases 100% of the appointment that's been missed." While I can understand a charge/fee for no call no show, which turns out this situation is not, what you have implemented is punishment for the client, while falsely claiming it's protection for your staff since "they are not hourly". But this partly false? Why? Because you're establishment clearly states you accept walk-ins. While your staff is paid hourly the opportunity for income is only denied by your "policy" in order to accept fees at the expense of not only your clients, but also your staff, who likely lost the client due to this policy. I'm truly saddened, frustrated, and embarrassed at your lack of business ethics, empathy, and greed. As a business owner myself, I do not and will not recommend you Liz or your establishment to anyone. Your shame knows no bounds.

I went to one in Portland, and although it was a cute salon and "supposedly" a great stylist, they were just ok. I think sometimes the look of salon can be deceiving. Immediately the sweet gal greeted me and said, "Were you the one who called?" She had a hair cut walk in also. She was amazing and filled a pedicure spot for me to soak and use the massage chair. The great part about a pedicure is you are a crazy person if you complain about alone time with the massage chair and soak. So when she said she was going to do the haircut and be with me in ten minutes I did not complain one bit and told her to take her time! She was wonderful and did such a great and thorough job.
