Just before the new year I splurged to get a new look at a very fancy, very EXPENSIVE salon in the Pearl district and left that experience feeling defeated, used and looking like sh*t. I had just had another bank breaking major hair fail, and it was the final straw, I got home looked in the mirror and started crying. I spent several weeks "getting back out there" until I finally decided to give Christina at 360 Hair Studio a try. I am half Chinese half German with THICK, wavy, constitutionally dry hair. No stylist has EVER finished my hair on time during an appointment. It's always a mad scramble to get me done and out of the chair b/c the next unfortunate soul has been waiting. No matter how many times I've told stylist that extra time will be needed, no one ever believes me. Sometimes you need to go see someone who has similar hair, or may have a similar background to understand where you're coming from. My first appointment with Christina, was to fix the haircut. It was so whacked that we had to go shorter than I had originally wanted to but I followed her advice and she took time and skill to thin out my crazy mane into a cute, sleek, perfectly layered shoulder length bob. My second appointment a month later was to correct the horrible choppy orange Balayage. Christina was like a seasoned PRO, foiling me up in record time, washed, toned, conditioned AND even fit in adding bangs to my look.... IN AN HOUR and a HALF! :-0 I was completely speechless! I couldn't believe my hair! Soft, straight, ashy light brown n soft blondes perfectly blended in with my medium brown hair. I grinned so hard all the way home cheeks hurt! Christina is kind, personable, warm, trendy, professional, fast as hell and so reasonably priced. I finally feel I can trust again in my hair relationship! She gave me a curly cut and charged me nearly $120. - I have wavy hair but sometimes straighten it - the layers in the back ended in the middle of my head and I couldn't straighten it for 6 months because it looked awful - it wouldn't lay flat and had a huge dip towards the bottom. It looked insane. - She cut so much from underneath my hair looked stringy on all sides when wavy and uneven on the sides if straightened. - Front layers around my face were completely uneven - I went to a different stylist and she pointed out everything she still couldn't fix and how the front "blending" wasn't blended, and showed where I had pieces that were still very short on one side and longer on another. After 6 months of growing it out. I work in a professional environment and got feedback from my manager that I should "spring for a decent haircut" after she cut my hair. This wasn't inexpensive at all. Emily seemed distracted and had mentioned that she relocated from a different salon in the city and hadn't brought any clients along with her. She is a nice lady but it is not professional, honest and borders on unethical for her to present herself as an experienced, seasoned professional and charge a rate appropriate for that skill level only to start the appointment late and completely ruin my hair for the better part of a year.

You're required to agree to their cancellation policy, which is basically a nice way of threatening you with a 50% charge if you don't cancel before a certain time. I thought this was a bit excessive but I was confidant I could make my appointment and ultimately didn't have a problem with providing my credit card info. After booking my appointment, you're subsequently bombarded with texts and emails (I counted 6 total) about your appointment times, asking you to respond and confirm you're still going and then appointment reminders leading up to the day and time. (These people are serious about you showing up!) My appointment was at 11:00am. I received a call from my stylist at 9:45am (the day of!!) telling me she works two jobs and they booked her for the HairM job on the wrong day and had to cancel my appointment. I was left scrambling to try and find a haircut before leaving town. Pretty disappointing experience for a service I never got to experience....
