Hotel Eloisa - Super disgusting!! These are our pillows and mattresses :(

What a sweet and quaint place to stay. The hotel has 2 pools…read more One on the rooftop and the other down below near the entryway. Both are super refreshing and welcomed in Puerto Vallarta. This hotel is located in the middle of the plaza and about 1/2 a block from the beach! There is a pharmacy to get your hygiene needs directly outside the hotel. There are also several other sweet stores directly around the hotel, local street vendors and the beach, the beach, the beach!!! The staff is really nice and on top of everything that was aided by guests. There is individual air conditioning room units in each room to maintain a cooler temperature than the local Puerto Vallarta weather. Otherwise, there are TWO pools at this hotel as well as the beach located less than 1/2 a block away. The bed was comfortable and the shower has plenty of room to get clean after the beach day. Enjoy your stay

5 rating for location in Zona Romántica. 2 rating for facility and comfort…read more Took a long time for one of the two non occupied front desk attendants to greet us for check in. A guy who looked like he normally works maintenance insisted on rolling our singular suitcase to walk us into our hotel room and 'inspect' the room per a paper checklist for presence and function of guest towels, glasses, TV remote, AC remote. Felt weird being asked to check that we had towels in the room before he would leave... The room felt old, the bathroom was like it was pulled from an old gym locker room. Curtains were not blackout and since our window and door faced the atrium stairs you can hear all the hallway and stair traffic at early hours. Bring an eye mask, ear plugs, and shower sandals for your stay here. In stark contrast to the room interior, the rooftop facilities including pool, patio chairs, covered bar area were clearly updated and modern with a beautiful beach view. I would rather have slept on the roof for my stay, but hey, the location is pretty awesome and may be worth while for you! Would not recommend and probably won't be coming back.

It's too bad I cannot give La Joya zero stars, otherwise I would. When I was looking for an…read moreapartment, I contacted Roger among other apartment finders. He showed me places that were not within my specifications and when I told him I was going to look at another place, he asked where it was. He said "I know the owner, let me talk to him" It turned out that he did NOT know the owner and was scamming me. Roger is dishonest and lied to both the owner and me and told me not to contact the owner about anything and that he would do the communicating. He told me that the apartment was leased by a woman for July and I could move into another place in the same building and move into my requested place once that was over. That seemed reasonable, and I took the offer. This apartment was under repair and was more suited to college students on break than for an adult trying to create a home. After a couple of weeks, I asked for a status on my desired apt. He told me that the lease was through October and suddenly, the lease was a man and that the price (quoted to me by the owner) had gone up an additional $100! I said no to that. I had some procedural questions about the building itself, so I emailed the owner. He told me that Roger had told him that I had OFFERED to pay the additional money and that the place I wanted had been taken off the market. He contacted Roger and neither of us has heard from him since. I am now in a unit in the same building and, although not quite as nice, I am happy and dealing directly with the owner, who is great. Roger seems to be only out for his commission and does not care about the people he works for. STAY AWAY!

Sometimes it works out, and other times, you end up with a moldy bathroom and a bird's nest on top of your bedroom roof, with a chirpy bird singing to you at 2 AM, 3 AM and 5 AM. We were upgraded to an apartment style suite with kitchenette for our 100 bucks, and while the amenity of a kitchen was nice, the apartment itself looked a bit grimy and in need of a deep cleaning. The bathroom sink occasionally had some cockroaches (the small ones, not the big ones) popping up to say hello from the sink drain. The shower eventually got hot water but usually after a long wait. The in room safe did not work. Oh, and I'm not kidding about the birds. I thought it was inside the room at one point, because it was so loud. If you decide that these "amenities" are worth enduring, it's not a bad deal. But avoid #300 (the birds) For us, traveling over a busy Christmas/NYE week, it was the only deal available. Pros: Cheap. Hotel is close to all the major buses- including Sayulita, Centro, and the Airport. There is a 24 hour Pharmacy very close by and close enough to a decent beach just a few blocks north (nicer than Muertos). Good cheap espresso/cappucino can be had next door. Also, a quick 15 minute ride into Centro. Reception is very nice and accomodating as well. Nice enough rooftop pool area with view as well, although the water looked kind of dirty.

We've been coming to Puerto Vallarta (Zona Romantica, Amapas) almost every year since 2016. We've…read morestayed once at the Brisas Del Mar but have since stayed at One Beach Street Vallarta ever since. That all came to an end in 2025 as we were greeted with news of an electrical problem meaning no air conditioning in the room at One Beach Street. It was June and it was very muggy & hot. That was a no-go. Plus, the room wasn't the nicest or cleanest either. EXPERIENCE: We simply walked across the street to check out V Azul. We actually watched it being built back in 2016 while staying at Brisas Del Mar, jackhammering and all. Funny but not funny that 9 years later, we stayed at V Azul and the jackhammering continued as neighboring Condominios Torre Malibu AC was redoing their pool. If you can't laugh it off, you'll go crazy! LOBBY: We walked into the cool, clean, all-glass lobby to a friendly gal. We told her our situation, got to see the available room and was sold. The "hotel" is small, 12 rooms on 4 floors, with a small pool and outdoor kitchen amenities on the rooftop 6th floor. ROOM 401: It's a beautiful ocean view, 1 bedroom with private balcony apartment really. The kitchen came fully stocked with everything expected, a full-sized refrigerator & freezer with ice maker, 4-burner stove with full-sized oven, toaster oven, microwave & coffee maker. A stacked washer & dryer was hidden in a cabinet which we used daily, along with an iron & board. The living room had a pull out and single sofa, coffee table and TV with Roku. Wi-Fi was strong. Two split unit a/c's, one in the living room and one in the bedroom kept us nice and cool. The only negative was that once the front, sliding doors or any windows were opened, the system would completely turn off, forcing you to manually turn them back on. Oddly there was no seal under the front door which contradicted the energy-saving effort and also let in some noise from the jackhammering happening next door and a huge roach on our last night. There was a brief power outage on night seven of eight, which resulted in both a/c's becoming inoperable, forcing us to sleep in heat. Maintenance quickly resolved it the next day. The bedroom was perfectly-sized with a small closet, safe, comfortable king bed and fairly good pillows. The balcony was a good size, spanned the bedroom to the living room and featured a small table and two chairs. Sunset views were sweet. The bathroom featured an oversized shower, plenty of hot water and good water pressure. My only gripe was I couldn't adjust the shower head's spray style, and some of the nozzles needed poking as calcium build up created wayward streams . Two-way access via the kitchen & bedroom was very convenient. Power outlets were standard 110 volt and plentiful. TIP: No children allowed. OVERALL: Quaint, clean, newer, quiet (if no neighboring construction is going on), conveniently located one block from the beach and within walking distance to Zona Romantica.
