Would definitely consider Hotel Eloisa when staying in this particular area of Puerto Vallarta! Checking in took an extra few minutes as our reservation got lost (we booked a package deal on Expedia) but front desk rep Ramòn made everything go smoothly after that! We were led to our room, which was 3 floors up. They had the option of both stairs & elevator. Upon entering the room, it was spacious & clean. As stated in a previous review the beds were on the older side, no fitted sheet just 2 flat sheets in which one was your blanket (be sure to bring an extra if you get cold easily). The bathroom was on the smaller side but no biggie. What caught my eye was 2 drains; one in the shower & another like 2 feet away. We learned when you take a shower, the water leaks everywhere, hence the 2nd drain. I also refuse to shower barefoot, so my slides helped me from slipping on the tile They offer breakfast on the roof, which was a nice addition to our stay. There's also 2 pools, one on the ground level & the other on the roof! Both are pretty, both we went in lol Only con about our view was we were obstructed by the power lines when looking to the street & the hotel in front of us to get a full view of the beach. Overall, a great stay!

!!!!!!Beware of this hotel!!!! Pictures they're showing on website are of only one unit that is remodeled. When booking I use Priceline believing that Priceline Vouchers for their hotels I was sadly disappointed. I needed a book A hotel last minute. I go on Priceline look at the pictures and think it's a great deal I called the hotel and ask if I book on Priceline if I can check in within 20 minutes and they say I can. I book on Priceline and then get to the hotel when checked in I get into the room that looks nothing like the picture showing of a remodel bathroom/hotel room instead I got a very outdated room. With only an air conditioner no refrigerator and a bathroom that looks like it's about to fall apart. The bathroom itself doesn't have a window it has bricks they have holes in the wall they're open to the outside now you can have Covid and any bug just walk on through. If you are worried about getting charged you should be because this hotel warned you that if you leave the air on when you leave the room you'll be charged you can see holes under the door outlets that look like they're very unsafe. I couldn't get any signal on my phone so I asked for the Wi-Fi.The Wi-Fi wouldn't connect so I went to the lobby with the most unfriendly staff you'll find 10 for me there's only Wi-Fi and common areas downstairs. Now there's no way to use my phone in the room the bathroom is smelling very funny maybe from outside who knows. I spent about 15 minutes in the room I called Priceline which they tell me there's nothing that they can do I'm just out my $600. The more I look around the more I feel unsafe I end up having to pay Ww to book the hotel right down the street. I tried contacting Priceline with no help. Moral of the story never used Priceline and if you value your life never book with this hotel!!!

We travel frequently and don't require fancy, but we were a little dismayed when we checked in to Eloisa Hotel. The inside room we were given was dark, dingy and depressing. The shower sprayed straight out, hitting the wall. There was a vent of some sort in the bathroom where if you stood on the sink you could probably see into the bathroom next door. It appears they are in the process of updating, room by room. We asked the front desk if we could move to an outside room, thinking AT LEAST we'd have a place to hang out. The next morning we were awarded with a NEW UPDATED room that was FABULOUS!! Many other guests went through the same process. As folks checked out, guests were moved into the better rooms. The old rooms cost the same as the new rooms, so you aren't allowed to request rooms, except for the suites which are larger and have a kitchenette. So, the new room on the balcony was nothing fancy, but nicely updated and overlooking the park. This hotel is smack in the middle of everything. The staff is friendly. They serve a decent continental breakfast up on the rooftop. The beach is right across the street (hint: Any of the restaurants along the beach there will allow you to sit in their beach chairs as long as your drink and have a meal!) One thing that surprised me was the number of older couples and older single women staying there, some for months at a time, bare bones and all. It occured to me, those were the wealthy folks, looking for the experience, rather than luxury. We will be staying there next year. Absolutely loved it. LOVED IT! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR LUXURY, GO ELSEWHERE! If you want basic clean, convenient, lively, friendly...this is your place. If you can get it. Sells out quickly.
What a sweet and quaint place to stay. The hotel has 2 pools. One on the rooftop and the other down below near the entryway. Both are super refreshing and welcomed in Puerto Vallarta. This hotel is located in the middle of the plaza and about 1/2 a block from the beach! There is a pharmacy to get your hygiene needs directly outside the hotel. There are also several other sweet stores directly around the hotel, local street vendors and the beach, the beach, the beach!!! The staff is really nice and on top of everything that was aided by guests. There is individual air conditioning room units in each room to maintain a cooler temperature than the local Puerto Vallarta weather. Otherwise, there are TWO pools at this hotel as well as the beach located less than 1/2 a block away. The bed was comfortable and the shower has plenty of room to get clean after the beach day. Enjoy your stay read more

5 rating for location in Zona Romántica. 2 rating for facility and comfort. Took a long time for one of the two non occupied front desk attendants to greet us for check in. A guy who looked like he normally works maintenance insisted on rolling our singular suitcase to walk us into our hotel room and 'inspect' the room per a paper checklist for presence and function of guest towels, glasses, TV remote, AC remote. Felt weird being asked to check that we had towels in the room before he would leave... The room felt old, the bathroom was like it was pulled from an old gym locker room. Curtains were not blackout and since our window and door faced the atrium stairs you can hear all the hallway and stair traffic at early hours. Bring an eye mask, ear plugs, and shower sandals for your stay here. In stark contrast to the room interior, the rooftop facilities including pool, patio chairs, covered bar area were clearly updated and modern with a beautiful beach view. I would rather have slept on the roof for my stay, but hey, the location is pretty awesome and may be worth while for you! Would not recommend and probably won't be coming back. read more

I'm conflicted about writing this review because I actually ended up enjoying the stay. it however did not begin off that way. Prior to arriving,i called the hotel to ensure that the reservation was in good standing, meaning it existed. she found my reservation, which was good.i asked if i could have a king bed. she exclaimed that no room had a king bed, which i knew was a lie because i researched the hotels website and saw rooms with king bed. I figured that she was telling me that because i booked the reservation via HOTEL TONIGHT and i know some hotels are biased against that particular booking engine. so i acquiesced!!!! now, when i arrived, i checked and was given room 408 (which was situated facing inward, so people walking by can see into your room and if you looked over ledge, all you saw was pile of trash at bottom on the first floor) upon entering, i was immediately transported back to 1969, the decor was outdated. the tiles were dirty (reddish in color), the sheets were filthy. the bathroom was filthy and had a horrendous smell. the towels were ragged and worn out. I was shocked. I thought to myself "don't be that guy" & " you can make this work".. but, eventually I decided to at least inquire with the front desk. I kindly went to speak to the young lady at the front and formed ( in my broken spanish, lol) the request asking for a different room. something larger. There was a guy sitting there (this time) , he had the lady show me room 301 and i think 312. both suites. I tell you, when i was shown those rooms. it was like completely different. I mean like night and day. modern fixtures, clean thick sheets, newer towels. rain shower, porcelain sink. small kitchen area. living room area. modern tiling. glass walk in shower. updated toilet. multiple plug outlets (the original room had 1) dimming lights. modern ac unit. i could go on. my point is just WOW. between the 2, I decided 301 was the right size (mind you the view blew chunks. it was a literal tear down building with a homeless hoarder living there, i didn't care because the view was not my top priority, but i can see how that would be OFF PUTTING) when i went back to front desk. the guy was like 175 extra dollars. i was livid because i immediately felt DUPED. it almost felt like a scam they perform to everyone. and he wanted it in cash, which i also thought was sketchy. I hid my disdain and accepted it because it was that much better than the original option. got the cash and got my keys and i was in a much better place. please note - most of the staff speaks NOOOOOO english, except for one lady and a they guy, which i do believe is by design. they were all nice enough though. This place could be a gem, if they modernized/redesigned all the rooms. placed more garden and seating areas (with canopies for the sun) on the roof by the pool. placed a beautiful large garden on the first floor with an extended lounge area, so when you look down from the ledges, that's what you see. also they need to update the wifi so you can access it throughout the property. etc All in all, i enjoyed the stay once in the modern room. i will think twice prior to booking there again... well, there is my experience and perception. read more

Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from this place. We stayed here one night, and it was one night too many. The front desk on arrival was the worst, and it didn't get any better from there. We didn't get the king bed room we booked, and when we questioned it, it was a take it or leave it attitude. The TV didn't work, the toilet was broken, and the pool was closed for construction! The crowd noise and thumping music from the bars underneath our room made it impossible to sleep. After a sleepless night in this noise box, we couldn't wait to check out and find another hotel for the remaining 3 nights of our vacation. Stay away from this poor excuse for a "hotel". You will be glad you did. By the way, in reality, this is really no stars, not the one star that is mandatory. read more

We booked our hotel stay through Hotels.com. After checking in we went to take a shower and there was no hot water. In talking to other guests they said they did not have hot water for several days. The AC in one of our rooms was dripping water one on the beds. Another room had mold in the shower. We decided to find other accommodations. We tried to cancel the reservation through Hotels.com and after talking to my fourth representative I called Amex and asked for a full refund. Hotels.com said they do not offer refunds. Needless to say I will not be staying at this hotel ever again nor will I be booking through Hotels.com. read more

Only one problem here, bedbugs, fleas, I don't know. I've stayed there before and enjoyed it and if it weren't for the bug bites all over my legs I would've enjoyed it again. for that reason it only gets one star. It does have a pool on the roof where other flea bitten guests are scratching and commiserating. I hope they can do something about this because I really do like the location and pretty much everything else. Now... me let me go find that tube of hydrocortisone! read more

I stayed at this hotel from 5-20 until 5-24. The noise was awful. I was placed above the street and could hardly sleep. In the morning VERY early they started construction on the rooms next to me. I would then try to take an afternoon nap with same results. Mentioned it to the front desk several times with really no response. The location is great. Just not quick to provide the service to make sure guest are happy. I am coming home tired instead of rested. read more

Disgusting & Unsafe hotel. Stay at your own risk! This was my first time at this particular hotel. Never again! I have never stayed in a more revolting hotel. The room smelled of sewage, the room was dirty and the excuse for a bathroom is disgrace. Sheets were clean but the mattresses were from the 1960s (without mattress cover). The towels were stained and 20 years old. Wenever showered and could barely sleep in the hotel. We tried to find another hotel after our arrival, but there were no available hotel due to the holiday. ORBITz takes no responsibility and turns their dirty, disgusting situation around on the orbitz customer. They have lost a customer and I advise you to check the room extremely carefully if you decide to stay at this flea ridden hotel or ANY ORBITZ hotel. I only wish you could give it less then 1 start in the rating. read more

We stayed from 4/10/17-4/15. Perfect location. You can see the beach from the hotel, a very short walk, and you can walk everywhere! Staff were friendly. Hotel was clean and inexpensive. There's also a restaurant, coffee shop and bar attached--and they are all good! I'll be back! read more

First off, we were bait and switched right when we walked in the door. They make us haul all of our stuff up two flights, get us settled, just to tell us when we come downstairs to leave that they put us in the wrong room (a room with an air conditioner when we "didn't pay for one" to start.) Of course they know after we have already been in there and felt the air conditioning, we know that it's needed as it's 90 degrees outside. They order us to pay $100 or we will need to haul our stuff somewhere else. So we oblige. Staff is super rude, Ramón (the front desk guy) literally got in our face yelling at us and sent the other staff around with us stalking us (he couldn't be bothered to get off his chair to do anything himself.) We didn't get towels the entire time we were there, despite asking numerous times. They couldn't be bothered to bring them up, ever. The rooms are gross, in fact the mattresses are really dirty. You can hear everything anyone in the next room is saying, the walls are paper thin. They make you wear bracelets the entire stay, you can't even take them off to shower or anything to make sure you don't have more than the allowed number of guests in your room- super inconvenient and annoying. The wifi NEVER works, despite them having 27 different networks with a long password that never works either. They also cannot be bothered to come help you with it, especially not Ramón as he just bosses his staff around to do it all. Our key hardly ever worked on our door, we spent 5 minutes pushing it in and out every time. They will charge you 100 extra fees after you get there so be prepared to pay an extra $200 once you get there. The pools close early and they're very very small. Honestly better off staying in a freakin hostel, it will save you the headache of dealing with this place. read more
