I use to live in these apartments for quite some time. Do not get me wrong on this review when I…read moresay that this is the WORST place to live, because the apartments themselves are very nice and up-kept. The main problem with these apartments is you are limited, and there is no privacy. The Landlord owns not only these apartments but also a construction company, and his name is Mike Coats. Mike Coats is a major business man that is very rude to most/all residences that live here. I have over heard him cuss out many people in these apartments, and I know for fact that these people are amazing, and NEVER late on their rent, however he consistently yells and is very unprofessional about his work when it comes to renting these apartments. He has an amazing and very polite desk clerk which handles the rent and the leasing. Mike himself is the main problem, as he is unorganized, unprofessional, and simply impolite to the majority of his residence. If there is one place you'd want to live, I can guarantee this is not the place to move to. There is apartments right next to this location with a better price, and a more professional staff/crew on hand called Pepper Tree Apartments. There is also another one right in the same fenced in community called Carnagie Apartments if I am not mistaken. However to clear up this review, I would not recommend to ever deal with Mike Coats both with his apartments and his business. This man only has a selected few that he will not only respect, but help, and only those who do not need help is who he helps along with people that are other company owners that will give him money. This man is only interested in the money you give him, and then after that day you hand him money, he will then treat you like complete crap until you owe him on the first of the next month. (My evidence of this review: I have lived there for nearly half a year to 2/3 of a year. I could not stand it any longer of the punishing living style of consistently hearing him yell and bang on peoples doors. Along with him, the neighbors that live there are extremely loud in the halls, and will buzz everyone's buzzers for complete none sense.) Added Information of these Apartments: Mike Coats will ONLY be nice to you before your move in, and in front of other guests or new faces of the apartments. Try to avoid one on one time with him for he will immediately turn to the other cheek and be awfully rude. He was consistently cussing at people and my 5 year old daughter had to hear it all. This is NOT the perfect place to have kids for he does not respect anyone but himself and a very small selection of people who live here. Like I said, he is self centered and has no respect for anyone else but himself. He needs to be wise and think for a moment that we pay him. Without us, he is not as rich as he thinks, and if anything he will immediately go out of business if he continues this trend. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED! Big disappointment considering I had to give away my puppy that I raised from 6 weeks old before moving in.

The Woods of Liberty - 1x1 Renovated

The Woods of Liberty

Living at The Woods of Liberty has been one of the worst housing experiences I've ever had. On the…read moresurface the complex looks okay, but once you're actually inside the unit, the problems hit you fast and they never really get fixed. There are serious issues with the building itself. I've had wasps literally coming into the bathroom from inside the walls, which is not just annoying, it's a real safety and health concern. There is visible mold, recurring leaks, and a constant feeling that the place is damp, dirty, and poorly maintained no matter how much you clean. What makes it even worse is the way management and the organization operate. Problems get brushed off, "fixed" halfway, or dragged out forever, and you're left living with the consequences. They are quick to take your rent but unbelievably slow to take responsibility for basic habitability and repairs. The way things are handled feels even dirtier than the mold and the leaks in the walls. If you're considering moving here, think very carefully before signing anything. Between the insects coming through the walls, the mold, the leaks, and the dismissive management, this place is not worth the money or the stress.

There are many problems with this apartment complex that the property manager seems to sweep under…read morethe rug when you move in. In the summer, the place gets so warm that the temperature constantly goes to 90 degrees or higher if you don't leave the A/C on full time. There are multiple leaks in the ceiling that maintenance never really fixes. They just say they're going to when you talk to them. My electricity was out for an extended period of time since Ohio Edison took my meter! The apartment complex claimed not to know about it but it seems very fishy that an electric company can just take your meter and stop service for no reason. After I finally got the electricity back after like 18 days (during which I had to move out temporarily), I just asked the property manager to lower my rent for that month. She refused and said that it wasn't the apartment complex's fault at all so her hands were tied. She even did a random inspection on my apartment during a weekday and interrupted a very important work meeting I was in for no clear reason. She told me that she informed me about it but I didn't receive any email or text correspondence from her. Overall, I'm very disatisfied with the way I've been treated like I don't matter as a tenant. I'm just hoping that when I move out, I'll get my security deposit back due to the multiple leaks that have occurred (not my fault but afraid apartment will try to pin it on me anyways). Advising a strict word of caution to anybody who wants to rent here! Be careful. The apartment leasing staff is only nice until you move in, and then they don't care about you. Update: After multiple complaints, the maintenance department did address my leakage issue but still did not fix all the leaks despite assurances that they would do so. The landlord did talk to me about this and said that she would try to do everything she could and improve her communication with me, yet I was still left in the same boat wondering what was happening with my apartment (there were no further texts/emails from her).

My fiancé and I moved into Ashberry Village several months ago. Arguments can be made for and…read moreagainst the cost of living here. Gas and electric are noticeably cheap in Niles and the size of these units will maintain a constantly low bill. The garages are well designed for one car and some storage, so the $75 additional/month for that luxury is well-spent. The initial deposit was average and I didn't blink an eye, until I saw the fee per dog. Upon lease signing you must deposit an additional $300 per dog, on top of an additional $30/month per dog. Seems outrageous but again, we're willing to pay the premium for the environment. Environment; it's super quiet and relatively reclusive neighbors. If you want a "Cheers" style neighborhood look elsewhere. If you're alright with a neighborhood where nobody will wave at you unless you've complicitly introduced yourself previously then this will work for you as it does for us. Be ready for a large majority of your neighbors to be retirees and a quieter young crowd. On a plus side, background checks are thorough and strictly adhered to upon lease applications...so safety is not even an issue. My biggest complaint is the lack of our own park or pool. When I'm paying more than for any other complex in the city I would expect to have one or both of those advantages...not "sharing" one with a complex up the road. My biggest upside is the management and the maintenance man are the two best people to run this place. Absolutely fantastic, understanding, capable, and competent individuals. Pay the money and this place could be a great home. Save some money and get another average taupe drab apartment in the city. Up to you. (Drive through the place and ask to see a vacant unit...that made up my mind.)
