We have been renting a home from Equity for several months now. The house was newly remodeled and…read morevery well done. The kitchen is new and beautiful. Brand new flooring throughout - carpeting and wood flooring. The basement was also partially finished. All said and done, the house is great and so is the property. It felt like home not long after moving in and we're really happy with our decision. We moved in while the last of the remodeling was being completed and Tom, the maintenance man, was professional and super nice. He was reasonable in the amount of noise he made and asked when a good time would be to finish up. His work was very good and, again, he's a really nice guy. We have made two maintenance requests and they were dealt with promptly. They weren't major issues, but the response time was what I would expect for a serious issue - super fast. We've been really happy with Equity so far. Apparently some people think we pay a lot in rent, but the house and property are great. I live here, it's a good fair value. That said, you can find cheaper places than what Equity offers, but remember you get what you pay for. You can't beat the quality of Equity's properties and the level of service they provide.

I emailed them a list of houses I was interested in seeing and they got back to me within one day and we were able to see all the houses the next day in a single afternoon. Cynthia personally walked me through each home and shared her expertise with me in an honest manner about the good and bad points of each property. Her company also does property management, I recommended her to my friend, who is an overseas investor and has a property in Youngstown, and he has had nothing but good things to say about the service provided. I would definitely recommend her company to anyone who is looking for a realtor or property manager in Youngstown.

I apologize for taking so long to update this. My experience with this company was great for years…read moreuntil it became a two-person team instead of just Cynthia. After that, I was told that they evicted a tenant for non-payment. That would be fine if it had been true. My house was supposedly vacant for a long time because I was told they were fixing damages caused by the evicted tenant and making required upgrades before re-renting. I guess they lost track of what they had been telling me. After several months, they charged me for the same repair twice, and then let it slip that the tenant living at my house complained that the repair needed to be done again. WAIT .... WHAT?!? Remember, I had been told my property was not rented, I had not been paid rent for several months, and I was bleeding thousands of dollars in repair costs, yet clearly they had a secret tenant living there. Before this happened, I had accumulated a large credit (I would cash out rarely) and they used all of my credit plus charged me thousands more. Totally unethical!! The company which had been honorable for years was no longer so. As a non-local landlord without a trustworthy property management company, I sold the house in 2019.

Paid over $200 for the application fees and pet service fees. They requested proof for my boyfriend's employment due to recently starting a new, better paying job because it "qualified us over the income requirement" no problem, it was quickly emailed to Mike, who we were working with. Went a week without any communication, we contacted Isra, who contacted us back decently quick and informed us that Mike had "misplaced" what we emailed him and she needed it sent to her. It was sent over the same day. Waited another week without any communication, called the office, was told we would be called back because it was "now being decided by the owners" 4 days later we received a phone call from Mike stating that the owners had chosen the other applicants because they submitted the deposit with their application, "which gave them a better chance" We were NEVER informed that we needed the deposit submitted with the application, on top of the over $200 in application and pet service fees. I don't recommend this company to anyone looking to rent.
