I came here many times during my stay in Avalon and I mainly got a bagel and coffee. The coffee is a bit expensive but it was great and came with a good amount! The bagels are very fresh. I was charged the wrong amount one time and when I called, the manager was very respectful and cleared things up and my coffee was on them the next day. Service was quick too. read more

Great selection for a quick breakfast. We had bacon egg & cheeses on plain bagels, a croissant and a salt bagel with cinnamon walnut cream cheese. All were delicious. Coffee was good as well. During the week, get there before 9 to beat the rush, on the weekend get there before 745. The cinnamon buns also looked GREAT. Also, they have outdoor seating on the sidewalk. read more

This spot is known for its fresh bagels and coffee. I'm a regular here on summer weekends since it's hard to find bagels this good outside of NJ! It's always packed during those times but the line moves quickly. I always get bagels to go which are delicious and huge. Easily can feed two people for breakfast. Fair prices for the quality you get. One critique I have is that on busy days they run out of bagels by 11 AM. I always wonder why they don't just make more bagels rather then loose all that business. Alas, still a sold spot for breakfast and reliable to make mornings more bearable after a long night at the P.. just get there before 11! read more

Best breakfast on island. Bagels fresh everyday (I have seen them get delivered in the morning with my own eyes) , gigantic breakfast sandwiches and awesome coffee. I will admit, a little confusing for a newcomer, but the small floor space adds to the charm (I think, at least). They do call-ins for those who don't want to wait in line, which are handy for group rentals and families looking for lunch on the beach. Outside seating is at a premium with a dog bowl for the pets and treats inside for the dogs too. This place is PACKED all summer so I suggest to arrive hungry with a little patience and you won't be disappointed. read more

On a Saturday morning in the early summer, they were very busy and a bit disorganized. It too far too long to make two decaf soy lattes. They have very good bagels, when they are fresh, which was not the case for a few I had. With a little more organization, the coffee shop could be much better. read more

I don't get this place. First off ordering and getting coffee is a hassle. The bagels are pretty bad and really have no flavor or fluff, kind of like a piece of cardboard. The eggs were over cooked and plastic looking. Lastly, at a place called coffee co you would expect really good coffee. What you get is ice coffee in a solo cup.... The ice coffee In the solo cup was weird and they fill it so you can't even add milk or sugar. Busy place despite and has a nice decor, they should Improve before they go out of business. read more

Officially THE WORST ESPRESSO I EVER HAD! That's including airports, miscellaneous bakeries and corner stores in different cities in US and abroad. Honestly. I was aware that their coffee is not so good but I thought may be acquired espresso machine in effort to improve. Well, that was a mistake. Good bagels and nice cream cheese selection. Tried iced coffee for the first time and it was very bitter. It is also quite chaotic on the weekend as there are separate lines for coffee, food, and the registers. It definitely takes a few trips to figure it out. There is also a $10 credit card minimum which is pretty inconvenient. It's pretty pricey too-- bagel with cream cheese & iced coffee was around $7.50. Overall, it's just okay. read more

The coffee here is fair, the iced coffee is weak, and the service is not consistently friendly. I'm from a big city and there's a difference between a place being busy and the owner just being kinda nasty because you have questions about what your ordering. My family and I live in Avalon all summer and get breakfast from Avalon Coffee almost every weekend. Since they always have a line/wait to get to food, we typically like to order online. Multiple times we have put an order online and our order is never complete because they are out of bagels more often than not. Their app does not update based on the inventory so don't even bother using it. At our most recent experience, we ordered 6 sandwiches online and everything we ordered was out of stock upon arrival. They refunded what they couldn't make and my sister waited outside for 35 min for the rest of the order. She went inside to check on the order and the workers nonchalantly handed her the bag that had been sitting there ready for many minutes. They didn't even bother to bring the bag outside once it was ready even after all the issues that occurred prior. We truly love the food and coffee at Avalon Coffee but the service is absolutely horrible. read more

This is the biggest ripoff on the island. I got a simple bagel with scallion cream cheese and iced coffee. The iced coffee was so incredibly bad that I had to throw it out (the coffee was full of grounds). The bagel was not toasted but rather slightly warmed (and cold by the time I got it), and the bagel with cream cheese alone cost nearly $5!!! It was insane. Will never go back. At least Coffee Talk has great food and coffee to go along with their inflated prices. read more

Avoid this shop. TERRIBLE service, poor quality, and overpriced. My husband and I stopped in on our way out of town to grab a latte. While standing in line the rude female workers were telling the cute boys that walked in to cut in front of us, trying pathetically to flirt. After waiting and waiting we finally got bluntly asked "what do you want." Some minutes later we walked out with a terribly bitter and possibly old latte, which we threw out after a couple sips. read more

walk in here in the morning and there's just a whole bunch of people standing around. i'm really not sure which line you're supposed to stand in. everyone else was a little confused as well. i think there's actually three separate lines, one for food, one for coffee orders, and one to check out. the coffee itself is watery and didn't do much for my caffeine fix (i'd opt for the americano as opposed to the fresh brewed drip coffee). the beignets aren't really beignets. i guess there aren't too many options in the immediate area. read more

I agree with another review in that it's confusing when you walk in and the coffee not so great. I'm a starbucks fan so this coffee is pretty weak but not being a Philly native I do like it better than Wawa. I typically go mid morning after I've had my strong coffee at home just to get out and the baked goods are yummy. Bagels and pastries are good, the coffee average, but not so good it is worth the long, confusing and frustrating line. We would perhaps go back if they could figure out to efficiently organize the shop. The counter help for the bagels are great with 3 to 4 people workimg the pastiries and the coffe is self served but for whatever reason the owner has the 1 kid and the cash register ringing up customers, making iced coffe drinks or mocha drinks, grinding beans etc. Problem becomes all the other people suffer the LONG wait to pay. It is a real test of patience. The owner should spend 5 minutes to reorganize the shop. Probably would make a good 10% to 15% more revenue. read more

The coffee here is fine. The prices are a bit high even for a beach area food place. I ordered a small container of chicken salad today (round container about an inch high) and it cost me $9.25. No bread or anything else. It would have been $3 at a grocery store. It is not worth the wait on a Sat or Sunday morning if the line is long. As one reviewer mentioned, the bagels have little taste. Have been coming to Avalon / Avalon coffee for over 20 years. However on our 2016 summer vacation each trip to Avalon coffee was worst than the last. Firstly my family were complaining about the bagel and egg sandwiches. Saying they were bland. However I wrote this off. But on our most recent trip we ordered a couple smoothies which wee very watery and did not have a nice fruit flavor. I ordered an iced Americano, being someone who has worked in the coffee industry I was extremely disappointed to see the barista take "iced espresso" out of the fridge. Honestly I would rather go to wawa at least they make fresh espresso for an iced drink. Will not be returning. read more
