First of all, the photos were fabulous! We did an extended family shoot with grandparents and 4 families with 6 children under age 5, three of whom were toddlers. (Kind of like herding a bunch of cats.) When Jeannie's pictures came back, each of the 4 families were thrilled with them. They loved the pictures of their own children, and the moms' (who can be very critical of how they themselves look) were also pleased with the pictures of themselves! Not an easy task! Jeannie was open to trying backgrounds we suggested, but we did find that there was experience and wisdom in her recommendations. and ended up picking mostly those she had suggested. While searching online for family beach portraits for a project, I came across some photos that were absolutely gorgeous. The light, the clarity, and the compositions were stunning. The colors were vivid and rich; reminded me of a Maxfield Parrish painting. I assumed they had to be from a company in California; the light and backgrounds were that stunning. I was thrilled to discover that it was a photographer not from the Avalon in California, but the Avalon right here in New Jersey! Shortly thereafter, my husband had the idea to give his parents a birthday present of a family beach portrait. I knew EXACTLY who to call. From day one, both Jeannie and Chuck were professional and friendly. Their website is very well laid out and easy to navigate. All costs are listed, so the customer understands what the investment entails. Jeannie photgraphed our family which included multi-generations and two dogs. There were small groups to photograph as well as the entire group. We can be a goofy group and her unflagging patience and pleasant personality made the entire process fun! When it was time to review the proofs, the entire process takes place in an online meeting. I spoke with Chuck on the phone while he went through the photos which showed on my computer screen. There was one I liked but needed to be cropped; no problem. Actually, the only problem I encountered was how to narrow down the selections...there was one great picture after the other! Chuck was extremely helpful, friendly and patient while I asked questions and made decisions. The pictures arrived carefully and thoroughly packaged. We lined them up and "ooohhhhed" and "aaaahhhhed" in admiration. My husband's parents just could not get over how beautiful these portraits turned out. The entire family was completely impressed! When I took all of the pictures to be framed, the reaction from the woman behind the counter was priceless! "WHO did these pictures?!?!?" I told her that it was Avalon Art Photography, and her response was, "I frame alot of these beach portraits from all over the area, and these are the best I've ever seen!" Well-deserved praise! Our portraits have graced our walls since last fall. They bring us immeasurable joy. Avalon Art Photography is fantastic! Jeannie Weber came to our beach in Stone Harbor to take pictures and first off introduced herself to each of our 9 grandkids. She immediately knew which parents went with which kids. She is really, really child friendly. She is also personable, patient and un-flappable. We had nineteen people in the picture. Some of the little ones had melt downs, and she knew just how to handle them. She took a big group picture and individual family picture. Great experience! We had some family portraits and candids taken by Jeannie on the beach in Cape May for my dad's 65th birthday and they were terrific. Jeannie was really flexible, helpful and responsive; she took tons of fantastic photos but also had us in and out in about an hour which was great given that we had a 10 month old with us. She also spent a lot of time with our family on the phone and via web meeting after the shoot helping us narrow down the choices, picking our favorites and getting them ordered. This can be where the whole process breaks down (it took my husband and me 3 years to do our wedding album), but Jeannie is so hands on, she makes sure that you get to the finish line and get just what you want! read more
