Adding this review to the knot for visibility due to the fact I still get messages about this…read morephotographer scamming other brides: I used Sarah Elizabeth Photography NJ (Sarah.Elizabeth.PhotographyNJ) for our wedding August 2025. I do not recommend for multiple reasons. First being lack of communication, I would go weeks-months without a response. I saw this mentioned in some reviews, however those reviews also noted that they received good pictures at the end and chalked it up to her being a busy photographer. My package included a boudoir or engagement session, I chose the boudoir session as we live in Florida and I planned to do the boudoir session while in NJ for my bridal shower. I coordinated my hair trial, make up, nails, bought new lingerie and accessories for the shoot. I arrived at her home/studio, texted to let her know I arrived, with no response, I called and when she answered she let me know the session was supposed to be cancelled due to flooding in her studio. At this point we had a conversation and she assured me communication would be better and I would be reimbursed from the boudoir costs. I made the decision to continue with her as my photographer since this happened in June and wedding would be in august. Come wedding day, she arrived solo. I paid extra for second shooter. Another person arrived shortly after, however that person was there to hold the camera. The 2nd person told my mom that she was there to "help out" and therefore she did not provide 2nd shooter POV. Due to this, everything felt rushed, we missed out on photos that I had requested because Sarah was doing all photos herself and the photos we do have are from one perspective, rather than having photos of both of our faces while reading vows we have the back of my head and his face or vice versa. Everything was rushed because Sarah could only do one group at a time, so while she was doing groomsmen pics I wasn't doing anything, and vice versa. I have no idea what time she left the venue, which is not a big deal but we had discussed a timeline in order to get pictures in the venue and during golden hour, none of this happened, most likely due to her being the only shooter. I have no photos of me and my husband in our venue (The Mansion on Main Street) , which was absolutely gorgeous. Didn't get any photos with my grandmother which I requested. Idk what the point of me sending the shot list was. We don't even have a creative detail shot/flat lay when I laid everything out on the table to be included. Moving forward to the pictures we received, I've honestly avoided really looking at them after initially receiving and I'm just so disappointed. I'm fairly certain she sent me every single picture she snapped irregardless of it being compete trash/blurry. There were no attempts to edit past a pre-set that must've been applied to all the photos (ex:bright yellow curb markings, scaffolding, portapotties) and some of the shots look like the camera was crooked. If you read this far, I'm assuming you are considering her as your photographer. Just remember, wedding day pictures are once in a lifetime - you cannot get those shots again.

I just have to say what a great place. Before going to the beach during the summer of 2010, we researched places for my daughter's senior portraits. By accident we came across Avalon Art Photography. Sometimes blind luck does payoff. In this case, we had a great payout by finding Avalon Art, Jeannie and Chuck. The team did such a great job in capturing the essence of my daughter and her inner personality. Sure we had to meet Chuck on the beach just as the sun came up and being on vacation, which was hard in itself. But again, the benefits of the lighting as the sun came up providing such a great backdrop. When it came time to order the actual pictures, the process they use was great and we did get enough prints for all the family members for a reasonable price. Even the packaging that came with the prints was a showcase as it was very tasteful. They were very nice in providing some Facebook pictures that my daughter posted to her friends. So that feature that they offer was very helpful. I can tell now but looking at the finished yearbook that these pictures are unique in composition and I owe that all to the time Chuck spent with my daughter to pull out what he needed to be successful. At one point, Chuck was flipping over the lifeguard boat to capture that unique picture that Avalon Art promises. So if you are lucky enough like us to come across the paths of Avalon Art, I would recommend the team as they did deliver great results. read more

My wife and sister-in-law arranged for a photo session in July of 2013 for their mother's birthday…read moregift, as the entire family would be spending a week in OC NJ and it seemed like a great photo opportunity. When the whole gang showed up at the appointed place and time- 3rd street- we were met by a really nice high school kid who held us for 20 minutes while he tried to contact the lead photographer and find out where she was and when she would arrive. With 9 smallish, impatient kids and a larger, impatient father-in-law, we tried to help this kid buy more time, but eventually he gave up and proceeded to take the pictures himself. I certainly have nothing against high school students apprenticing, learning, helping out...but this wasn't our expectation. Through it all, he was professional, kind, accommodating, and genuinely tried...while some photos were great, other pictures came out with shadows on faces, sun at the wrong angle, and other issues that should not be present on a professional photo shoot. Certainly not his fault...he did his best under the circumstances. The post photo-shoot didn't go so well. My sister-in-law had to make repeated calls to keep the process moving, and it wasn't until November that we finally were sent the photos on a flash drive. I really don't like leaving negative responses on yelp, but we didn't have a great experience. I'm just one client- and I hope others yelp with more positive experiences- but a $450 photo shoot is a lot more disappointing than a poor $2.50 Frappuccino!

The…read morefirst attempt it started pouring rain on the way there and obviously couldn't have pictures taken, so we rescheduled for the next morning. As we were leaving on the second attempt, it started drizzling, but decided to try anyway. It was windy and chilly, but the photographer did not act like it was a problem, and we quickly tried to get our pictures in as it obviously was going to start storming soon. Her husband was with her, but made no attempt to help pose us or our 5 children. She said sessions usually last 45 minutes, but b/c of the weather it got cut short to 15 minutes. She told us that she would email the picture in 2-3 weeks and we paid her the $100 for the sitting fee. After 4 weeks, I had not received any pictures even regularly checking my spam folder, so I called her, left her a message with our phone number, and asked her to call me back when she was able. Another week went by and still no pictures and no call back. I called her again, telling her that I still had not heard from her or received the pictures, left my number again, and asked her to call me back. Still nothing, so the next day I emailed her and asked her to refund my money and we would just go get our pictures somewhere else. She emailed me back claiming that she had sent the pictures weeks ago and had texted me the week before even though I mysteriously never hear from her. At that point she did send a link to the pictures which were all bad. I am confused why she never called me back on the phone number I provided for her and asked her to call me on twice. I obviously was not receiving her supposed forms of communication. She also wrote, "I think I was more then fair with you. I changed the session multiple times as per your request. I stood in the pouring rain risking my equipment for your session." I am not sure what those things had to do with the issue of not receiving my pictures in the amount of time she promised, but I emailed her back and told her that I would take partial responsibility for not canceling the session b/c it was starting to rain (it was not pouring rain), but that she could have canceled just as easily since she obviously was so concerned about it. I asked for a partial refund not even suggesting what amount she should refund me which I thought was a fair request. I never heard back from her again. That was weeks ago.
