I genuinely enjoyed working with the orthodontist. He was pleasant, professional, and I was very happy with how quickly my teeth straightened. Because I had worn braces previously, my treatment was completed in only eight months. Beyond this positivity, I have two significant concerns that taint my review.
First, the technician who removed my braces used instrumentation that was far too abrasive. I left the office with teeth that felt very rough. I thought it was the glue, so I visited my regular dentist for a cleaning. They confirmed that this was damage, not glue, and that the texture and grooves now on my teeth were permanent. They refused to smooth them for fear of damaging my enamel.
Second, I have serious concerns about how the financial portion of my treatment was handled. When my braces were placed, I paid my portion of the treatment cost in full, with my insurance company left to pay their portion over the course of my treatment.
Because my treatment was completed sooner than expected, I had to pay the $504 balance that my insurance owed to have my braces removed. The office staff assured me that when the insurance finished paying its portion, I would receive a full refund. After my treatment ended, the office continued submitting false office visit claims for insurance payment.
Once my insurance company determined that their payments were made erroneously, they reclaimed their payments, and now I will not receive the reimbursement I was promised. I acknowledge that the contract I signed stated that I was responsible if my insurance did not pay; however, my insurance was billed for visits that never occurred, and because they refused to pay, I was the one left to pay for these same visits that I never attended. read more
