The moment I walked in, the beautiful lobby and welcoming staff immediately shifted the tone. A.D., the dental assistant, called me back and introduced herself with such warmth that my guard began to lower. Our conversation felt natural and calming, which helped me relax before the appointment even began. Then I met Corey, the dental hygienist. When he spoke, I noticed his accent and asked where he was from. When he said Memphis, I smiled instantly--because I'm from Memphis too, born and raised. That small moment of connection turned what could have been a stressful appointment into something much more human. Corey listened as I shared my past dental concerns and experiences. His empathy, patience, and attentiveness made me feel like a person, not just a patient. Dr. Martinez has served my family for over 13 years. He took excellent care of my daughter there was no other option for me then to return to Dr Martinez when my son needed his braces. Between the careless orthodontic care, unprofessional staff, questionable billing practices, and financial nightmare, this has been one of our WORST healthcare experiences. Unprofessional Orthodontist: She was late to EVERY appointment, arrogant, dismissive, and overly opinionated. Despite obtaining THREE separate professional opinions against removing our daughter's molars, she continued pushing for extractions against our wishes. Painful Treatment Errors: An employee improperly cut or positioned our daughter's wires and ties, causing severe pain. We had to RETURN after leaving and specifically request the one employee we trusted to correct the mistake. Another male employee was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Unnecessary Treatment Concerns: After relocating out of state, we learned our daughter could have already had her braces removed, despite Cypress insisting she needed SIX MORE MONTHS of treatment. This raised serious questions about their treatment recommendations. Billing and Collections: When nobody was available at checkout to accept our payment, we waited and eventually left, planning to pay at our next visit. Instead, we received a COLLECTIONS LETTER less than a month later! We began paying early to avoid further issues and ultimately OVERPAID. Questionable Records: We discovered discrepancies in our daughter's orthodontic records, including an incorrect braces installation date following her transfer from another provider. This raised serious concerns about the accuracy of their insurance billing. OVER $2,000 REFUND NIGHTMARE: Payments made from my PERSONAL debit card were incorrectly refunded to an FSA associated with a former employer! I no longer work there, and I have been left fighting to recover OVER $2,000 of MY MONEY. It took approximately SIX MONTHS for the office to identify the refund issue! BOTTOM LINE: Poor patient care, unprofessional behavior, inaccurate records, aggressive collection practices, and unacceptable financial mismanagement. We trusted this practice with our daughter's health and our hard-earned money, and deeply regret it. PARENTS: GET SECOND OPINIONS, CHECK YOUR INSURANCE CLAIMS, KEEP EVERY RECEIPT, AND TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!
